www.motorbeam.com/ tests the acceleration and top speed of the 2015 Honda CB Unicorn 160. While Honda claims a top speed of 106 km/hr for the Unicorn 160, we were able to hit 122 km/hr on the speedometer, the real speed verified by a VBOX being 114 km/hr.

The Unicorn 160 has a top speed of 124kmph. I have tested it myself time and again. Although it's not advisable to continue riding at those speeds for more than a few seconds. But fact is, 124kmph is the top speed.

should I choose this over Apache 180 abs? I am keen on the abs but also want a toe heel shifter as my pulsar 200 has damaged several pairs of shoes with is toe shifter . Please guide if abs is that critical and if the CBS on the Unicorn will be as effective. not very keen on performance want a reliable and safe commuter
ABS is better than CBS and CBS is better than no CBS. What is the top speed you will do?

Karthik C CBS is good if you are a newbie. The best bike for the city is the Unicorn 160 but do try out the FZ and Gixxer.

Since I am looking at vehicle which is good for a family ride & also low on maintenance with sporty looks - please suggest if I can look at Yamaha SZ RR v2 instead which just costs 80000 ??

Unicorn 160 and Trigger are largely the same bike, we would suggest you don't worry about your Trigger and use it with happiness.
I would like change my hornets handle bar. I am 6.1 tall and would like to drive sitting straight. can you suggest any solution.

Angel Hdez 150cc bikes not best for cruising at 100 km/hr, the best is the R15 though else the Gixxer SF.

Angel Hdez Any speed below 90kmph will be ok for air cooled 150cc motorcycles. 80kmph will be the comfortable cruising speed though.
+Angel Hdez 150 are too noisy above 70. so For cruising at 100, you need at least 500cc bike.

So trio comparison between unicorn,gixxer, and fz made it clear that unicorn is quickest and fastest even faster and quicker than gixxer, and fz coming last
FZ being last wasn't a surprise, it's the slowest of them all. Unicorn's smaller rubber helps it get ahead quickly.

Can you tell me, is it CBS version of Unicorn 160 is better than Standard version ? because I already booked this and waiting for dispatch. Showroom people said it will be on end of this month. Price difference between Std version and CBS is around 5000/-. Also I confused with color options, Red or Black will be more attractive ?
Red is a good colour on the CB Unicorn 160 and you should opt for CBS.

If the road is similar to the video, it's 50+ if you ride between 35-55kmph speed. If the road is rough, it will be 35-40kmpl.

MotorBeam I am 35 yr old . Looking for commuter but good looking vehicle . Not liked Yamaha . Now have booked 160 cc unicorn . My friends say I should have seen Bajaj Discover 150 s standard . Hope I have made right decision . Seems Honda would be a bit expensive ... What do you suggest .

How I wonder u guyz care about giving 0-100kmph review of a daily commute bike(which people buy for commuting and not for speeding around) and completely ignore giving the same for baby racing bikes(keeping their bigger siblings aside for irony) likes cbr150/250 r, r15/25, ktm rc 200/390, ninja 250/300 r...etc etc etc
The Unicorn 160's USP is its performance and people want to see how well it accelerates.
We do put videos of other bikes doing the 0-100 km/hr sprint. The RC 200's is coming next. Ninja 300 is already there.
MotorBeam I really appreciate Motorbeam posting 0-100 sprint videos. Trust me. it really helps. It really gives an idea about the actual performance of bike. Because its not on paper that we need to know the performance of a bike. Earlier we had to google it to find the 0-100 sprint time and its really hard to find one. But its really happy to see a trusted team posting them. But really wish you guys posted the sprint times for cars too.

Dont think so. If this video is true then i think unicorn160 beats every other bike in the segment including gixxer. Honda's perfect mix of power, refinement and efficiency makes it a class apart. Not only that, engine is always where honda wins. Its quality is unbeatable. Waiting for the full review.

VITTAL S S That depends on various factors like rider, wind resistance, road conditions, etc. One needs to do the runs on a flat road, we have managed 17.83 seconds on an FZ V2 but that was on a slightly sloppy road. Similarly, the Gixxer will never ever do 0-100 km/hr in 15.6 seconds on a flat road.
