Smh to the people commenting "how do people find this hard?" Well It also depends upon how seriously do you take studying. Like in India it is very rare that you can even survive without studying so they teach this to us in grade 6 and 7 (students are not even in highschool at that time) while in ur country it is quite simple to get a job without prior knowledge so studying is not a very serious topic for you. Also you guys focus on memory more that analysis. A tip for students taking the SAT: just put the entire equation into desmos. You'll get a coordinate answer of (1.73736, 0), or x = 1.73736, which is the same thing as x = (3pi)/(3pi - 4).

It’s a standardized test used for college/university admissions, along with the ACT. Some schools are becoming test-optional, and some don’t even take it anymore. I think SAT used to stand for Scholastic Aptitude Test, but they stopped calling it that but kept the acronym as the name of the exam.

How exciting.
I moved the second fraction to the other side: 2x/3π = (x-1)/2 and cross multiplied. No better or worse than your way, but maybe a little quicker.
i did the same!
Pre calc teachers like me hate the term “cross multiply”. It’s called transposition sir 😂.

@@GlorifiedTruthjudging by your post history you should go to pre-pre school
@@Windowza Oh my God! You are so funny! What did I say that was wrong, or do you even know?
I started by moving the (1 - x)/2 to the other side. A trick is that -(a - b) = (b - a). So I had 2x/(3pi) = (x - 1)/2, then I cross-multiplied.
So many people in the comment section exchanged humility with intelligence.

I do not think the answer should be written as a fraction, but i may be wrong.
i just started watching and i love your channel
If this is considered to be the "hardest" algebra question in sat maths, then sat is gonna be so free for me next year.

My way of solution ▶
2x/(3π) + (1-x)/2 = 0
by multiplying both sides with 2*3π, we get:
4x+ (1-x)*3π= 0
4x + 3π - 3πx=0
4x-3πx + 3π=0
x(4-3π) = - 3π
x= -3π/(4-3π)
⇒
x= 3π/(3π-4)
i love you andymath
could you not simplify 3pi/3pi - 4 into -4?
no. consider this: lets say we have 3/(3-4) doing this normally, we get -3. but if we cancel the threes, we instead get 1/-3. hopefully my math doesnt suck after not having used it for three years
@@superubergoober yeah, you can't simplify things if they're added or subtracted (in this case of course, not in general).

Easiest way to figure that out is to plug it into a calculator. They won't match, because you unfortunately can't simplify the denominator like that.
Exciting indeed
It can be tricky when there's more than one x but if you found this tricky you're not ready for the SAT.
What age is the sat done?
High school so about 17-18 years old
Edit :- it can be lower but generally people apply for it in 11th or 12th grade
4x + 3π(1 - x) = 0
(4 - 3π)x + 3π = 0
x = 3π/(3π - 4)
Is that...a SAT question?
I don't even need to watch the video to answer this, x=x. easy
How the heck did I got -11/3

Couldn’t you just multiply by 2 then by 3pi?
Should have made the video 4 seconds longer.
What the heck I thought the challenge would’ve been to cancel out the π in the final answer, I feel like I've been scammed

What are you doing?? Subtract the (1-x)/2 from both sides, cross multiply, and solve the linear equation! It’s that easy!
4x + 3pi(1 - x)
------------------------ = 0
6pi
4x + 3pi(1 - x) = 0
(3pi - 4)x = 3pi
x = 3pi / (3pi - 4)
