    very nice content.... I'm new to this crappie fishing and this will hopefully help me to catch them without the live scope. I'm looking for a good unit to help me.

      @@thebowtiefisherman5718 you bet in my opinion the humminbird helix 12 is the best unit right now. They do have smaller versions but I will tell you that for anyone having any vision issues like myself the bigger unit the better.

    Can you find crappie without side scan and livescope

      Yes sir Calvin. I did it for years with regular 2d sonar. We also used to catch them just dabbling around anything we could visually see along with casting a roadrunner. Things sure have changed. I still catch a bunch in the spring casting a roadrunner. But having electronics is a must these days for keeping my customers on fish. Thanks for the comment 👍

    Crazy our water temp is in high 80’s at daylight and 93’ish in evening time fork isn’t that far north of Sam Rayburn that i thought it was that far off in surface temperature that’s crazy

      Ours is creeping up there now. I think the cool rains we have been getting has kept the surface temps down. We got close to another 2 inches in the last two days. Thanks Dustin for the comment 👍

    I got some fire balls after your last video.. Absolutely amazing. When the school slows or shuts off put on a fireball and BOOM they are turned rite back on..

      @@CATCHAHAWG I stay the Winter in North Texas and we catch the hail out of Bigun’s
      Up to 16 inches. A buddy caught one this Spring that was just shy of 2 and a quarter pounds! Love how you were hammering them. Gotta get some Fireballs!

    That was AWESOME to watch! Felt like I was catching them myself! BTW, what kind of rod and line were you using. I really like the action of that rod and the cork handle as well. Really looks like it is sensitive, but with good backbone. Thx!

      Hey Kerry, I apologize for not responding earlier. For some reason youtube hasn't been sending all of my comments to my phone and I very rarely check them on my pc. That rod is an old abu garcia 5ft 6 inch light action. There's no telling how many fish i've caught on that little thing. Thank you for your comment

    I am looking for some crappie jigs made by Bob Young.It was a popular jig at Lake Fork. I do believe he passed away last year. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    good grief that's ridiculous... gonna go to Scheels and find something like those fireballs today! I've had the same issue with jigs last few weeks - little bumps, nibble, but no luck! I dont like buying and using minnows!

    I really gotta go and scout out the lake where I fish.... I still haven't found any standing timber so I just try to fish lay downs and grass.

      Those lay downs are very productive. That’s all I fish in one of the lakes nearby and I bust them. Keep looking and if they are in there you will find them.👍

      @@CATCHAHAWG There are 3 different reds and a couple of green options. There is Red/Glitter, Red, and Chinook are all red in color. Then there are Chartreuse/Anise and Chartreuse/Garlic. Which seems to work the best?

      @@keithlatimer8743 they all seem to work well. I don’t really have a preference but I guess I probably use the red more than any others so far. I had a fella with me today that had some small pink ones and they ate them too.

      Hey Ken, the three that have worked the best for me are the red, pink and chartreuse. They really love them as you can see in some of the other comments.
