The whole narrativ around it was just masterfully executed; its one thing to just show the player what awesome vehicles he could get if he works hard, but letting him use that vehicle only for the worlds biggest asshole to take that away from him, is on a whole nother level in terms of giving the player a motavation
The kids of the new generation are fucking dumb, they all play stupid Fortnite games, and say something stupid like "Lamborghini is better than the M3 GTR" I really hate it when people say that shit, they know nothing about the legend, they're just some stupid kids, that's what they are.
And the M3 GTR is always better than Lamborghini and some other stupid muscle cars, there is no car that can beat the M3 GTR, there is no car that can top the M3 GTR!

LOL!!! I was very disappointed in the new Most Wanted in 2012/13!! I thought it was going to be the remake of the game. But nope!! I love the game as a chilled relaxing game simply for fun, but there is no story line or anything good about it like the old Need For Speeds. I HONESTLY miss the old need for speed games with amazing story lines.
Specially Need For Speed Most Wanted 2005. The last best story line they made was Need For Speed Undercover. I think that was the last Need For Speed Story Game. Then it was Need For Speed Pro Street Racing (Basically a crap version of Forza 2).
Then came Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. The idea was a remake that could be easier played online, but again no story line. The scenery was spectacular though and the cars were amazing!
Then Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012/13, which had no story mode. It was more of an arcade. I dont think they've made any since then. =(

@@bagelitsandila4611 BMW originally built 10 street versions to comply with ALMS rules. Only 6 are left and 3 of them are prototypes so basically there are only 3 street legal M3 GTRs left in existence

That BMW is the most iconic vehicle in the whole NFS series. Everything about it is perfect. But fucking EA ruined everything.
I agree with ya man. In my opinion, if EA wants to get their respect and reputation back, they should stop making new Nfs games and go back to the legendary NFS games and remaster them. I mean, I would by far play a remastered version of the NFS most wanted 2005 rather than a new NFS game.

Need for speed most wanted is in my opninion the best racing game of all times. The racing, evading cops, tuning your cars inside and outside and the music. Just the whole scene is perfect.

The one that started all this was need for speed iv: high stakes. Evading cops while racing. Its still a pretty awesome game. The only good thing about carbon was the canyons and of course...the charger.

When I first got the M3 GTR back I took it the paint shop and resprayed it, just casually messing around..Then I realized that I couldn't change it back to its original paint. I could've kms'd at that point

0:48 was the Mazda RX5's engine Sound. Why? Because while jumping, the red Car has reached max RPM, becsuse the wheels were not attached to the floor. Thats actually very realistic simulated.

Since EA isn't interested in creating quality titles anymore I don't think EA will ever top the original Most Wanted; it was the best of both Hot Pursuit and Underground combined into one awesome game and probably one of the first racing games I can recall that featured a story line.

EA can only top previous games with the graphics quality , not with the gameplay quality.But this happens to the most of series.It's top for many years and then come a new company and fuck up everything. It happened to Cod too, Activision came and ruined all.

Damn, back when Need for Speed was good. Can't believe that was 10 years ago. I finished this game like a hundred times. But I enjoyed it every single time. I don't get why EA isn't producing a worthy sequel to Underground 2 or Most Wanted. People would buy that shit right away. And before people point out that Carbon is the sequel to Most Wanted, well except for the tuning Carbon couldn't hang with Most Wanted. Story, Cutscenes, City and the Police were 10 times better in MW than in Carbon.
My dream NFS:
- big city with different landscapes
- day n' night time cycle
- whole bunch of cars (from the 67' Shelby to a Bugatti Veyron) including the almost legendary BMW from MW
- proper tuning, tons of bumpers, body kits, skirts, hoods, spoilers, rims and much more!!! (not that little bit we got in the latest NFS, btw that game blows)
- A cool story, maybe similiar to MW, with actual actors and a proper director/writer (what we got in the latest NFS is just a freakin joke and an insult to every NFS fan out there)
- no freakin annoying phone calls!!!
- no always on shiat that doesn't benefit my gaming experience. Let me play the singleplayer offline!!! (I think EA just wants to see how much they can get away with)
- Proper use of the police (give us a freakin reason to tolerate the police ingame. In MW the police was one of the best features in the game and the pursuits were fun. In the latest NFS the police is just freakin annoying and there is no further reason, atleast for me, to be chased by them)
- better driving physics (In the latest NFS you're forced to drift to get around almost every freakin turn. If i wanna drive with more grip, give me that more grip. But don't make it almost impossible for me to take a turn)
- Story progress = unlocking tuning parts (I mean what the faq, why do i have to level up in a freakin racing game? More story progress = more unlocked parts. That's how it should be. But hey, I can buy a freakin Lamborghini but I can't put the best engine in it because i have to level up! WHAT THE FAQ? RPG Elements in (SINGLEPLAYER) racing games don't work. It's just annoying!)
- Proper performance (hej i'm beeing honest, i don't need the game to look like crysis. But give me my 60 fps pls)

I've been trying to find time to play but my sister, she's the one that sit in front of the PC playing MMO all day.
i remember my first contact with this game. when the game came out i was reading an article about it in the gaming section of a TV program magazine. the image featured there was this astonishing beauty of a car followed by police cars. as a kid car enthusiast who had only played underground 2 at the time, it was my first time seeing a BMW in a NFS game, same with cop cars. and it was such an amazing BMW, especially when i played with it. loved everything about it : the track modification kit blended togheter with the awesome paintjob that gave it a street look and the sound, oh god the SOUND. it instantly became an icon of the NFS series for me and still is because no other car from the following games has made this great impression on me ( the closest being rose's porsche from undercover, that's as close as it could get )
Darius' Le Mans Quattro/R8 and NFS:3's Diablo SV are pretty popular with the fanbase too

This game was the pinnacle for Need for Speed series. I still remember staying up all night and building up that bounty to challenge the next blacklist racer. Those were times....
They went full on out in this game. I’m so lucky I was born in the PS2 era to be introduced to such a wonderfully made game. When NFS was actually a good franchise! The intro I would never skip. Even Carbon was fantastic!

This intro really captured the gameplay perfectly. Notice that there's no "featured" song in it either, there's a drum&bass track but the auditory focus is on the action. The cops don't fuck around, and the driver has to do everything they can to escape, a brutal environment. That's what I would sum this game as, brutal action. The soundtrack only improved on the perfect blueprint of this game and only helped reinforce the brutal action of this game. I'm totally fine with drift not being in the game, it just wouldn't have fit in.
That M3 GTR has become some sort of mascot/icon for the whole NFS series, thanks to the game. Whether or not it's as perfect IRL, it's one of the most iconic moments in gaming history to see that M3 in blue and grey/white power-sliding through the corners, and certainly one of the most iconic cars in gaming history.
IMO, most recognizable things in gaming -

This game was perfect, it had it all: awesome story, exciting soundtrack, the urge and anxiety you felt on every pursuit was unique and palpable... Even the difficulty was spot on. Man, hopefully, sooner than later, we get a remaster for this or even something pretty similar and good.

I like how, within the context of a few seconds,,the game establishes 1, the police force has both undercover and superfast cop cars, how dangerous they are when they stop another racer, and how ballsy you are for turning around and challenging them.
This game still in my Old PC with old Saves. This give me nostalgia.

10 years passed and I still love it
I’m playing NFS No Limits and I was minding my business going through races when I see an event called “Urban Legend” with this same M3. I selected the event and then they tell us the whole story of most wanted all over again. They leave the car to us and tell us to make our way on to the blacklist once again like this car did so many years back and this may sound dumb to most people but I had literal goosebumps because this M3 is my entire childhood. The fact that they gave it a comeback means so much to an old school fan like me!

And the protagonists are different, UG2 has the same protagonist from UG1, NFS MW has a different protagonist.
NFS UG2 = Same storyline to UG1
NFS MW = Different storyline to UG2
