Haitani's doing things I want to do with her. Axe kick pressure and dash-in Karakusa. I need that shit in my life. Makoto is slowly winning me back to SF4 after a solid six years of being kind of not-so-hot on the game.
Guessing you're still a Makoto player ( or at least a fan ), have you seen the updates and news for Ultra SFIV Makoto? If so, do you like them or do you feel Makoto was made weaker?
Stuff like this really makes me wish I got into SF4 and gave it a try. If Makoto ever comes back, I'll probably try to main her in whatever next SF it's in. If it's 6, I'll be happy. I just wanna see her again, I adore her a lot.
I'm with outtagoodnamesdangit- I love that the crowd chanted "Seichusen godanzuki" as it happened. ... And now... I feel kinda pathetic having spelled that correctly without checking to see if I spelled it right beforehand...
i suck at street fighter and dont understand a large amount of the terminology yet i still find myself watching every evo and watch lots of old matches. whats wrong with me haha
I recently started playing SF4, picking Makoto despite people warning me that she is a bad character to start with. I see I made a good choice, since she looks super fun to play.
Thanks a lot for the advice. I am aware of her difficulty, but I am a fan of that character playstyle. I think the first thing I should be doing is to perform her moves over and over until I can do them without even thinking of the command. I figure if I can become good with this character, learning the rest shouldn't be too hard.
Well, being fair. Dive Kick(hilariously enough) & KOF XIII are easily the most balanced fighters out currently. Guilty Gear still outshines BB in the rushdown department too. I played BB pretty heavily and as a Makoto player I gotta say it is fast-paced. But it gets stale & gimmicky. The balance is decent though. In terms of netcode, SF easily takes the cake. I've had way too many laggy matches and desynchronizations on BBCS and BBCSX. That's in comparison to SSF4AE anyway.
Wait, you want MORE rushdown?!? SFIV: AE is basically SFIV: Rushdown edition. If anything, keep away needs to make a comeback just to balance things out again lol.
Ahh, what a great match. Not Gamerbee's style at all to back off on the pressure. sloppy play, too. he lost a round on a missed ultra at one point -never seen him do that.
Don't know about the ex jaguar tooth, but in that last KO he says "ore-sama ga" (俺様が). Ore is a pretty rude / informal way of saying " I ", sama is an honorific used with important people, or someone your respect very much and is in a higher position (and he is using it to refer to himself, which is pretty showoff / braggart of him), the ga is open to interpretation I guess, because he doesn't finish the sentence, but you could take it as if he thinks he is too good to be losing, as if he were to say " I ... (can't be possibly be losing)", though he doesn't actually say it.
Most of the metagame of SF4 is literally just waiting and then jumping in to combo in from either shorts or jabs. It makes the game slow down to a crawl and isn't very fun. Methodical in a way, but not the way I would want it. Doesn't help SF4 is heavily prone to mashing.
I would say adon is over the top in this game! almost all of his moves break the focus attack! that is so corny! I hate this character they need to turn him down just a notch!
Considering I don't care for Adon that's a stretch, but you keep on trolling, if it makes you feel good about yourself. I suppose hate is a strong word. It was through some personal interactions that didn't necessarily leave a good impression.
I love that crowd. At 8:18 when Makoto hits her Ultra, listen to the crowd.
They all chant "Seichusen Godanzuki!" along with her.
SEICHOSEN GODANZUKI!!!!
lol, they zoomed in on Gamerbee after James said look at Haitani's face.
I absolutely love that the crowd chants along with the second Seichusen Godanzuki.
Haitani's doing things I want to do with her. Axe kick pressure and dash-in Karakusa. I need that shit in my life.
Makoto is slowly winning me back to SF4 after a solid six years of being kind of not-so-hot on the game.
Im sorry to hear that after USF4 :/
this game was almost perfect. i dont find any apppeal in 5.
Haitani is the soul for MAKOTO. Truly great player.. 8:20 is the best part of this video
The audience at 8:20!
SEICHUSEN GODANZUKI!
IKR!
I WAS THERE AND I YELLED THAT TOO, didn't expect everyone else would do that as well hahaha
Epic time
The skill by haitani is out of this world. One of the most knowledgeable sf players ever.
gotta love the audience at this tournament
hell yah Ive been rocking makoto since 3rd strike, glad to see her validity in IV
Guessing you're still a Makoto player ( or at least a fan ), have you seen the updates and news for Ultra SFIV Makoto? If so, do you like them or do you feel Makoto was made weaker?
There was one player who labbed the hell out of her in Super Street Fighter 4 and I can't remember his name.
There was one dude that was like the only makoto player when everyone thought she was bad
I am becoming a fan of this Haiatani. Seeing his Makoto in action is so much fun.
One of the best match in this tournament. So fun to watch.
I love gamerbee. He uses adon ( who no one ever uses) and does amazing with him.
"Look on that expression on Haitani"
Zooms in on Gamerbee
Stuff like this really makes me wish I got into SF4 and gave it a try. If Makoto ever comes back, I'll probably try to main her in whatever next SF it's in. If it's 6, I'll be happy. I just wanna see her again, I adore her a lot.
Best thumbnail.
waw ! Amazing match !!!
2 of my favorite characters !
who still watch it in 2019 and 2020
8:20 that's so cute.) Seichusen Godanzuki ✊
One of the best watch in this tournament. So fun to match
My favorite match of the night.
What an awesome Makoto!
Been trying to learn her... She's very unique.
Hi i am watchin in 2023 and SF6 is great, but SF4 had that vibe that i miss
I recently started playing SF4, picking Makoto despite people warning me that she is a bad character to start with.

+Ricepaddy hows it going so far?
and juri for the novice
Great set both did well
When Adon flips forward and does his "Jaguar Tooth" kick, what is he saying in Japanese? It always sounds like he's shouting "DAMN IT!" Funny as heck.
Best makoto i ve ever seen love it
Haitani what a match
me too so much hype when I see him playing.
Great match. Shows SF4 isn't just a waiting game.
I wish rushdowns were better in SF4 like they were in SF3.
Good performances for both players, but I really wanted Haitani to win though.
Seichusen Godanzuki (正中線五段突き, "Median Line Fifth Rank Thrust"
Gamerbee is one of my fav pleyyyaas to watch him play very explosive
This was such a great match.
Because it is... frickin.... awesome.
Haitani is such a fucking boss. I always hope he wins.
one of the best match both players improve alot, mean alot of hard pratice.
Damn, really wish Gamerbee could have won.. I feel he has the best chance to beat Xian... he beat him recently in a tournament.

非常棒,那几个大威让我看着爽
This match is soooo dope, and I think it's in Adon's favor but it sure didn't look like it.
A more relatable translation would be "Down The Middle Five-Punch Strike".
Why doesn't Haitani have a sponsor?
please capcom bring sf 6 back to this type of gameplay
5:49 to 6:01 . . . "Beastly." Take notes on this.
Have Makoto ever won any tournament? She is a vey good fighter
i cant use makoto in SSF4, i feel her a little bit slower than in SF3 Third Strike.
Wait, you want MORE rushdown?!? SFIV: AE is basically SFIV: Rushdown edition. If anything, keep away needs to make a comeback just to balance things out again lol.
DEM TIGER KNEE AXE KICKS
Ahh, what a great match. Not Gamerbee's style at all to back off on the pressure. sloppy play, too. he lost a round on a missed ultra at one point -never seen him do that.
What about this Reppu Seitenzuki? Its been bugging me since this is from another character that practices karate.
No, I just couldn't get into it.
All I ever did was mash D with Noel.
& @Sakura Kasugano. Really??? Guess you guys must not have caught the Infiltration vs PR Balrog - Losers Semi! ... Breath taking!
4:53 no kids for Adon, sorry lad
anyone know what adon says during ex jaguar tooth and when hes KOd in japanese?
Don't know about the ex jaguar tooth, but in that last KO he says "ore-sama ga" (俺様が). Ore is a pretty rude / informal way of saying " I ", sama is an honorific used with important people, or someone your respect very much and is in a higher position (and he is using it to refer to himself, which is pretty showoff / braggart of him), the ga is open to interpretation I guess, because he doesn't finish the sentence, but you could take it as if he thinks he is too good to be losing, as if he were to say " I ... (can't be possibly be losing)", though he doesn't actually say it.
***** Thanks man, I've been wanting to know for a while. While we're on the subject, would you also know what fei long says when he's ko'd?
"Ore no make da" (俺の負けだ)
Meaning (literally) "It's my loss".
Less literally, you could take as "I lose".
Japanese companies don't sponsor players. The image of pro gamers is not yet accepted as much as by the western world.
SF2 isn't a waiting game filled with nothing but jabs.
thats one good makoto
Hitani is cool.
L E G E N D
What does mokoto say in her ultra??
The name of her Ultra.
Makoto rulez Ò.Ô
Most of the metagame of SF4 is literally just waiting and then jumping in to combo in from either shorts or jabs. It makes the game slow down to a crawl and isn't very fun. Methodical in a way, but not the way I would want it. Doesn't help SF4 is heavily prone to mashing.
Adon is King!
Oh, because it's not a direct translation..? XD
Bodied
MAKOTO!!!
gamerbee is my favourite player! great reactions! pity he was playing against a gimmicky makoto
tell me about it.
Completely different games. SF4 is more like SF2
American is not a language as far as i know. You meant English (American English)
Tried Blazblue, didn't like it.
everyone is a bit slower. that makes her worse
I guess this is that serious....not
it was nothing to do with voice acting.
Makoto **
Blazblue is less balanced than SF...
Why does American translations always make cool-sounding Japanese words sound lame?
I would say adon is over the top in this game! almost all of his moves break the focus attack! that is so corny! I hate this character they need to turn him down just a notch!
ssbofdm you're speeding, so slow down and think before you comment.
Adons moves have a lot of startup frames so you'd probably best be countering than trying to focus through it, idiot
***** true almost funny whenever this happens I'm glad I brought popcorn with me
haitani is the biggest nerd ive ever seen haha xD
????
Ummm... haha?
Given the game runs at 60fps, the encoding of this video is absolutely horrible.
Always good to see gamerbee lose. Hate him.
Why do you hate him? Just curious, is it his play style?
***** He wishes he could play adon as good as him but can't. jealousy
Considering I don't care for Adon that's a stretch, but you keep on trolling, if it makes you feel good about yourself.
I suppose hate is a strong word.
It was through some personal interactions that didn't necessarily leave a good impression.
nah, im just talking bollocks
it's not mah-KOH-toe..it's Mak-uh-toe
You obviously don’t japanese
Zephyr360 the japanese language doesn’t stress any syllable over another
Brandon Nodnarb I just noticed this guy said “mah,” which is wrong, it’s muh-ko-toh/toe instead.
Stop saying "AY-don" !!! It's "AH-DON" !!!
Does it even matter
