- This Video shows the demonstration of “Automatic Bottle Filling & Capping Machine Using PLC”.
To minimise the man power and human induced mistakes in manufacturing industries, PLC based systems are used for automation of various industrial processes, especially in packaging department. The bottle filling and capping machine is a programmable system which enables user to automate the bottle filling process.
In this system empty bottles are placed on the conveyor belt from one end, it is then moved towards water nozzle which is powered by a water pump. Switching of this pump is controlled by a replay board which determines the amount of time pump has to be active hence deciding the water level in water bottle.
Once the bottle is filled with the content, it goes to the rotating cylinder which is guided by the stepper motor, where a “cap mounting mechanism” mounts the caps on the bottle. Same rotating cylinder aligns the bottle with the DC motor, where pneumatically actuated piston pushes the DC motor-setup on the cap. With the help of rotational motion from DC motor-setup, caps of the wattle bottles are tightened up. These filled and capped bottles are then transferred to packaging box through next conveyor belt.
All these processes are controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) i.e these can be easily modified and new processes can be added as per user’s needs.

Chuncked bottle cap holder operated vertically by a pneumatic cylinder operated a bottle sensor automatically or u can use foot operated paddle to press it down

It's a good home setup. But probably would recommend cropping the scene where cap gets stuck. Also there's too much gapping between bottles and speed is too slow which is the challenging part in bottling factories.

After all those jumpcuts i'm not sure the machien is robust enough to hold production usage.
There are several times where the caps got dispensed without a bottle in this 2 min video, which ultimately ended up with a bottle spilling it's content everywhere.

Agreed. there was no proper synchronization of caps and bottles. Is it software programming problem or hardware mechanism problem?
@@suchithamogaveer1975 it was hardware. If you noticed at the start of the video he is removing a cap that's on a wrong angle. Then the most obvious jumpcut happens when a bottle fails the transition from the conveyers and the cap is not dispensed in time
The correct mechanism for this case should be that the screwing machine had a suction mechanism using vacuum, in order for the cap to stay in place, go down, then cut the vacuum then screw the cap. That way your cap will always be in the right position and you will ensure having every bottle capped
