I just wonder, could I show up barefoot at the Guggenheim museum any day or is it just during this one event? I visited it in 1999, I think I wore sandals ... back then I didn't dare anything else. First visit in the big city far away ...
in my experience, most museums will turn you out if they see you barefoot. you should reach out in advance to ask for permission and tell them you heard about the special event and would like to visit barefoot. if enough people ask, maybe they will drop these pointless anti-barefoot rules
@@posnerk123 I can tell you about the situation in Austria: The only museum that didn't let me in was the Belvedere in Vienna (a "brand" for three art museums). Others weren't bothered at all, I got surprised looks but no difficulties.
@@uncipaws7643 well, in the US, we don't have a dominant royal or religious or ethnic group. instead, we have competition among many different groups. so, we have ongoing culture wars and people trying to show how perfect they are, at least relative to their particular tribe. the land of the free is also the land of chaos and competition, and it's a little painful at times, but better than the alternative. that's my theory, anyhow.
