I love Mayday Parade, though they weren't very good the two times I've seen them live. Anyway, learning this song and that last section is like insanely difficult to sing. They didn't really push it out as much in this vid. anyway, thanx for the vid :)
@blake2112 Also, can you tell me where the name A Lesson In romantic's comes from? Well' if you can't, heres the answer. From Derek Cabbage and Brooks. They were in a band before mayday caled Defining Moment, and one of their songs was called A Lesson In Romantic's. And I find it really funny that no one includes jake in the picture,. Jake, the drummer, wrote A LOT of the lyrics too. him derek and jason all wrote. So did Cabbage. Brooks and alex did too, but not as much as those four did.
I guess I'm confused. Doesn't Jason write some of the lyrics, play guitar, and sing lead/background on the first EP and the Lesson In Romantics album? But then isn't that him in the video not singing background vocals? Why would the drummer be doing the other vocals? Please clear this up with me, guys. Hah
@TwistedTayls sorry, not trying to be rude, but there was no "ditching jason". it was more a of a mutual thing. Jason needed to leave because he felt as if he need to, and mayday didn't exactly argue. and please don't take this as sarcasem, because its not. i just live in tallahassee(their home town) and we hear rumors all the time that just aren't true. so i just thought i'd help clarify.
@blake2112 Also, when ABH was being made, the whole band wanted to explore other writing styles....just like every other musician out there. They really wanted to use their new label to their full extent, & they did. Listen I'm not saying that Jason isn't talented, cus the man is a musical genius. i grew up in tallahassee, so i've heard almost everything that him, and his family(who have a huge musical following) have released, and i love it all. But mayday parade was and is more than just him.
Great. Mayday is one of my favorite band, especially in their first two albums. the third was good but i don't think it was better then the first two. i just don't see how you can say Jason's absence is a good thing. Sorry to piss you off. I was just protecting one of my favorite singers of all time.
guys its obvious that mayday needs jason as much as jason needs mayday. Mayday parade do have talent to write their own songs. but derek needs jason too.derek's lyrics are to me very simple..(jennifer the partys over?) like really? but no theres three songs i love from the track. u have no idea how much i wait for the double vocals or just jason's voice on the record. but we have to live with the fact that we won't be seeing jason with MP as long as there's no reunion or touring with each other.
@eddy12345675 well before i start, please know that i'm just having a discussion, not a fight. anyway, i'm sorry, but i don't agree that the music off ALIR isn't theirs...because it is. they were all there when it was written, and have all been there since day one. just because a member leaves, doesn't mean that the music that was made while he was there, leaves too. i will agree that a lot of the songs lyrics, come from jason. but not one song was written souly by him.
@blake2112 sorry bro, i just can't find where i said that the music didn't change. matter a fact if you really read what i wrote, you'd see that you and i agree to a certain extent. where we start disagreeing is when we get to the whole "jason wrote most of it"...its just not true. granted he did write a lot, but they all did. if he wrote 80% of it, Go Radio would sound just as good as ALIR did, and when you compare the sales between ALIR and D&SC(GoRadio's new EP), ALIR sold a shit ton more....
@BrandonFite182 When 80% of the writing force leaves the band, regardless of the rest of the band's contributions, the music will change. Jason took it on himself to write out chorus after chorus for the band, and they didn't seem to appreciate it, and he felt he had to leave. I don't blame him for that, but it's evident from song one on Anywhere but Here that Jason is gone. The quality of lyrics and songwriting changed drastically.
bitch. Jason wrote the best lyrics ever in the world. Derek and Jake are both phenomenal, but almost everyone will agree that without Jason Mayday's music lacks the spark it used to have. they're still good, but don't say Jason didn't fit in the bands sound, cause he was so important to their original style.
Anyway, don't take this offensivly, I'm just participating in this debate, but, you should know that i hear these arguments all the time. And knowing the guys in the band, and knowing the real side of everything, it makes it hard to hold my tounge when i hear things that are just not true. I hope you understand.
@eddy12345675 lol ok man, as a tallahassee local i'm used to hearing this whole debate. and honestly i love both the same, but the whole "mayday should have quit after jason" needs to stop. they all wrote the songs, they all have been there from the get go, so they can all play whatever they like. just because jason and mayday couldnt work together doesn't mean that THEIR music cant still exist.
@blake2112 ummm no, not at all. i actually am not worked up, or ofended at all. i dont take other peoples opinions personally, i just felt like i should at least give my knowledge of this subject so you could see where i'm comming from. i really had no idea that we were in a competition, because i had no intentions on "defeating" you. when it comes down to it, i know the true story, because i know ppl in the band and are friends with their friends and family, so if you don't beleive me,
@blake2112 thats fine, i just thought i should shed light on the truth. sorry if i offended you. oh, and by no means did you even come close to "ruining" my evening.
@BrandonFite182 I couldn't care less anymore. (And I said "quality" not change in general) You seem to take dissenting opinions of Mayday very personally, so I'mma just concede defeat and abstain from ruining your evening anymore.
its because he cant sing as high as he does in the album so they drop the key like 47 pitches. . . they're too polished. . they make good music, if only they could do it in reality.
Every song by them, is a piece of art. I just love them so much! :)

does anyone know any good unsigned punk/pop bands in the chicagoland area???? or anywhere cool 2 go like mojoe's??
I guess I'm confused. Doesn't Jason write some of the lyrics, play guitar, and sing lead/background on the first EP and the Lesson In Romantics album? @missaurelia1 me too!!! ♥
@zninja1 I like how in interviews they say they "all" wrote the lyrics. All the while looking incredibly guilty.
Aww As Cities Burn.
i remember something,,.:P

@Tv6Promotions
yeah dats ryt..

No, I have like 2 more songs to post. they will go up 2day. thanks for rating!
TV6
@BrandonFite182 yeah i know. sorry i must have mistyped. i just meant that in the sense that he isn't in the band anymore.
guys its obvious that mayday needs jason as much as jason needs mayday. i dont understand, wheres jason?
didnt he leave in like october of 08? i guess maybe thio scouldve been after that

@broncosruleusa kinda agree but yes 99% are better in the studio but go radio with jason sound the same even better!
@ashmcriver yo whose that?

@broncosruleusa ...you do know that theyve been an amazing band longer without him then with him, and that derek wrote more then he did....
@myworldtm Lyrics they didn't write.
@Tv6Promotions Blink 182 ahahah :P im joking! if you dont get my sense of humor
bitch. Jason wrote the best lyrics ever in the world. @Tv6Promotions Go Radio.
he clearly has a sore throat but his voice still sounds half decent! :)
Anyway, don't take this offensivly, I'm just participating in this debate, but, you should know that i hear these arguments all the time. And knowing the guys in the band, and knowing the real side of everything, it makes it hard to hold my tounge when i hear things that are just not true. I hope you understand.
@broncosruleusa They need Jasons voice.
Isn't that a wee bit low key for him to be singing in?
really good video
really good band
:)

you can tell he's struggling by this stage but he is still a really good singer
@Tv6Promotions *cough* The Fall of Troy *cough*
@blake2112 thats fine, i just thought i should shed light on the truth. sorry if i offended you. oh, and by no means did you even come close to "ruining" my evening.
wow this audience SUCKS!! i loveeeee mayday paradeee!!
they're not bad, but he was definately flat in places. i think the main problem is they ditched jason. he was the man
jason lancaster = best lyricist ever!
derek is good too
you can't even here Jakey's mic.
they need the other singer back... now
@Tv6Promotions Actualy there are alot of bands/artist that sound better live... BUT YEEAAH
@BrandonFite182
I couldn't care less anymore. (And I said "quality" not change in general)
You seem to take dissenting opinions of Mayday very personally, so I'mma just concede defeat and abstain from ruining your evening anymore.
*cough

@broncosruleusa agreed dude, without jason they just turn poppy ): major waste of great singing/playing, really.
