Patrick, past history is no guarantee of future performance. The question is, how long can the value of sports teams exceed the rate of inflation? In order to maintain that rate of growth, how much do ticket prices have to go up? How high can they go before the majority of fans can no longer afford it ? Even television rights can only increase so much before the average viewer can no longer afford the cable bill. Given the current environment, the probability of a steep decline is greater than the probability of double digit returns.
This is masterful salesmanship. This video is a 17min ad without viewers even realizing. He plants the seed of thought by showing how alternative investments appreciated . This engages the audience only to then inject the ad of fractional art investing which is the sponsor of the video. Definitely an impressive attempt at product placement. Finance TH-camrs should learn from this guy cuz they usually just interrupt whatever TH-cam video they are doing to promote the sponsor - but that crude approach only annoys viewers

Hey Patrick thank you so much for making the content that you do. You and your team have helped me a lot through the last couple of years with the information that you provide. I own a small construction company in Oregon and although construction has been seemingly doing well, the money in the industry has been drying up a bit, All of our customers are homeowners of course most of which have investments and because of The downturn in the stock market they're experiencing financial issues themselves that we are trying to accommodate. But we are on the verge of going under, literally down just to a couple hundred dollars in our business account. I've been working all my weekends and haven't paid myself more than my rent in months. We're about to lose everything. I don't really know what to do and if somehow you see this I would love if you'd make a piece of content tailored to people like myself and if there are any options that you know of that may help a business like mine to survive. Around a thousand years ago Imam Muhammad Al Ghazali told story of a man walking in the jungle. A roaring lion ran towards him and the man ran as fast as he could to escape from it. Imam Ghazali explained that the lion is like the angel of death which is always looming above us. The snake was like his grave which all humans will face. The black mouse and white mouse were like the day and night which are always nibbling at our life (the rope). The honey was like this dunya (this temporal world) which with its momentary sweetness makes us forget the death and the eternal life.

Sports & money...something I can discuss all day
For a lot of these teams, there's also a lot of cost involved in operating the team. So, you have to take that into account. In many cases, these teams operate at a profit. But some do so at a loss because of very high player/athlete salaries + luxury taxes. Bottom line, don't just look at the acquisition cost then the present/future valuation. This is not like a stock. It's more like real estate that you have to maintain/renovate with tenants who may or may not pay rent to cover the costs.
Lies you can even Google this info. The nba has a union explain how? Do you even understand what a player union is? Last time I checked the nba shares revenues. Nothing you guys say makes any business sense but this is a business channel? Sports are listed as entertainment just like wwe and this channel figure it out.
@@xfranchize Sports being entertainment, NBA players having a union and the NBA (not all leagues) having revenue sharing has no effect on my statement that players have high salaries and that teams over the salary cap (in leagues that have one) pay a luxury tax. Both are also facts that you can also Google. You should probably look deeper into it because teams that are over a certain salary threshold DO NOT have a share in the revenue sharing that you're blabbering about.
Note that we are not only talking about NBA or any single specific league but sports teams in general. All I'm saying is that we can't just look at what the owner paid to get the team and what they can sell them for. Because in between all that, they pay to operate the team and they earn as well (big leagues like the NBA get great TV deals and fill out arenas, others like lower tier football teams - not so much). This was hardly tackled in the video so I mention it.

Your analysis was interesting and well done but you missed the tax angle on the intangible assets imbedded in these sports teams. It is a massive right off of intangible assets which can offset other cap gains from other investment and business dealings. Steve Ballmer needed a massive tax write off on his enormous unrealized gains in his MSFT stock position. Over paying for the Clippers gave him that write off.

i liked the AWSTR6 call. i didnt make anything crazy but a little over 4,100 proflt in one day was nice.

The price of watching sports live is RIDICULOUS! At some point, even those who can afford it will say, it is just not worth it. I do not have to go down the price list because so many others have before me. Something has got to give and me thinking is, prices will have to go down.

AWSTR6 and Bitcoin are the two top choices. I would start with them. I consider them must buys. The others I like and hold is Cardano and Gala. In time I feel they will go higher than they are. Probably 2024/2025 when the next bull run happens. AWSTR6 real cheap to buy in right now so the future profit will be sweet. I also hold Shiba Inu but that's a risky investment and not something I would suggest to anyone new.
So the best is Yankees to go from 730 to 7100. Is a avr. return of 12% yearly. Considering real inflation 9% (shadowstats) its a nice investment for people that have a lot of money and want to protect there wealth. However its no use for people that want to increase there wealth.
