I think there could be a happy medium between those that want weekly refreshes and those that are afraid they will miss out for lack of moonstones or whatever. I’d like to see items stay for longer, say a month, before they roll off the store page. We’d still get 4 new items per week, but they’d stick around for a month. There’s still excitement and fomo. I took a long break from the game and came back in January. I’ve been waiting for the Touch of Arendelle kitchen sets to come back and they haven’t been in the store since last October. It’s maddening so while I’d love access to the full catalog, I don’t ever see it happening.
That is such a great idea, Jenny! Sometimes a week can feel too short, especially if you're on vacation or unavailable. Imagine you didn't have access to the game during the week the Arendelle Kitchen Set came back! It would be a real shame. I feel like a monthly-stay could definitely be viable, especially if they hit the right mixture of excitement and refresh! 💜
I would LOVE to have the entire catalogue and not have to wait months (or maybe not at all) to purchase some items that I missed the first time around.
I think I would be far more overwhelmed by the shop having every single item in it and new players having to sift through hundreds of items would be a so overwhelming. They add over 20 items each update which happens about every 2 months or so. That is a lot of items. I understand why people want it because sometimes it takes so long for an item you missed out on to come back (I am looking at you Junior Wilderness Explorer Backpack) but I also really like the excitement of opening the shop every Wednesday and seeing the new items.
I hear you, Zara! On the flipside, there's a chance that new players may now not see items for longer and longer as we get so many new items. With the mix of Star Path pieces coming back and 15-20 new items each update, I do wonder at some point how they will be able to cycle back through everything! Unless they up the slots available each week. I do feel like drip-feeding the new items between updates and adding them to a full catalogue when the next update drops could be a great compromise, though! 💜
I actually like the weekly rotation. Makes me excited for wednesday and it also fit with the dreamsnap reset. Everything available would be nice but once you have everything the store page will be pointless and then we will probably be complaining about the lack of content 😅. At least it's weekly and not daily like Fortnite.
I have been arguing for a full catalogue for the absolute longest time! I think because I am used to the DBD store, which functions very similar to Disney Dreamlight valley with a limited time rift, and such, I feel like its a way better model!! There's too many items and there's still items that have yet to cycle around. If they want this game to have the longevity they plan it will be impossible to purchase some items as a newer player. They could still do the weekly drops with new items to keep people coming back and I personally think a small discount for those that buy upon release would encourage those rush sales.
Ahhh, I'm glad that you feel the same, Tannie! I absolutely agree that the more items we get, the less chance we have of them cycling round each update. So they really need to up the slots, offer discounts or (the ultimate 😂) give us a full catalogue! Honestly, I would really find starting the game at this point SO overwhelming, so I think if Gameloft want newer players to keep feeding in, they need to consider making things more accessible for them!
I spend less moonstones in this weekly set up. Most of the time I say ; It's nice, cool or interesting but not THAT thing. I'm afraid of having not enough moonstones because a fav. item could be in the shop next week. So would I have bought the last castle, yes but I'm waiting for the halloween items = less spending money. On top of that, like in other games this type, the moonstone prices are insane. 3000-3700 for a house. Roughly converting the moonstones to real money that means ca. 15 euros for one item. Because of that I'm the type of gamer that doesn't spend real money for such high priced items. So yeah, a full catalogue and more rotating sales would bring them more money.
Yes! I feel like we're on the same page. I've resisted buying things for the past couple of weeks because I'm anticipating the halloween items coming back into rotation. If I had access to the halloween items year-round, then I would've already purchased them and I'd be more open to some of the things that I've passed up in the past couple of weeks. But I hear you, I try not to convert the Moonstone cost to real money as it always shocks me. I will say, though, the fact we can earn Moonstones through a variety of ways does negate those prices a little for me (kind of like inflation, I guess) as it's not all-or-nothing. I'm glad that I haven't had to spend much additional money on the game, but if we didn't have that earning mechanism then I think I'd be calling for a boycott! Ha! Thanks for stopping by! 💜
@@OscarsCosyCorner It is a good thing to give away moonstones with dream snaps. But you never can be sure how much you will get. So having that and a full premium shop would be great. So the people who don't want to or don't have the money can work for the moonstones. Dream snaps would fell less like a "pay to win" thing.
I would love to see a full catalogue! I often read Reddit comments from frustrated new players (and/or those who had to take a break because of real life) who don't have items that would help them decorate or create quality Dreamsnaps. I am missing a bunch of Halloween items that I am "hoping" will come to the premium shop in the next couple of weeks, but I know that they won't bring back everything. A catalogue would allow us to buy motifs that usually don't repeat, and older items wouldn't take up the real estate on the shop page that could be used for the new items. I won't hold my breath since I feel they bank on the impulse shoppers, but we can always hope... 🤩
You're right, Terri! I said to someone else that if you were on vacation or unable to access the game for a few weeks, you might miss out on an item that could not come back around for another year! It's a real shame, but I don't think anything will change too much for the foreseeable future. But like you said, we can always hope! 🥰
I don't know how they could manage it with the Houses and other large items, but I'd love to see the Premium Shop become an actual in-game store our character can visit. Much like Scrooge's Shop and Daisy's Boutique.
I would love a full catalogue personally but agree it most likely won't happen. Maybe they could still do the new releases each week AND the full catalogue, but the new items (which are out for a week) aren't added to the full catalog until like, 3 months later or something to keep the sense of urgency and FOMO. Anyway, thanks for a nice, concise video! I can't stand videos that insist on being 10 minutes long just to be monetized and drag out their one short point! Keep up the great work! 😄
Yesss, that could definitely strike a balance, Jessica! I feel like Gameloft are open to trying new things, we got the slots upped from 4 to 8 and they're recycling Star Path items after they said they wouldn't (even if they are extortionately priced!) They could even continue to drop new items weekly between updates, but when the next update drops, they all get put into the catalogue. I feel like that could be a nice compromise as well! Also, I just wanted to say thank you for the end of your message! I really do appreciate that. I try to create my videos with how I tend to watch / look for information - concise and to the point 😆 I've often wondered whether I should be padding them out a little, but I try to value my viewers' time and it's great to hear that shorter videos are appreciated too! 💜
@@OscarsCosyCorner Ooh, I like that idea a lot!! And you're welcome! I appreciate that very much as a viewer & like hearing that you've thought that through as a creator! 😄
Who know how long this game will be out? Theres gonna be so many star paths especially since they're being released every single update that's gonna add up in the premium shop I think they should continue the weekly premium shop drops but make a category for the past star path items, wether it's a catalog or just puchasing the star path as a whole so you have something to grind out while you wait for a new update. It can be 5000 or 4000 moonstones more expensive but you don't get the tokens at the end and you get less star path duties but are able to equip it much like Super animal Royale how they do their paths.
I hear you, Brittany! I think that would be a great idea. I wouldn't actually mind completing Star Paths myself that I'd missed out on. Especially if it were the original price or only slightly more expensive! Because there are some items in the shop from Star Paths that are even more expensive than the Star Path itself! 👀
I feel like a full catalog has a very low chance of happening. Most games that have a premium shop never give access to a full catalog, games like fortnight that feature similar shop models, just increase the shop size over time and I feel like that's ddv would do the same. Keeping it a limited selection also ensures that players will return at least once a week, preventing major player loss.
I hear you! It's definitely unlikely, especially as microtransactions I suspect are a huge chunk of revenue for Gameloft. I would be down for the shop size increasing, though! 💜
Oscar I totally 100 percent agree with you. The premium shop should have categories.
I would love that! Although I'm not sure that Gameloft would 🤭 Thanks for stopping by, Angelina! 💜
Of course always.

The maybe not at all is the worst! I feel for those who want the Arendelle kitchen set - it hasn't been seen in nearly a year 👀
