Open an account in a country beside russia, once a month go on a trip and pick up your money. Most banks but not all in Belarus are also under sanctions. You would have to go to Central Asia or like Armenia Georgia etc. It is still viable if you go once every three months not too bad.
@@SamsRussianAdventures You said a bank took half of your youtube money. 1500 dollars is a ton of money, i havent worried about a bill in my life but i take care of every dollar i make cause the more i can invest the more i make a year. Every single dollar invested makes more money.
Please note, that in Russia you can be asked for papers when transferring more than 600k rubles or close to it. So, if you use a friend or crypto(which is not legal in Russia), you better do not send more than 6k$ at once. You better receive a cache and put it to your card via ATM. Regarding crypto - there is a lot scammers even inside big crypto stocks, so better check twice and start with small amounts. I am using bybit for sending money to my Russian card and also tried once crypto exchange to cache - it went well, but minimum ammount is 3k$
There is one nuance: the card you are transferring money to must be issued by a bank that is not under sanctions. A while ago I I transferred money from the U.K. to Russia via Profee, but the card I to was issued by Ozon bank.

Fly through Dubai. Pick up a lot of gold. Fly to Moscow. No tax or fee to leave Dubai with gold, no tax or fee to enter Russia with gold. Last I checked, (a few years ago) you don't even have to declare gold, and there were no limits. Some banks will give you rubles for gold. Or, you can find a nice jeweler. I had one that would buy large amounts for spot. You may take a little haircut, but not near as much as the banks would take from you with currency.

There was a little exchange office open 24H. Next time I already have RUB and the Raifeisen debit card with me, so will be less hassle. You never about the border crossing time when going by car.
Honestly, this is all rather depressing. The options are limited and things are changing quickly, meaning that unsanctioned banks can become sanctioned in a matter of days. The various apps to transfer money are creepy. To me, the safest ways remain the $10,000 option and, as Sam says, relying on friends with relatives abroad. It's still very messy for those of us who have lives both in and outside of Russia and I guess things won't be changing soon.
It really is depressing 😔. My hubs is from Crimea. We live in US. His mom still lives in Crimea and we have been trying to figure out how to send her money!! When we do finally find something, it's like we are a step behind because it is no longer working. My hubs doesn't talk about it but I can feel his depression and frustration growing.

Ask them if they have torfx. Most UK banks do. Korona pay and profee allow you to transfer money from any bank, then from that point you can send it to Russia! Most UK banks also allow transfers to Raifheisen because it’s not sanctioned. It’s an Austrian bank.
That is approx the same, but not pounds Euro one I have accounts in the U.K. in Euro and here is Euro,dollar,yuan,Rubles, I also use OTP and bank of China
There is one more way, may not be for everybody. If the sender, recipient, or both, is a member of a religious community, you can sometimes use this religious community to transfer money from one country to another, this will requires that the religious community is represented in both countries.
I used to use Krona pay in the past but within the last 3 months they blocked sending money to Russia from uk is there a simple way to transfer money like krona pay online currently?

If I travel to Russia from UK for the first time what is the likelihood of many questions/ hassle by border guards? What type of questions would I be asked in a first time visit ?
Honestly I don’t know because I have never been asked any questions. At the end of the day they will just try to make sure you are visiting for the right reasons
When passing through the state border, state control bodies, in accordance with federal legislation, apply the following control methods: a) document verification; b) oral interview; c) getting explanations; d) observation; e) escort of vehicles, goods, goods and animals; f) inspection of vehicles, cargo, goods, animals and livestock products; g) inspection of vehicles, cargo and goods; h) personal search; i) inspection of premises and territory of checkpoints across the state border; k) sampling (samples) for research
The following simple rules will help you on the way: - Prepare all documents in advance (except for your passport, print out hotel reservations, addresses, etc.) - Do not panic and calmly answer all questions from an airport employee - Find a travel companion who knows the local language - And best of all, take a translator with you
Hello, I was told that you might be able to help me. I have been in Russia for many years but I have been going to the US to renew my Drivers License , any suggestions on how to go about getting a Russian one?
Unfortunately because the US is outside of the Vienna road traffic treaty, you cannot swap your license for a Russian one. You’ll need your take the driving test!
@@SamsRussianAdventures A and B class licences only require the knowledge tests, under the Vienna Treaty. All other classes require the road test as well. Apparently it all changes on 1 April, 2025. ГИББД couldn't tell me what the changes were. Just to get A and B before 1 April, 2025.
As far as pension payments go, let's address the USA pension: they will send it to a bank in your country of residence. If you have moved to Russia, e.g., and don't have a permanent address elsewhere, how do you get past the sanctions? Well, you need another permanent address that is not in a sanctioned country. AND if you don't want to lose 25% of your pension due to the US withholding it, be sure to pick one of the privileged 9 countries that are exempt from the withholding. Then make that address your permanent, vacation home and have your check sent there. Via online banking, you can use one of Sam's techniques to then transfer your funds to a Russian bank.
@@SamsRussianAdventures That assumes that you are entitled to have an American bank account. Having renounced my citizenship, I don't have that option. And a citizen would still have to have a permanent address in the US to receive their money there.
U can transfer to Kirgizian bank, they are joining the russian pay system "MIR" and they are not under sanctions yet. But u should open a bank account there from the distance or by coming personally. Gagauziya (a part of Moldaviya) also joined the russian pay system "MIR". Maybe they can transfer to Russia. One can fly via Serbia to Moscow and bring in cash but visa is needed.
You don’t understand it? Russian people have a problem sending money outside of Russia. You can send money from your foreign bank account to wherever they need money sending. Perhaps they have a child living outside Russia and need to support them. You can send their child money and then their parents can give you the money inside of Russia.

Gidday Sam, did anyone ever complement you by suggesting that when you are wearing that Hoodie you look like Rasputin ? 😊. Seriously, a very good Help Video on currency exchange. Thanks again Sam.
They've announced it multiple times but the Russian govt. is making it super difficult for them to leave. The more likely scenario is that the US gets fed up and sanctions them. Note that Canada sanctioned all the banks in Belarus, because one of the ways of transferring money was through a bank in Belarus. Now that Canada sanctioned them, a lot of western banks stopped doing transfers to them.
According to the law, if the transaction amount is 6 million rubles or more, the parties are required to provide certificates of origin of funds by filling out special declarations
There's a general rule in a lot of countries including Russia that they check deposits of more than $10,000. So yeah, how do you prove the source is legitimate after using a convoluted method of getting it there? With great difficulty, is the answer.
We transferred 50,000 pounds for land purchase sent in Euros and sent it to Raiffeisen but we have been using the bank for years and our U.K. bank compliance department has vetted us and we us it at least monthly 5 years I have had no problems sent at 8am U.K. arrived normally 3/4 hours, compliance takes 2 hours swift is about an hour and I pay all fees 20 pounds

Nice video thanks. Informative. Crypto is great because you are your own bank and you can send it to anyone in any country. And specifically Bitcoin because no government or bank can stop you from using it.
can I set up the bank account even though I’m not currently in Russia at the moment and start with money transfers into that bank account so it’s got enough money in there when I finally get there?
I would perhaps contact raifheisen to see if you can open an account. I opened it in Russia. You can of course take some money with you to Russia and then open a bank account when you arrive and transfer the rest.
Райфазинг банк вроде как заявил о сокращении своей деятельности в РФ.. но что именно там будет не понятно. Типа будем обслуживать клиентов и брать проценты по кредитам, но что то нове не будем делать
I think $10,000 is less risky, and if i need more, i can set up an account in Russia and transfer it over. Or cross the border and bring more over. Thanks for the information, Sam.
Hello, Sam!. I'm glad someone other then Eli who made a video on money transfer in/out of Russia, but I find yours a lot simpler to do. I have one question to you, for any potential investors in Russia, what do you need to know. Possibly a video on it.
Hi, it’s a difficult topic. When you say investing, what do you mean exactly? I don’t think that anyone should think about investing in Russia until they know enough about Russia to know about the risks of investing!
Me too, I use my UK bank (santander) to buy the crypto (coinbase) , then sell the crytpo to a third party (sendNOW) They then convert and send to my russian bank card (tinkoff)
U can send via Raiffaisen Bank to their Russian outlet but u should send IN EUROS. Otherwise comission is 50 %. Though, some said they will be prohibited to send to Russia from EU. They can send to Kirgizia. From Kirgiziian bank account to Russian. Kirgiziya joined the Russian pay system MIR.

It isnt like you have anything to do anyways.....Minsk, Belarus is 12 hours away which you could do easily do and you could do a youtube video in the capitol which you make more money from....like i said before plan ahead....you could have hotels you review for a free nights stay for months ahead of time....youtube is a business and you get back what you put into it....
I have no problems sending money to Russia! I don’t need an account in Belarus!
@@SamsRussianAdventures Unless one has residency, each time you leave you have to register stay again.
@@stanspb763 I'm confused s to what this is to do with sending money to Russia
Most banks but not all in Belarus are also under sanctions. You would have to go to Central Asia or like Armenia Georgia etc. It is still viable if you go once every three months not too bad.
@@SamsRussianAdventures You said a bank took half of your youtube money. 1500 dollars is a ton of money, i havent worried about a bill in my life but i take care of every dollar i make cause the more i can invest the more i make a year. Every single dollar invested makes more money.
Good one Sam thanks .very helpfull .
You’re welcome
Please note, that in Russia you can be asked for papers when transferring more than 600k rubles or close to it. So, if you use a friend or crypto(which is not legal in Russia), you better do not send more than 6k$ at once.
You better receive a cache and put it to your card via ATM.
Regarding crypto - there is a lot scammers even inside big crypto stocks, so better check twice and start with small amounts. I am using bybit for sending money to my Russian card and also tried once crypto exchange to cache - it went well, but minimum ammount is 3k$
Can you please elaborate how you use bybit to send money outside of Russia?
Can you do an updated version of this. Profee and many other ways you mentioned are not available now unlike when you uploaded this
My wife lives in Russia. After trying everything, It took me awhile to figure it out, but I use digital coin.
You are pure gold
Thank you
There is one nuance: the card you are transferring money to must be issued by a bank that is not under sanctions. A while ago I I transferred money from the U.K. to Russia via Profee, but the card I to was issued by Ozon bank.
Exactly. I recommend raifheisen but it’s also important to check which banks are able to be used.
@SamsRussianAdventures what do you do with your uk pension?
I will not transfer money to Russia, I live too far from beautiful Russia. I want to thank you for amazing adventures in villages with typical cultures. I enjoy your nice walks and talks around Vladimir. God bless your good work with health and happiness in your busy YT world. 😆👑 Vladimir in summer is full of pretty gardens, very well maintained.

What about little goldbar when arriving to russia, or diamonds? Only problem to find out were to cash them in russia but I think not hard
I don’t know! Why bring diamonds when you could just make a bank transfer
@@SamsRussianAdventures Thats true, I know one guy who put diamond under his skin as a emergency money but he was traveling in asia and afica
U will shine on x-ray in all airports checks. Expect a lot of questions. U will get a scrap value of your gold bar as there will be no means to check legality and purity of gold once its crossed the border

Hi Sam thanks for your reply❤ would be nice to have more details from someone who knows how it’s done. Like through Finland I had to sit down and work it fr me: flight to Helsinki , then bus in 3 hours which was nod bad in case of flight delays, then my friend booked a hotel in st.petersburg over night then sapsan train to Moscow next morning. through Turkey is a whole new route. Guess also a hotel upon arrival to Istanbul? Cuz the connecting flights are to spaced out and I would not want to sleep on the bench for 15 hours. And then the way back. Also the hotel again b4 going to London? Would b nice to know pppls experience
We flew through Cairo last May
Thanks very much Sam. Are there any Fintech banks in Russia equivalent to Wise or Revolut? So is it possible to open a bank account remotely or is it absolutely necessary to reside in Russia?
Thank you, Sam. It is a question on everyone's mind. Reiffheisen Bank/TorFX/Profee/Koronapay/Crypto. What about Venmo?

Hi everyone. Thanks for useful information. I want ask a dumb question. If sending to Raiffeisen bank account in Russia, do you need to declare it? EG. I send £200 to Russia (friends account) and then do they need to tell government about it or will government come knocking??
What about credit cards.. open a credit card that works in Russia from a different country close by and unsanctioned ?

how to spalle that bank wifi bank or what ??
I did the 1 and 2. Worked well. I cleared the border late (took 4,5 hours because I needed temporary import papers for my car) and had to exchange my EUR at midnight in St Petersburg. There was a little exchange office open 24H.
Next time I already have RUB and the Raifeisen debit card with me, so will be less hassle. You never about the border crossing time when going by car.
Border crossing with a car can take up to 6-8 hours, you can be lucky and do it in 20 minutes, I use to set about three hours to cross.
I know people are using all of these methods but typically sending small amounts. I agree mate.

What's the Raffeson bank transfer fees from Russia to UK?

That is approx the same, but not pounds Euro one I have accounts in the U.K. in Euro and here is Euro,dollar,yuan,Rubles, I also use OTP and bank of China
There is one more way, may not be for everybody. If the sender, recipient, or both, is a member of a religious community, you can sometimes use this religious community to transfer money from one country to another, this will requires that the religious community is represented in both countries.

a) document verification;
b) oral interview;
c) getting explanations;
d) observation;
e) escort of vehicles, goods, goods and animals;
f) inspection of vehicles, cargo, goods, animals and livestock products;
g) inspection of vehicles, cargo and goods;
h) personal search;

Your pension gets paid into your US bank and then just transfer it to Russia using one of the apps or other methods I mentioned
@@SamsRussianAdventures That assumes that you are entitled to have an American bank account. Having renounced my citizenship, I don't have that option. And a citizen would still have to have a permanent address in the US to receive their money there.

Райффайзен is winding down their business in Russia. They announced it.
As of now transfers are still working
They've announced it multiple times but the Russian govt. is making it super difficult for them to leave. The more likely scenario is that the US gets fed up and sanctions them. Note that Canada sanctioned all the banks in Belarus, because one of the ways of transferring money was through a bank in Belarus. Now that Canada sanctioned them, a lot of western banks stopped doing transfers to them.

Why would they not be considered legal? They are in a bank or in your hand!
