- The new exotic sniper rifle Still Hunt in The Final Shape in Destiny 2 is extremely unique and cool! But is it actually "insane" in PVP like many are saying? Let's break the new weapon down extensively and talk about its PVP potential in this weapon review.

I like how every other gun that requires you to charge it up resets on death, but Caydes doesn't.

In his defense wizards are absolute trolls about wiggling the MOMENT you squeeze the trigger but I laughed too, in shared pain
When you capture a point in comp and your class super is full it literally sucks your super energy away. I wonder if it's connected to that.

It looks like this sniper has severe reticle bounce from strafing. Too bad, it had potential to be fun! Obivously still great for pve tho
Hmm. One thing to note is that activating its super does also give you 3 bonus ammo, which could be pretty huge if you get it consistently. Combined with something like Speaker's Sight to generate an orb every 10s and/or a teammate or two building a bit into orb generation, it might actually be pretty solid. 12 orbs isn't *that* hard to pull off considering both Speaker's Sight and, for example, Echo of Undermining (Void fragment: Grenades Weaken) + Echo of Harvest (Void fragment: Weakened enemies drop an Orb and a Void Breach on kill (10s CD)) + Firepower (Arms mod: Grenade kills drop an Orb (10s CD)) + Magnetic Grenade (sticky, high tracking, 160 total damage w/ Undermining); any Void class can run that, and it's very easy to proc, particularly if you use weapons that deal high damage in a single shot... like Igneous Hammer, which is extremely strong and deals 88 damage on a crit; just enough to have a Magnetic Grenade kill.

wdym flinch nerf?flinch was *increased* and aim assist *decreased* on snipers 3 months ago and snipers and honestly every special have been killed by the dominance of shotguns.

Tbh the super thing is just a plus. Play primary and use the sniper for appropriate scenarios. If you get the super, cool, if not no biggie because the biggest draw is the 3 shots you get. In the hands of a good sniper that’s all you need. Not to mention it feels snappy. If they allow the extra ammo in trials it’s going to be meta. Guaranteed.
Snipers weren't used in trials due to ammo economy and becuz the mode centers around zones. With ammo economy no longer being a issue, sniper usage will go up.
You get any good rolls of better devils yet? I've got a PvE roll with frenzy and I've been enjoying it. Probably my favorite feeling strand cannon so far
Moving target + explosive payload feels good on pvp! I’d like a moving target + eye of the storm too
I just like this gun because it feels incredible to me in Crucible. 62 kills, 90% precision in just 6 games so far.
I want more weapons like this sniper being able to imbue supers into weapons is such a fun concept
Do a rocket for titans that gets enhanced by falling star cheat piece. GL for warlocks that gets buffed an exotic that buffs one of these supers or make a new one if none exist yet.

osmiomancy on stasis is also bugged and claws of ahamkara, if you have an exotic that gives you more than one charge for an ability that usually only has one charge sometimes your progress will get reset to one charge randomly
Jesus sniping someone in the middle of the Storm's Edge animation is straight nasty! Amazing shot. I would've just logged out after that one lol
Regardless of how long it takes to charge up the shot, activating it alone just feels really good because you know that your weapon will one hit anybody if you've got good enough aim

I'm not trying to name names lol but I've seen a couple influential PVP creators sing the praises of this gun and post very limited footage of it.

It is really nice in Gambit as a invasion weapon though, gain the stacks before invading, then unleash it. Symmetry is still better imo in this regard though, since it two taps and is more forgiving in the air.

The meta Loadouts are Izzy,1.2 punch lightweight and eager edge on Arc Titan or hunter with melee exotic.

from an ammo perspective? Just use Izzy LOL. 4 bullets gets you a one shot body kill. No headshots or sweating required. Now in the end you could turn 6 bullets into 3 goldy shots... but it's WAY more work
After trying the sniper myself, I really enjoy it! Definitely not to the level of my beloved, but the fact it gets 3 shots in 6s makes the sniper nerf a little more bearable. It gives more opportunities to snipe which makes it a really decent practice weapon if people want to try sniping.
I was playing with this gun yesterday and seemed to have trouble landing shots. I'd swear they were dud bullets that were perfectly lined up. I'm thinking skill issue but ima give it another whirl. I don't use snipers a lot these days and it's more likely my own fault lol. I hear you say that aim assist was changed but even so, I felt robbed of kills lol. I also get flinched an entire guardians height above their head.
Only used it in one game so far, (Supremacy) on Hunter, with the new Burst Hand Cannon. Liked it. Felt good. Can’t see how we’re gonna get the golden gun shots off. Almost got two normal supers before the game mercy’ed.

Great weapon, going to be more of a DPS in PvE than anything. Salt was top fragging damage during contest mode with this and a night hawk golden gun rotation.
I've been maining the gun and I've also had my bar reset for no reason and it's a huge bummer.
I'm pretty sure that one clip you used to emphasize the aim assist not doing anything you actually missed because he flinched you like a millisecond before you shot, I could be wrong tho
Can you test the 4 souls build I think there is other builds that is better

Seems more suited to Gambit than anything. As a Gambit enjoyer myself when I first saw the teaser video I was like “that’s gonna be busted!”
But thinking about it now Izanagi’s and Levi’s Breath already exist for body shot kills with basically unlimited ammo there already so it’s not really any stronger than those. Just maybe faster to get those 3 kills than the others. lol

I think they went overboard with the Sniper nerf - however, there is no world where I would ever call it a good idea to allow snipers to land shots through flinch.
The fact that someone can 1 shot you from half way across map is plenty strong enough by itself. You should have to be tactical and use good positioning to get that shot.

yup that's why i went back to my eye of sol because beloved was not counting as a head shot for me.
I would use the gun just because it handles so well, wouldn't expect to proc the GG shot in PVP unless there were unusual circumstances. It is so good in PVE, though, that it will be tough to take off.
You forgot that orbs picked up also account for percentage to the meter bar

Truthfully I miss the heck out of sniping competitively in Trials. Used to be a super satisfying part of this game. I have almost 3000 kills on my eye of sol and I’ve sadly vaulted it (big sad). Now I just use messenger and drang. This is fun, but not as fun as sniping tbh.
Fingers crossed that perhaps this weapon gets some remedial triage to both patch the retribution progress defect and improve its efficacy meaningfully in PvP. I love how snappy it gets as you make progress, but it feels like a mid-rolled Beloved most of the time. For using an exotic slot, I hope we can do better for such an iconic/flavorful weapon. At least give it Incandescent or something :)
A weapon like this would be op in pvp of they improved the meter for pvp. They should fix the bug but that's it.
Im loving it in PvP to be honest. I played only 5 games had a blast with rose
Not once have I ever thought since seeing this gun to use it in pvp. The requirements just LOOKED way to strict to actually be fun and successfully used.
I've been playing pvp since forsaken & I have to be honest. The changes to sniper rifles in pvp are a blessing! There's much more variety of gun play now that snipers don't auto delete you! No matter how well you tried to counter play them in the past, with the connections we have in D2, it was a nightmare!
I very much disagree there’s even less variety esp now since half the snipers in the game realllllly don’t work esp god forbid you use a 140 rpm. Sniper have been touched too hard either reduce the flinch if we are keeping sniper dmg low or increase the dmg back up to shadow keep levels. And now with primary’s being more powerful nesting d1 values it would keep your ability to counter snipers just as well as now without gimping snipers themselfs
"Much more variety" lol. Everyone and their grandmother use shotguns. Always have and always will be the easiest and most convenient of the special weapons to use in destiny especially in 6's. Zero aim or pre thought required.
I haven't touched pvp with it but in pve it actually feels really good to use

This gun pairs well with a prismatic build, I tend to prefer it during PVE content as the ability to fire two golden gun shots is fantastic for my dps rotation
You have to get orbs too but most likely you could farm people in trials to get it

nobody was saying its insane in pvp lol, it's a sniper, its absolute ceiling is low B tier. we want it for using celestial in pve.

Idk I know sniping isn't where it used to be. I've never been particularly good at it and I definitely had more success sniping in D1 vice D2 but this gun feels crisp and I've got more headshot kills with it in one night than I have in a LONG time.
The nerf to snipers was long overdue.

This gun is Gold(hehe) on pve, but the sandbox really hates snipers right now(June 2024) on pvp

Small nitpick...but do you think it's slightly misleading, anti shotgun bias, to state that shotguns are over 1000% more than snipers, while true statement, it translates to 10% in trials kills..
It seems pretty average for a sniper in pvp but really isn't worth it as legendaries are better, I'd say, either count headshots on players as two for the super progress, or buff sharpshooter to actually do something

What a shocker that you actually have to aim straight to the head to get a head-shot!! and that you also get flinch like hell when your aiming, huh. Funny how a sniper behaves like a sniper in pvp.
to be clear i didn't say that anything about that was wrong or unfair, i just noted that that's what bungie did with snipers and that's not how things used to be. used to be an ear shot was a headshot and a neck shot used to be a headshot but now it's considered an upper body shot. i never said they needed to revert anything though.
@@TrueVanguard i enjoy your videos btw, Snipers are opportunistic Weapons and it rewards you for shooting straight to the head and yes i understand that they used to be a lot easier to land but we cant have guardians running like crazy landing crazy shots everywhere even on the air and still land those shots, Smipers are very well balanced and this Still Hunt was designed for PVE in mind.
@@beyza64jssnipers are not very well balanced! There's a reason 90% of specials used in PvP are shotguns. How bout nerfing movement speed when carrying a 1 hit kill heavy shotgun? So it's a lot more challenging to sneak up on people and get cheap , zero aim needed, 1 hit kills? All the apes in this game would be soooo upset then.

It doesn't matter how good this weapon is or not. Because we all know any piece of gear in this game that's powerful and fun to use will get called out by the elitist donuts on how easy it's making the game and Bungle will respond with nerfing the gear into oblivion.

I do think Bungie has been doing a good job in the past couple years to make interesting and fun exotics for PVE without changing how it works in Crucible, they just aren't as viable.

Pve sniper. Even still out of the two pvp videos on this people are getting the perk up average twice a match and actually use it effectively. Seems like your video title is also just to grab views so how does that make you different from them?

To be fair, I've used a few "PvE" guns in PvP because they felt good to shoot/use (Izanagi's Burden, Witherhoard, etc.)

i was disappointed when the gun got announced. it feels like it was made for one person at bungie that wanted a golden gun sniper and bungie just got tired of them asking to add it so they reluctantly let them add it. it has basically no place in pvp or pve (celestial nighthawk interaction is cool but still gimmicky). really weird gun concept.
