You CAN build a linked planner in OneNote. Today I will show you how, using the month of November as an example. We will build out a long term calendar, a decorated monthly overview or dashboard, a weekly decorated templated page and a daily decorated templated page for each day of the month of November. All of these pages will have links to each other as well as link to other important pages in OneNote and on the web. This is a highly requested video so I hope you enjoy it.
Hi, I’m Crystal. Welcome to a Crystal Clear Life where we talk about planning, organizing and living a more simplified life. I use Microsoft OneNote 365 to create functional and decorative planners and notebooks to help keep my life organized. OneNote is awesome because it crosses all platforms so I can use it on my desktop PC, my iPad and my Android phone. That way I am never without my planner! Hope you enjoy.

Thank you very much ma'am.
Most welcome 😊Glad you are finding this helpful!
This is great Crystal. Thank you for showing us how to do this. There are so many TH-cam videos that show "What" OneNote does, but very few that show you "HOW" to use it. I"m a big OneNote fan and this was very helpful. Can't wait to try these tips this weekend.
Have fun planning this weekend. Another tip is you can populate lists in Excel for more standard dates if that's something that you're looking for. Then copy that Excel list into OneNote to create the linked pages. There will be a video on this coming out soon. But you can enjoy the sneak peek
I am so glad I've found your channel. I've been a OneNote skeptic because I didn't think it was set up for someone like me, until your efforts have persuaded me to give it another look. I spent the weekend migrating from other tools and setting up page links in a brand new Notebook. It's going very well so far. I adore your teaching style and the way you pull in PowerPoint to assist in doing what you need done. Very ingenious. Keep up the great work. I will keep watching!
Welcome aboard! I am glad I could help. OneNote is very flexible and a great way to bring it all together, in my opinion. 🥰
love the easy tabs idea, can then easily and quickly copy the links to any page, great time saver thanks
You're welcome! I love it!🥰
Great tips ! I love making my own Planner in One note each month.
Me too!😂 Using page templates makes it easier for creating the automatic links. Thanks for being a loyal watcher. I appreciate you. 🙂
Thank you very much Crystal! I loved this new one, you covered so many things. Great tips 🙏❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for your kind words. 😊
Crystal, this is an awesome video! Thank you for including so much detail. This is definitely going to help me when I start making my 2024 planner.
Your very welcome. I hope it is helpful to you. I like to set things up month by month, but you could do a year at a time. Thanks for watching and subscribing.
Thank you so much for this video
Your very welcome. Thanks for watching and subscribing.😊
Excellent! Thank you! The tip were fantastic.
Glad it was helpful! I appreciate you being a subscriber and watching this week's video.
Great video as always.
Must have been telepathy. 😄 I was playing around in OneNote with setting up a 2024 planner for a while now. Gonna give digital planning a try. Your video came at the right time. Thank you for your tips.
That is awesome! I hope it works out for you! When I first started I did both, just to be sure! 😄 🤣
Dear Madame , Wonderful, You seem to be most creative and productive user of OneNote, and really i get inspiration from your posts. Plese make a very detailed VDO starting from which one note u use , how and where u take designing aspect, and what is your daily workflow -
Thanks a lot 😊 I appreciate your comments and your video idea. I will work on it. Thanks for watching.
Love this but do you you have a video going over how to get the two page layout design for the planner?
I do! Thanks for asking. Herre is the link th-cam.com/video/OVg2wlWvy6Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YZhWaNovTnSK0HtK
I hope this helps. I love the look of the 2 pages with the black background, but this year I am trying to fit me days of the week into one long table. We will see how it goes. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm a visual learner and must see examples. This was very helpful for me. By any chance would you be able to do a video where images are the hyperlink. I can not find any info that I can follow or get to work. Thanking you in advance. Deb.
Great suggestion! I will do my best. Thanks for watching!
Hi @CrystalClearLife - great video. Do you of this as downloadable .one templates?
Hey, thanks for watching. I currently do not sell my planners. I really didn't know there would be an interest in them. Here is a link to last year's setup that might give you more details to set yours up. th-cam.com/video/uBx55w2ckm0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Sau7YKobAJh7XoHd
Love this video! One thing I wonder about the links you make on the sides to weeks and other places, how to get rid of the blue default color? And thank you so much Crystal for sharing!
Good question! I set up the font and color that I wanted and then I used the format painter brush to copy that format to each of my links. Thanks for watching and subscribing!😊
Now when you say😄... I think you showed it in the video, so thank you for the repetition 🤎
No problem, we all miss things now and then. 😊
@@CrystalClearLife Hi again! I now see that this trick with personal coloring of links isn't working in the Jenuine Studios notebook. But it works in a notebook made by myself.
Hi! I have made ONE page with links everywhere, then I just have to link to this one and only page throughout my whole planner/planners and don't have to link everything on every page. Then you can use show screen and get more space. Will try this for a while!
Sounds great! Works like a index or table of contents!? Please keep me posted on how this works out for you. Excited to hear!☺️
@@CrystalClearLife So far so good! My Shortcut-page grows and grows because it can be filled with links even outside the current Notebook and even to Internet and to files on my laptop, and so on...
And I have also learnt a way to get this main link I call "Shortcuts" to show up in every Page Name right on the very page, but without seeing it appear in the list of pages on the side. That's so cool!
Here is how I do;
I name my page as usual. Then I paste the link I want to be in the header to the right after the page name. After that I go to the left side of the link and press Shift+Enter. Then the link moves to the next line in the header and wont be seen in the pagelist! Sometimes a symbol of the Enter will appear, but that is pretty easy to get rid of afterwards.
I'm sorry I can't put a screenshot of it here to make it more visible.
Love your channel!
CRYSTAL i LOVE THE IDEA OF MAKING MY OWN PLANNER BUT i NEED TO VIDEO ON HOW TO DO THEBACKGROUND PAGE IN POWERPOINT, PLEASE

Here you go. For more details, check out my 2024 playlist.
@CrystalClearLife. Where can I download this August dashboard from I really like the setup
Thank you, I appreciate your compliment. 🥰Currently I do not sell my planner pages, but my Januaury set up video coming out this weekend will walk you through setting up your own if you would like. Lots of people have asked about purchasing a planner from me, looks like I might have a new project this year! 🤣
thank you for your note. Can you tell me or show me how to add vertical text in OneNote (Week 1). Thanks. Not sure if line will come through to you or not.
To create the vertical text like you see for my cleaning zones in week one, I’ll create that text in PowerPoint and rotate it to the position that I want. Then I simply copy and paste it into OneNote. Hope this helps.
how or where did you get the page that has the spiral that everything appears to be embedded in? Really enjoyed your video!!
Well......
If I had reviewed more of your videos I would have found the answer. Thank yo for sharing - love your work!
I made it, I hope you found the video. I would recommend you star with the 2024 playlist where I tried to break it all down. Thanks for watching. 🥰
GM, I've started thinking about my 2024 setup, too, and im so indecisive about it, lol!! On your August dashboard, how did you get the zones turned sideways??? 😮
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR PLANNING STYLE!
I wrote them in PowerPoint and rotated the text and then copied and pasted into OneNote just like I do my icons. Thanks for watching! 😊 I appreciate you being a subscriber.
You're so sweet, thank you!🥰
@CrystalClearLife oooooo OK, 😊 thank you! I will be so glad when onenote decides to update the picture 📸 tools and other minor updates!!
TS:3:24 Here you talked about setting up a monthly Dashboard. You didn't set one up. You just used the one you brought forward from the previous calendar. I have no clue how you got that open book thing in there. What am I missing? I started building this from scratch. I don't have any previous Cal. I am doing Portrait mode too. I'm trying to follow you as I go. You have a lot of things that I really don't need being single. Hmmm lol, what do I do now?
Hi and thanks for watching. I am glad you are settling up your own planner in OneNote. My 2024 planner set up videos are coming this week. But last year's January setup might be just what you are looking for. th-cam.com/video/uBx55w2ckm0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Sau7YKobAJh7XoHd
It is difficult to put everything in one video, so I tend to break them into manageable chunks. I hope this helps.
I have just started with onenote and I would love to move from my paper planner to a digital planner. However, I really don´t know where to start. So much information... Any advice?
I have a video on my channel of moving from paper to digital and basically I help you recreate your favorite paper planner Page by breaking down and analyzing how you could do that in digital format. Another suggestion I would have is to start with my 2024 playlist at the beginning where I go through each step of me setting up my digital notebook for 2024. That might help. You don't have to make yours look like mine but you can add the information that you need from your paper planner. I hope this helps and keep me posted on your progress. 😊 thanks for watching.
How will it look on IPad 12.9 pro? Will you still get the 2 page view?
I have not tried an iPad pro but I would assume it would work the same. 😊 let me know if you try it. Thanks for watching.
Very good video! I would like to know how you can link to your inbox emails.
Thanks for the question. I use a Google Gmail account so in my browser I bring up that account to my inbox. Then I copy the URL, then I take it back to OneNote and paste it into the link box. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for watching and subscribing!😊
@@CrystalClearLife thank you very much for taking the time to answer 🙏
Your welcome 😊
Can you show how to actually build it from start to finish? Not just the purpose it is used for?
Check out the 2024 playlist. I have videos breaking everything down step by step for you. They started in Dec. I also just started a new "crafting quilt planner" that shows the steps as well. Thanks for your comment.
