James Arness who played the part of the Thing scared the Hell out of me when I first saw the film

This looks good, but I love John Carpenter's The Thing. It's just a shame they didn't go with Carpenter's sequel, he wanted to continue the story with MacReady and Childs.

A sci-fi classic that continues to entertain today because it is well-written and suspenseful. One of the most chilling parts of the movie wasn't even filmed- as one of the surviving scientists from the ill-fated greenhouse watch describes what he saw happened to his colleagues. This disturbing mental image is revisited when Capt. Henry confronts Dr. Carrington about his blood-fertilizer experiments.

Captain Hendry uses cockpit procedural management throughout the entire movie.
His leadership is unquestioned but he relies heavily on the ideas, input and information offered by his subordinates.

Kenneth Toby played a prominent role in the movie as I recall?

I remember seeing this in the 70s as a 10 year old on TV for the first time. Couldn't sleep the whole night.

Scared me as a kid too!! When I first saw the Thing The Incredible Hulk was on T V back then, I would've love to see a battle between The Thing from another World and The Incredible Hulk would be a great match, however I think The Thing could beat the MCU Hulk!!!💪👍🤢

Yep, I saw it in the 70's too. I remember watching, back in the 90's, my future mother-in-law and my future wife's uncle jump off the couch when the green house door was opened and the Thing was standing in the door way. They were watching on a little 13" television. That is a true jump-scare!

I love this movie and Rio Bravo. Watch them over and over. I think both movies show people working together and honestly caring about each other. 😁👍
