The white PC Engine also came with 4.5mm game bit screws in it. So if yours are Phillips, then they were changed at some point. It's also rare for the white pce and coregrafx systems to have bad Capacitors. So that's interesting that they were bad. They must be finally starting to fail in some units.
I'm not sure the ones in the Core Grafx were bad, but rather the audio being routed back through the Super CD-ROM2 that definitely has known bad caps in the audio stage. I should have really tested them separately!
