Those two nicely equipped trucks really put standard truck beds to shame. The big three truck makers are now putting huge efforts into fancy tailgates but should be putting effort into built in storage like you have.
I have a norstar sd on an 06 ram 3500 58" CA and I can fit a husky 562 and 550 in the top side box at the same time. They are not the full wrap handles if they were they definitely would not fit. Great looking set of trucks nicely set up!
My next pickup is def gonna be a 5500. Personally to I prefer more upper realestate on my flat bed. I had my flatbed custom fitted to my current 3500 and instead of a metal flatbed I have fir for the bed. I have one toolbox I gotta restore and plan on getting more.
Good video. I just want to give some friendly advice incase you are running 15W40 in either of these 5th Gen Ram's. Don't. Run 5W40 or 10W30 as recommended by Cummins. The new HLA's will absolutely eat shit if you use the wrong oil and that's a 8k to 35k repair if they go south.
I've never talked with an engineer designing a truck so I will never know, but am I the only one wondering why can't all trucks be cab and chassis. So that way people who up fit trucks can get any trim package they want?
It's probably a money thing. They make more money by having more options/different setups. Every truck having a cab and chassis frame would make so much sense but it's far too late for this. Would've loved a cab and chassis 2500..

That deep red sure does class up the rig a bit, I don't think the comparison would look as stark if both trucks were contractor white.
that nor star bed is fire
Color matched flatbeds always look the best
Not knocking your truck a bit but Bobby Jay has 1 badass work truck!
my 24v with an old cm makes me feel like a bossman on the way to my apprenticeship

That 3500 is mint! I might have to make a replica of it.
LTC trailers Waco Texas gives great prices on beds and Diamond C trailers. Love the news I bought from them 10 years ago

“That’s what she said…ahh man….cracked me up”-
Did you ever find a way to resolve the issue with the muffler causing too much heat on the rear box?
@@MakersMettle yeah extending the exhaust out passed the box. I made a video on it
Is the 3500 is considered as a "small pickup" so not needed to do smog test twice a year ?
14k gvwr, just skates under those regulations fortunately
Both fantastic trucks
Loved the video
I have the same addiction Bobby does! LOL 8) --gary

Bcuz 99.9% of truck buyers dont want that 🤦
You can order a single wheel 2500 or 3500 single or dual from the factory as a cab & chassis & then have whatever bed you want installed.
Dimond c dump trailer or ed dump
