Lady Jessica was the character I could most immerse myself in, the performance, screen presence, mystique, but also empathy were on another level to me
This gem of a woman, artist, mother, IS the film for me 🖤 She is extraordinary as the Lady Jessica. And as herself, she oozes such charisma and humour. I’m so excited to see more 🙌🏾
Rebecca Ferguson has such an articulate and thoughtful way of describing the process going into her role. Yet, she'll drop the word "redonculous" in there. 4:44 Charming. :)
The subtle yet clear expressions on her face during this interview are wonderful and I think part of what makes her so good as Jessica. When she's talking about her cast mates the glee is obvious. It's also cool to see the difference between this intervand the press tour. Here she is obviously in the middle of filming this calm character and in work mode, also probably tired. She got to sit down and have a serious long convo about the film. During the tour she's been off filming other things, sometimes having to video call into interviews from halfway around the world. She's facing a constant rotation of interviewers and probably very repetitive questions. There she's quick, off the cuff and charming/disarming her counterparts left and right, also probably tired.
The Bene Gesserit were like soft power in this movie. Seductive. Lady Jessica pushed narratives to the underclasses, while the other one hypnotized and mesmerized Feyd to pro-create and secured more prospective leaders. In a way, they were the scariest of the villains because they were not overtly violent, but covertly controlling.
She is great to listen to. She really has a grasp of movie making but, better, she can explain it to you and you want to listen because she is so engaged with it. Great stuff.
I think both would feel comparison to the other was a great compliment. Blanchett has a bigger body of work, more awards, but certainly knows who Ferguson is. As well as Emily Blunt, another Tom Cruise leading lady - who most of the world audience saw excel with Cruise in "Live, Die, Repeat".
So I was quite sure that it would be well acted the moment I read that Rebecca Ferguson was going to play the character. But otherwise I totally agree with you.
@@petrfiala7653 It quite crazy with Rebecca Ferguson, I didn't recognise her and thought Dune was the first time I'd seen her but then it dawned on me, I've seen her in loads of stuff like Life, Mission Impossible etc
Everytime i see her in a movie i'm overwhelmed, like Stendhal Syndrome or something like that. Man what a unique cinematic beauty, a masterclass from the Lord.
Before i saw dune 1, i completly felt they had miscast her..and then after seeing the movie, i realized she was perfect as Lady Jessica. After seing part 2 now, her and Timothy both did a top notch job..academy award caliber performances....cant see anyone else being lady jessica now.
May I ask why you thought it was miscast? Rebecca is a great actress, although I didn't expect how well she performed her role in both Dune movies. I'm really interested in the reason
@@petrfiala7653 As a fan of the 84 Lynch Dune, I really liked the actress who portrayed Lady Jessica, so much so I wanted (Before I saw the new one) an actress with the same grace and look as Francesca Annis did in Lynch's dune. I reread the books every couple of years and in my minds eye I always saw Francesca as Lady Jessica...so I had her pegged as the character. Rebecca at first look doesn't have that same appearance or grace (Some would say stiffness ) Francesca did...but after seeing the new movie, she is much more relatable and less aloof...and maybe more realistic and also closer to what the book had in mind in the first place. Long winded yeah? but there you go.
If they do get to make the adaptation of BEST SERVED COLD Rebecca Ferguson will blow people's minds as Monza Murcatto. Provided the movie is good, of course. I would much rather see it as a ten episode series.
Is it me or do you guys think this woman would be a great casting her as The Banshee Queen herself Sylvanas Windrunner on another live action WOW movie? that voice just nails it
Very interesting comment that Jessica watches the path unfold, lets it happenand goes with it to the best advantage for her children, whereas Paul just makes it happen and forces the path to go his way.
A women that is one of the few that both guys and gals see is going to be in a movie, a show draws great interest..and maybe they planned on watching Dune or Silo or MI-7 anyways, but her being in it brings an "oh good!". In interviews, generous with praise of others, funny, gorgeous, smart, intense, loves talking about brutal training as prep for doing most her own stunts. Wish she had been around in Craig Ferguson's prime!
The screenplay is quite different than the book. It portrays Jessica very differently. The Bene Gesserit have an element of martial arts, the Weirding Way, as part of their discipline which is largely omitted. In this adaptation Jessica is portrayed as a much more vulnerable person. I agree with her comments on costuming. Excellent! When I saw the movie this time the theater was empty except for one other person. This does not bode well for a sequel.
Just out of curiosity, which country or city do you live in? In our country, the cinemas are almost full, you cannot buy tickets before the screening, and the way I see it, the success is worldwide. That's why I was surprised that the cinema was empty.
The movie has made $500,000+ and rising just shy of two weeks, and it has become a cultural phenomenon. We are getting a third movie to close this trilogy, without a doubt.
Love Rebecca Ferguson. Great actress and classical Swedish beauty. I was wondering if Lady Jessica was becoming evil in Part Two. Her voice when she became angry and snapped at people. Wonder if its related to her discovering that she is a Harkonnen by descent.
The biggest sin ever happen in the cinema history is her amazing Ilsa Faust character being killed off by the Mission Impossible dead reckoning part 1 film 💔💔💔😡😡😡
Rebecca Ferguson is having a tough time, she played an important character in 2 parts of Dune, then she added the main role in the Silo series, which she stole for herself, before that, again, a great role in Mission Impossible. I am very glad that this great actress and at the same time a beautiful and charismatic woman has been seen so much in recent years.

Her voice is amazing, could listen all day and she was terrific in the movie
you took the comment away from my fingertips.
Lady Jessica was the character I could most immerse myself in, the performance, screen presence, mystique, but also empathy were on another level to me
timeless, she nailed it
You could see that she lives the character she portrays. Such a genius human being. She deserves an OSCAR!
Stunning beauty, so perfect yet so unique, and great voice too: altogether there is something so classy and hypnotic about her...overwordly.
rebecca ferguson being lady jessica was perfection. no one else could play the role like she did.

The fucking fabrics 😂

When Mohiam says about how she councilled The Emperor to exterminate The Atreides bloodline that was so cold. It gave me chills. Literally.

She's so friggin awesome.. Love you Rebecca and the art of acting you bring to film 🙏
RF is an amazing person. It's entertaining to watch her. Like Cate Blanchett. The depth of their thinking and skills as actors.

I
Could listen to
This woman talk forever. She is mesmerizing and so intelligent and passionate about her world. 🥰
I just love this woman very much.
She got that natural nordic beauty plus her intelligence and humor... 😍Oh boy I'm in love
Absolute scene stealer! Could not take my eyes off of her and wanted more!
She has amazing hair
Lord, she’s absolutely beautiful.
Listening to her voice is ASMR, and looking at her... well that's something different altogether 😍
Lol the ASMR thing is kinda true especially in this video because it's recorded in some kind of weird stereo lol
I can't believe the Rock yelled at her or was it Tom Cruise?
How badass is this woman. Big character in the best Sci-Fi movie out right now (Dune), and main character in the best Sci-Fi show right now (Silo)
Amazing work in dune 2!! She is killing it
That water of life scene she did was so creepy but done so well. I wasnt sure about her as Lady Jessica but she absolutely smashed her role.
So I was quite sure that it would be well acted the moment I read that Rebecca Ferguson was going to play the character. But otherwise I totally agree with you.

Holy geez, she’s so beautiful and talented.
She has a very nice, poetic way to describe the movie things. I like it.
She’s Swedish and yet she’s the most eloquent English speaker I’ve ever heard! Such a phenomenal actress and person!
I like how she was actually getting into character towards the end.
Her perfomance in the movie is fantastic. Go watch this one at the theater if you can.
Oscar for Rebecca as Jessica
Wow, what a film and what a woman!
I love her in an unhealthy way. But I will persevere ❤
She is absolutely stunning ❤
I would absolutely drink the waters of life from her... hand !
She carried this movie
She’s got stunning eyes 👀
She stole every scene in the movie
Sge always reminds me of Ingrid Bergman and her daughter, Isabella Rossellini.
Rebecca Ferguson is greatly casted for Lady Jessica
All actors awesome performed their roles but Rebecca played best .
I think of Rebecca Ferguson as this generations Helen Mirren. Fantastic actor.
Everytime i see her in a movie i'm overwhelmed, like Stendhal Syndrome or something like that. Man what a unique cinematic beauty, a masterclass from the Lord.

"I will cover my face for him". That is the hottest thing I have ever heard a woman say.
Her character is fantastic. She did a fantastic job.

Her eyes are……….. i dont even have words to describe her eyes
Rebecca 😍
Drinking the blue worm piss and the resultant pain and torture was pretty realistic 😮😊
Rebecca Ferguson has The Voice in real life
Rebecca should consider trying asmr. As several famous others have. Pitch the idea 😮🤩🌟

It's telling when the acters feel proud to be part of something.
I love that Women, she remind me Ingrid Bergman and Deborah Kerr.
she is such a smoke show wow
What is it about her?
She is so incredibly captivating
She might be the most attractive person of all time
She is a goddess.
Love Rebecca Ferguson. Great actress and classical Swedish beauty. I was wondering if Lady Jessica was becoming evil in Part Two. Her voice when she became angry and snapped at people. Wonder if its related to her discovering that she is a Harkonnen by descent.
Wasn’t it that her daughter spoke in her? That’s how I read the books. Aila was an abomination and became fairly vile later in the story
@@makaan5516 I've only just bought the books not read them yet. Didn't realise that's what was happening.
Her eyes are still blue from all that spice. A frewomen.
Smashhhh
It's so unfair she has the face, the voice, and the eloquence.
The biggest sin ever happen in the cinema history is her amazing Ilsa Faust character being killed off by the Mission Impossible dead reckoning part 1 film 💔💔💔😡😡😡
Maybe they killed her so she could become Lady Jessica.
15 seconds of intro is dirty.
😘
I fucking hate Dune
The movie was mostly boring but her performance was perfect
