Quick lesson on samples because so many of ya'll don't seem to understand: according to avid, "Samples in music are small segments of sound extracted from recordings, which can be manipulated and reused in various ways to create new pieces of music." Sampling is a widely accepted practice, in both kpop and out of it. Almost every song you've heard contains a few samples. Samples can be a melodies, voice recordings, random sounds, spoken words, sounds effects (try to notice how "crash" sounds in every song sound almost the same, that's because they use the same sample) Samples are of two types: Royalty samples and royalty free. Royalty samples are paid and if you use them, you need to list the sample producers in the credits for the song. On the other hand royalty free samples do not need any prior permission or payment to use. KSHMR's samples are royalty free, mostly Now, is sampling legal? Is it plagiarism? Sampling is NOT plagiarism by any stretch of the imagination. It's a small segment used to draw inspiration from, and to base a song on. It's perfectly legal as long as you follow the rules. Why is KSHMR in here so much? Who is he? KSHMR is a popular indian producer, who released widely popular samples called "sounds of KSHMR" Popular songs like money by lisa, hip by mamamoo, stay tonight by chungha, Maria by hwasa all sample KSHMR. He is evidently some kpop producers' favorite. That's it i hope this helped!
Stop hating or being sad. If these samples weren't used by KQ, they would have been a wastage. They used it and created masterpieces. Not all artists can do that. Keep enjoying Ateez songs rather than crying. Also, KSHMR makes these pieces and distributes for free so that it will be easier for producers to make songs. His work is being used in the best way possible. Appreciate it.
For everyone in the comments not understanding music production: In modern music very few sounds are fully "made by the producer" of a song. Modern day producers make songs from existing samples (this way when you make a song you don't need to run around recording elephants in a zoo, people yelling in the market, rare middle eastern melodies and 15 different musicians to make a live recording of all the instrument sounds you need) What Edenary is using isn't even samples taken from other songs but from SAMPLE PACKS, those are collections of short clips usually 5-20s long that other producers who specialise in it/vocalists and vocal actors/audio archivists and journalist, etc. make and sell for others to use in their songs. A classical composer writes a whole new piece on traditional instruments, a moder music producer makes a song from a set of buildings blocks called samples because most of modern music is made in computer programs and doesn't rely on live real instrument sounds.
using sample pack in music production made your music life is to short for me in the first look paradigm is best ateez song but after 1 week i dont play it so much and now i play The World EP.2: Outlaw every day in last 6 months
@@Squeaky_potato he's very much alive and healthy lol, 35 years old and ranks pretty high in the lists of best DJs, i first got to know about him when he featured for a game and another fun fact, he's of indian descent so that makes sense how many of his samples include indian sounds, one of them is in blind by ateez and super by seventeen (bhaaji lelo)

music production is so cool, you get to make cool ass songs out of a bunch of building blocks and create banger after banger….. i love u music i love u samples i love u ateez
How do they find these samples? some of the comments makes it seem like samples from these artists are commonplace, but I can't imagine myself finding these songs/samples in a million years and am sitting here imagining Hoongjoon sitting listening to thousands of samples to find these gems
The guitar loop in Dancing with Butterfly Wings is also used in Pentagon's Genius. If you're in to ATEEZ for Jongho's vocals and haven't delved into Pentagon, I highly recommend it. When Jongho was voted the 3rd best main vocalist in kpop, Jinho was ranked number 2. He's has over 50 professional music covers under the title Magazine Ho. Their second main vocal, Hui, is also a vocal powerhouse. Covers I'd recommend for each: Gethsemane and When I was Your Man for Jinho, Boy in Time Piano ver and Kill This Love for Hui.

0:51 Aren't there any other samples used in The Black Cat Nero besides the kshmr group shout? Because I swear I hear something very similar to Brazilian funk in Hongjoong's dance break part.
I dont get it 😭😭 Is using sample okay and legal in music industry? I thought all of ateez songs + every part of it were purely composed only by Edenary team 😭😭😭 sorry but I'm kinda disappointed knowing this fact
using samples are normal and legal in the music industry 😅it's fine you dont know but now you know (some of these are very recognizable when you hear other kpop groups songs too because KSHMR samples are often used)
@@fujiharamigiwa4034sometimes there are “sample packs” that producers can purchase that they are able to modify and use as they wish, thus many producers can purchase and use the same samples legally. or there’s times when specific songs are sampled, this is when the producers would need consent/permission from the original artist/producer and then also credit them on the new song for it to be legal. plagiarism is when in the second example, the original artist/producers are NOT credited and the new producers are claiming the sample as their original work. hope this helps clarify it a bit! 😊
I'm a bit upset now, so many really cool key sounds in such huge songs weren't actually written by KQ family... oh well :""> I know using samples is totally fine, and you also need to know when and how to use them right, it's just when you think about how The Great and Powerful Wonderland itself mainly consists of samples... it just makes me sad. it’s literally not that deep why are you sad😭, hongjoong and mingi are still a big part of writing and composing almost all of ateez’s songs, obviously like you said using samples are fine and ateez always adds their own touch to it and uses it right
It's interesting to spot samples especially when used by different artists to see how they were used! Nothing to be upset about, many many songs include a lot of samples because, as we can also see from this vid, they are small snippets in a whole song afterall!
i don't think you know how samples work. you make something using another little snippet into another big and beautiful thing, quite like any other artform, actually. dancing and drawing never quite have something "original" either. tell me you don't know how art works, without telling me you don't know how art works
just to put it in perspective, the number of totally original songs with no sampling in the world is probably some unfathomably absurdly small percentage
Why sad? It's just a matter of you know or not know, the sample is free, many other music listener that love to remix music should have been recognize all that sample If you already know it before, you will not like ateez song? To make a whole song based on that sample alone also not easy, believe me 😊

so work and eenie meenie have the same samples! 4:00
I second
