    This 6 minute video took less then a minute to upload with the speeds I showed in the video!! Amazing.

      The speeds are incredible! My old internet provider would take almost 4 hours to upload a 3 minute video

    Heavy raining or snowing will absolutely stop starlink from working. Like while it's falling. Thick airborne precipitation can and will interrupt the signal. I know this to be true. Because it is happening to me as I type these words. Usually it's awesome though. Takes HEAVY precip to temporarily stop it.
    It's not the snow on the dish. It's the scattering of the radio signal in the air.

    My experience is snow is no problem, although it does slow it down a bit. A real blizzard with a foot of snow and high winds can cause some quick interruptions. Possibly due to wind shaking the dish more than anything. When the snow drifts up over the edges and freezes it in place you have to shovel the snow away.

      In my area we don’t typically see blizzard conditions regularly, but they do happen. I think starlink will only get better with time!

    All winter, the Starlink dish can consume up to 150 Watts of electricity, 24 hours a day.
    You will see the difference on your electricity bill

    We just got 4 inches of wet, heavy, sticky snow that the heater in the dish couldn’t keep up with. Put it into stow mode and brushed it off (gently). Working great again. Not ideal but easy enough to get my wife working from home again. They still get 5 stars from us!

    I LIVE IN COLORADO AND MY DISH RECEIVED ABOUT AN INCH OR SO OF SNOW LAST NIGHT. TOOK AWHILE THIS MORNING TO ACCESS THE SIGNAL. I USE SOLAR PANELS-GENERATOR BACK-UP, SO THUS THE DELAY ON MELTING THE SNOW FROM THE DISH. I DO NOT KEEP POWER TO THE MODEM WHEN NOT IN USE- THUS THE SNOW PROBLEM! CAN NOT BITCH- WHEN ITIS ON -IT IS GREAT... THANKS, JOHN.....CAN YOU MANUALLY REMOVE THE SNOW FROM THE DISH?

    • @joemartinez7630
      @joemartinez7630  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure if you can sweep the snow off the dish. I see on the news Colorado received quite a bit of snow with this latest storm. I have the dish set to the default heat option. So I assume it’s using power even when not in use.

  • @pierregregoire9709

    Does the Gen 2 dish detect if there is snow on it and turn the heating only then. Or is it heating as soon the tempeture drop

    • @joemartinez7630
      @joemartinez7630  ปีที่แล้ว

      Q. I live in an area with heavy rain, snow, or wind-can I still use Starlink?
      A. Your Starlink will detect and melt snow that falls directly on it, however accumulating snow around your Starlink may block the field of view. We recommend installing Starlink in a location that avoids snow build-up and other obstructions from blocking the field of view. Heavy rain or wind can also affect your satellite internet connection, potentially leading to slower speeds or a rare outage.

      That is very high in elevation. The dish does have a heat mode too help with the snow but you still may need to sweep it off from time to time.

      Make sure to open you app and see if you have the heater mode turned on. It will heat up the satellite when it detects snow.
