The Belt drive is good for a city bike. I hope they make another version but with gears for those who like a little off road cycling. Also wish they didn't remove the suspensions.
How can you drive with such a seating position? Very low driver position even when the seat is pulled out to the maximum. Uncomfortable position causes leg pain.

About the same weight as a Brompton ebike. Now if only it could food as small, because the 20" folders don't fit my train overhead compartments. Personally I wouldn't want a hub motor if only to change a popped tube without extra tools to disconnect the motor. With a middrive you're also able to add internal gear hub, or upgrade/swap wheel/tire
I love the ado beast bike that im tempted to get later this year. I prefer its metal fully formed mudguards which is a shame this bike not used same ones.
🚲🔀🌳 While the belt drive is great for city biking, I'm intrigued by the idea of a version with gears for off-road cycling enthusiasts. It would offer more versatility and the ability to conquer different terrains. However, I do share your sentiment about the suspension being removed. It's an essential feature for a smoother and more comfortable ride, especially when tackling rough paths. It would be interesting to see if future iterations of this folding eBike take these factors into consideration. 🤔✨🔧
I think for the customers IT was a nice idea if the gear ratio could be changed via Software, so you can drive 25 to 30 kmh without Pedal too much With the disadvantage IT will be Start harder
Thanks for this interesting review. Can you say more about the differences between the assist levels? At 2:57 in your video you show a page of the manual that says that the bike only assists after pedaling to 6 km/h and that assistance in PAS1 ends at 15km/h and in PAS2 at 20 km/h. That would be strange for a bike with a torque sensor, where you would expect to get assist right from the start and where usually all assist levels go to 25km/h, being differentiated by the amount of assistance they give (e.g. 70%, 120% and 250%).
@@ADO_Official Does this really mean that the motor does not assist when starting, even though the bike has only got one gear? That would not be very usable. In addition, a torque sensor also doesn't make much sense if the motor support stops at 15 and 20 km/h in the first two modes, just like with a simple motion sensor.
@tubenstefan Whoah, just saw your comment and thanks - you stopped me making a mistake and buying the Ado Air! That delayed assist is a dealbreaker for me. I use an e-bike because of arthritis in the knee and assistance from the start, when there is most pressure on the joint, is vital. 6kmh is way too late. Such a nice bike otherwise it's a shame.
so, is this battery blocked somehow? or can anybody just take it off, while im not around for a moment? not a problem, if its not to big, I can take it with me, right?
I'd like to see a real world test as to the bikes 'real' range with riding with inclines to see some accurate figures on the bikes range. Manufacturers seem to give us figures under perfectly flat, no wind etc., conditions.
That monitor was crystal clear on a daylight! I love that this is lighter than any other 20inch ebike out there. I was able to try the ado a20 & the pedal assist was very responsive compared to fiido & himo so I bet it’s the same with this model. I just wished they could have used a suspension fork like with the A20. In manila, the roads are a bit bumpy so this would definitely add comfort. Lastly, I prefer if this has a throttle so I have better control of the speed instead of an abrupt speed by the pedal assist which is not applicable if you’re in a crowded street.
@artsyarte So you had no bother getting off from a standing start? I have a bad knee so pedal assist has got to kick it at once. The torque sensor on the Fiido d21 does that brilliantly (my current bike) - how does the Ado Air manage it?
@@longjon120 From what I remember from the demo, himo was probably in the 3-4-second mark before the pedal assist kicked in on a 15-degree uphill. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
@@ADO_Official Thanks for the reply, but how does 250W and single gear mean it's easy to climb? It's hard to pedal in single high gear, and motor only has so much power. How much torque does it have?
@@MarkizVonSchnitzel Hello! As ADO Air is equipped with a smart torque sensor system that provides you immediate power assistance according to terrain. In this case, even if you ride or start the ride on an incline, you will get the assistance you need immediately with 3 levels of electrical power to assist your ride. What's more, the figure of the torque is 37NM. for CE version(250W) and 42NM. for International version(350W).
@@MarkizVonSchnitzel I have a Fiido d21 with torque sensor and in assist mode 3 it gives a lot of help on hills. However it is a geared bike. Like you i wish the reviewer had spent less time gushing about the details and more on how a fixed gear torque drive feels
It's a single-speed e-bike with modern carbon belt and torque sensors. Of course there is no problem with the design, you can adjust the height that suits you according to your own height.
Not true. The Carbo X has been out for several years and has a carbon belt, carbon fiber frame and is foldable. ADO copied their whole design basically. I've owned a Carbo X and Carbo S for several years and highly recommend them. No need to wait for this ADO Air bike.
@@Jordan-cl9xr It's cheaper due to much cheaper parts. The Carbo X is premium Japanese carbon fiber and practically indestructible. I've owned one for over 2 years and it is still running like day 1. I put it through extreme stress testing, riding down hills, off jumps, in all types of weather conditions in NYC and I never had problems with it at all. The Carbo is also about 5 lbs light than the ADO, which is significant if you have to lift it up several flights of stairs anytime you want to use it. Plus you can get an angled stem to sit more upright, which is more comfortable on the Carbo. This ADO only has a vertical stem with a longer reach so it won't be as comfortable. The only reason I'd consider buying this ADO is if it can be unlocked for the speed and go faster than 30mph. If that is the case then it is attractive to me. I want a balance between speed, lightness and portability.
345Wh is plenty imho, real range should be around 80km, how much would you like? I think for a list mile vehicle or commuting this is more than enough, but I guess if you only want to charge it every other day? ~ Chris
100 km is actually an overkill for a commuter or city bike because most distances are under 10 km. If you need to travel 20+ km on a bike, then another type of bike is recommended. Those go up to 45 km/h legally, but you have to have a driving licence, a number plate, get insurance, and wear a special helmet. Those cost several thousand EUR but most rarely go above 100 km range.

Is there any magnet or strap to keep the bike folded? How does it stay folded when moved around?
yes, sure! magnet😄
There is no catch or strap etc, when folded the bike just flops around.
Pay $20 for the magnet that most cheap folding bikes have.
looks like the 40% discount is up. bummer..
So, single gear? How many teeth on the chainring and the sprocket? I don't think it can climb hills all that well?
ADO Air is single-speed with belt drive and torque sensor so it's easy to climb hills
@@ADO_Official Thanks for the reply, but how does 250W and single gear mean it's easy to climb? It's hard to pedal in single high gear, and motor only has so much power. How much torque does it have?
@@MarkizVonSchnitzel 250w is much more than most people can do with their legs, so it should be fine
Have not seen evidence of steep hill climbing.
What's more, the figure of the torque is 37NM. for CE version(250W) and 42NM. for International version(350W).
how does it do climbing hills?
It's rideable, this bike is also a torque sensor so it's a little easier to ride😀
@@ADO_Official How does having a torque sensor help with hill climbing?
@@MarkizVonSchnitzel I have a Fiido d21 with torque sensor and in assist mode 3 it gives a lot of help on hills. However it is a geared bike. Like you i wish the reviewer had spent less time gushing about the details and more on how a fixed gear torque drive feels
@Jonathan Long I purchased one and will review it when it arrives
Has it arrived yet? Looking forward to your review 👍
It's a single-speed e-bike with modern carbon belt and torque sensors. Of course there is no problem with the design, you can adjust the height that suits you according to your own height.
nice vid
hmmm looks almost identical to the Carbo X but a thousand dollars cheaper.
Looks like a replica using cheap components😂
How much and Nepal
Is there any ebike this guy doesn't like? He seems overly enthusiastic about all of them.
Shame they don't have an option with gears 😢
Cost of this bike
No little stand under the front drive cog to protect it when folded, it sits on the chain cover. 👎
these bikes are heavy af i have one mine came without phone holder and pump.
Alloy wheels should have been on this bike, spokes require too much maintenance.
⚡⚡⚡
Appear to be ghost pedaling at low speed, pity no gears. Otherwise great bike
yes, Above 22km/h, high cadence will occur.
Seat is far too low if thats the maximum.
Not true. The Carbo X has been out for several years and has a carbon belt, carbon fiber frame and is foldable. ADO copied their whole design basically. I've owned a Carbo X and Carbo S for several years and highly recommend them. No need to wait for this ADO Air bike.
They may be similar in design, but the Ado has more range, and if you get it on their crowdfunding page now it's significantly cheaper.
Totally agree. It’s dangerously similar to the Carbo bike. How is this even allowed…?
It is indeed 90% similar to Carbo X. This business practice does not seem very ethical.🤣
Do we need licence to ride in UK? As my taxes need to pay?
of course x 100+
Seems very quiet.
Too much bike and not enough electric. My NIU has a 72v 65ah battery goes much further and faster. Foldable is good though.
345Wh is plenty imho, real range should be around 80km, how much would you like? I think for a list mile vehicle or commuting this is more than enough, but I guess if you only want to charge it every other day?
~ Chris
Samsung battery with a 100km range, which is more than enough for commuters
100 km is actually an overkill for a commuter or city bike because most distances are under 10 km. If you need to travel 20+ km on a bike, then another type of bike is recommended. Those go up to 45 km/h legally, but you have to have a driving licence, a number plate, get insurance, and wear a special helmet. Those cost several thousand EUR but most rarely go above 100 km range.
@@TechMagnet You should know 80km is BS, you will get half of that. The battery is not big.
That’s not really a fair comparison right? This is a bike not a scooter
third
Too bad that it is made in China.
Keine Federgabel, gefederte Sattelstütze nicht montierbar wegen Akku, schlechte Übersetzung, schlechtes Fahrrad 😮 🤢🤮
