A pity the video realization did not realized at the time how this would become a historic document and that it would be way better to just show the musicians playing instead of all those visual effects...
This never gets old. First time I saw it, I booked a night club in Pittsburgh that had formally been a church and brought the Retrowave trio from Buffalo “Divine Machine” to play for a bunch of ravers.
I got a chance to see and hear them live, and get their autographs when they were getting off their Tour Bus in Boston! It was June 26 86. Then to Providence R.I. with my wife. A Geart show we even met one of the new members while we were at a pizza shop. that was the next night on the 27th. Then one more time in Ohio in Columbus. The theater was Round and so was the Stage. So there were aisles leading to the stage and of course the band came down mine!! Plus, the Stage rotated slowly during the perfomance . Plus, we all love TD for our personal taste.
This band is a brilliant reflection of an era. A stupendous wave laden with paradoxes from which obscurantism and the irrational escape, hypnotic factors defying vulnerable souls in search of the infinity. This musical architecture is a translucid and short tunnel that leads to light 🤠
Incredible!… And by the way, the tape recorder on stage is not for recording, but for tape-delay and echo effects as the term “digital” still meant “manipulated by the fingers or hands” and so digital-delay units were still a ways off.
Tape decks, even ones with regular cassettes are awesome for atmospheric sounds, especially if the tape recorder is oxidised. Tape decks and analogue delay is awesome. Loads of that kind of stuff here: th-cam.com/video/cFETnb52r4I/w-d-xo.html Love music with samples and such, but I´ve never been a sampler kindof guy, not experimental enough :)
Incredible, Amazing dreaming atmospheres.perfect for mind and soul .every time i listen to this music i feel extraordinary, incredible ,huge emotions.music from heaven.greetings from Treviso Italy
THE classical music of the planet during the Brain and Virgin days. No composer(s) in that (those) genre did anything half as compelling during the latter half of the 20th. Froese always was interested only in movement, and in stark, clear imagery. TD were masters at slowing experience down just to better reveal it...
This is insane ,misterious horror, but simple máster piece, tangerine dream sounds! They where definly brain pluged-conected, including the syntetizers ..... and hundred millions and millions like me ,you! To enjoy this flying to the natural sounds f universe
The original video on BBC did not include the original audio and was simply Ricochet with a montage of random video clips.... this is the BBC video with the original audio.... there is no video of the original concert as is.
Thanks for posting this version! I'm wondering if this extended version is available on DVD. So far, all I've found on DVD is the 27+ minute version with the Ricochet album used as the soundtrack.
Early PPG stuff, too, in addition to what others have posted. The 'Projekt Elektronik' stuff was, basically, bespoke modules which slotted into the Moog systems; never available commercially. When Hans Zimmer purchased Chris Franke's Moog system, many years later, he was pissed off that much of it wasn't Moog at all!
Definitely one of their best all-time live albums !
❤TD Universe...
I Tangerine Dream ci hanno fatto comprendere quanto è immenso l'Universo! Fantastici!
I can't even imagine how ahead of its time this must have seemed in 1975.
Habe Sie live gesehen in Dresden ( November 1983) ! Danach habe ich Sie vor einem Hotel getroffen, und mich mit E. Froese unterhalten!😊
Gosh. I was at this and remember being totally captivated by the concert. Wonderful!!
Otherworldly, mysterious and at the same time very symphonic. TD is truly one of a kind.
Thank you for putting this together with the original soundtrack after all these years with the Ricochet version...
❤

This is one of The Best things I ever Heard in my life.....
Podziękowania dla pana Redaktora Jerzego Kordowicza za to, że nie pierwszy raz słucham TD. Jednak pierwszy raz dzisiaj oglądam.
Tangerine Dream was a gate to mankind, from other beings.

They sound good, too🤔

Sequencer?... No thanks, we are Tangerine Dream...
What do you mean? There is definitely sequencer in this. Yes, good old analog sequencers.

Great wonderful sound, great video, but again the video doesn't match the music. Lots of keyboard actions you just don't hear, like at 9:04-9:14

where is this church located?
Coventry UK
In your mind
Which instruments were used in concert
from what im seeing, their moog modular/projekt elektronik, vcs3 maybe a prophet 5 (i didnt see it anywhere but i know they have one) mellotron
@@tuxedo1557 Too early for prophet 5, but also EMS Synthi A, Elka organ, Fender Rhodes and possibly ARP 2600.
@@Lineageholder That sounds about right, heard from some other sources they had those
@@Lineageholder Ooooh, I got the synthi a and the vcs3 mixed up

But is this really the concert they gave at Coventry Cathedral? Where can I get the bootleg?

it seems sound does not match the images ?!??
See comments above. There is no original audio, alas.
