I also have a quad like this. Its a 2000 Scrambler 410 4x4 2 stroke. My aunt used to own this and she blew the first motor in it. Then she replaced it with a 410. I really love my quad.
@@trailbandit5054 i applaud you for doing that kind of riding with a 400 i cant do riding like that comfortably because the front end pops up really easy
Nice!! I need to shoot a riding Video on mine. I have a 99 400 4x4 that’s almost mint. Bought it from original owner and still has OG tires on it. I had no idea these old 2 strokes were so much fun!! I wouldn’t trade mine for a brand new quad. I do want a pipe and change the clutching some. I wish it would engage a little harder at slow speed
JohnnyRebKy you can install a new spring in the clutch so it engages harder at lower speeds, I think it is a Polaris white spring? I’m not certain but changing out the spring in the clutch would defiantly help out.
Badass how does it do on the trails we have a Polaris Trail Boss 325 with a Yamaha 570 twin snowmobile engine my Yamaha Raptor 660r Yamaha 600 twin snowmobile engine my brothers 300ex moms Yamaha Moto 4 350 my wife's Suzuki Quad Runner 250 and my 3 year old son has a 50cc All Terrain ATV Cooler

Snowmobile engine works perfect
Two strokes are fast, knda fuel thirsty and simpler. But top ends won't last nearly as long as a four.
@@trailbandit5054 I love my 99

JohnnyRebKy yeah these 2 strokes can definitely move once they are rolling!! Pipe and clutch would definitely help on the bottom end

Hey man, I have the same thing I love it!!!
I'm getting one tomorrow wish me luck!
I have a 96 that just blew a motor. Piston murdered itself so RCR top end kit it is.
I had a 96 to them the transmission blew so I replaced it then the first ride out on a new tranny the motor blew 🤧
He owns your exact ATV
I love this thing

I have the exact same thing except a 2001, doing a bottom end rebuild right now. Have you had any issues with yours?
Model RC Nice!! No issues with mines but I am thinking of converting to premix.
Trail Bandit I have converted mine to premix, it’s pretty easy. I use klotz r-50 racing oil and I mix 32/1
Model RC how long did it take to do the job?
Trail Bandit maybe 30 minutes. It really is just plugging up hoses
Model RC okay, will look into doing it next week. Thank you!
Got one just like it and it sounds the exact same lol
Same
I just got a 2000 scrambler 2x4 400, and it spends way to much gas, how do I fix that? Its also a 2 stroke
Also, check your floats specifically
I just got a 400 2x4 polaris scrambler any main problems them quads have that i should fix before rideing
Austin Kathan no they are great quads as long as they are well maintained, may oil injection delete, but that’s preference.
i blew an engine cruising on the beach because i wasnt alternating the throttle according to the polaris shop
