    I placed the order for this bike well before any of this situation was in sight, it just happened to arrive with not so great timing. I'm aware these are complicated times for very many. I honestly struggled to decide if I wanted to publish this video now, I realize many people have been harshly affected in health and financially, but ultimately, TH-cam has been a mental escape to happier things for me, so as hope it is for you, I opted to publish the video now. I really do hope this does not come across as insensitive, and instead its a little dosage of stoke to help with isolation and lack of riding.
    I still haven't gotten to ride the bike beyond a quick lap around to block to check if everything was OK. Next video on it is going to have to wait until after we can ride freely.
    Cheers everyone and stay safe.

    • @kfivemtb
      @kfivemtb 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      not insensitive at all, as you tube is an escape for you, it is for many others, even people who are sick right now probably are smiling as they watch your video. thanks for posting :)

    Great choice. Have a 2019 Jeffsy CF Pro 29er. It’s an awesome bike and haven’t regretted going direct-to-consumer for a second. Enjoy!

    I just got my 2020 CF Pro a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Going 29er was a game changer for me. This thing pedals up great and when your point it down it gets even better. Congrats my dude!

      Great to hear! I'm stoked to get used to the 29er. The demos I did blew my mind, so much easier to do everything. Congrats on the new purchase, sick bike! Did you go for the green or black?

    • @mattedger
      @mattedger 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      BlindstuffMTB black. I liked the green but my size was backordered until May. The stealthy black does not disappoint anyway so it’s no big deal.

      @@mattedger I think I would have also gone for the black. That green looks awesome, but its definitely a risky choice. Its one of those that is either epic or a disappointment in person haha.

    I bought a 2019 Jeffsy and love it , the ride hides some of my mediocre riding skills, only downside is e thirteen dropper which has side flex, creaks and sticks. Value for money is phenomenal.

    • @BlindstuffMTB
      @BlindstuffMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I never got to try the e13 dropper, sorry to hear it's not that great. If it ever croaks check out PNW components.

    I’m really impressed with these. I had made the decision to get a 27.5 Jeffsey. Only reason I ended up passing is the availability issue. Congrats man! New bike looks awesome. I think the geometry changes from the last Jeffsy to the new one really made a big difference. The new 29 Jeffsy was on my shortlist to replace my 27 Jeffsy also. You'll love that tire combo as well. I've been running it on my Jeffsy for awhile and it's a great east coast tire combo.

    • @BlindstuffMTB
      @BlindstuffMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think so too! The anti-squat they added and reducing the progressiveness seems to be what this bike needed. I spent so much time reading geo charts and linkagedesign.blogspot.com/ and I think this is my style based on what I've liked before.
      I love this tire combo as well, been running that for like 2 years, bulletproof!

    Nice and enjoy.., I sold my 2018 Spectral in January and bought a 2019 RM Instinct carbon 90 BC as a leftover. List was $6100.00 and i paid 3620.00 including shipping, came from shop in Idaho , sold the stock alloy wheels for $200.00 and put on some new XA carbon wheels and RF 800 carbon bars, the rest is stock. To be honest much more than i need but its an awesome bike, climbs better than the Spectral and barely a pedal strike with the 170 cranks vs the 175. I have Stamp 11 pedals, yeah $$$$ but light and only buy once, FOX 36 so much better than the Spectral fork as is the rear shock. Got $1700.00 for the Spectral so i rode it a year for 700.00.
    Dont be paranoid about the COVID thing, i think its blown out of proportion. I had it about 3 months ago, fever and BAD cough at the end, self quarantined for 3 weeks total, just really back into riding and getting some endurance the last month, need to drop some inactivity and COVID weight, other than that i am fine

      The DHR is a phenomenal tire for the places that warrant it.
      You know, I tried the 2.5 and didn't think it was that much grippier. I'd rather run the 2.3 on my home trails, and if I ever feel like I need a bigger tire for a trip of something, I'd go for something in 2.5 and more aggressive than the aggresor.
      I may make it 160 in the future, swaping the airshaft is easy. Want to ride it like this first and see if its worth it.

    Nice bike dude!!! What do you recommend on how to choose your tires? Got stocks on my hardtail but looking to upgrade soon. Thanks!

    • @BlindstuffMTB
      @BlindstuffMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Hendrik! Choosing tires is mainly on the purpose you're going to be using them for and how to balance grip vs rolling resistance. Its not exactly true, but you can considered that a simplified approach is that more grip is more rolling resistance, so faster rolling tire for XC will have less grip, while grippy tires for DH will be slower. Find your happy medium amongst that.
      The front tire you can get away with a much more aggressive tire without feeling the drag so much, the rear is really noticeable due to pedaling.
      I'm a fan of Maxxis because they're bullet proof, but the truth is that theres a bunch of good brands out there. If you give me some more detail about where you live what type of riidng you do, etc, I can help with more specifics.

    • @Vandercross87
      @Vandercross87 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      BlindstuffMTB thanks man! I live in Belgium so a lot of XC close to home and nothing too steep here, but I could use just a bit more grip than I have now with my stocks on there. Although peddling here remains important since its quite some ground to cover. But we will be heading up to the Ardennes a few times this summer so some extra grip could come in useful! I’m actually looking for the sweet spot between peddling and grip since I’m saving for a new fully too and don’t wish to spend money on extra set of rims & tires for the hardtail. Thanks for the advice man!

    If you do mind my asking, what guided you to this bike versus a Canyon Strive or Spectral?

    • @BlindstuffMTB
      @BlindstuffMTB  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've ridden Canyon bikes a few times and while they did everything super well, they just didn't capture me, that's of course subjective, but just no my style. Also, the geometry feels a bit dated to me, for example, the seat tube angle looks like it hasn't been updated in years.
      That doesn't mean at all that Canyon bikes aren't good, on the contrary, I'd say they're really good, just not the right fit for me.
