What makes me confused is that they were friends for 10 years, and even after all those years Jiyoung did nothing? A friend of 10 years wouldn't stand back and let her "friend" get mistreated, a true friend would stand up for their other friends (ESPECIALLY if the friendship has been 10 years long).
I don't stan Bol4, but seeing how they had been friends for 10 years and then suddenly Jiyoung just drops Jiyoon after she leaves, yea, not the best look. Also not surprised that Bol4's music isn't getting the same amount of views it did after Jiyoon's departure
Ji Yoon was my bias due to her personality and amazing dancing. Watching her get downplayed all the time was annoying. And seeing the way Jiyoung always low-key would try to steal the attention when they had interviews, was never a fan of her's.
Yeah, a true friend also would share if she would left the company. Jiyoon didn't even told jiyoung that she would leave the company. She found this out from the company, not from jiyoon.
So technically jiyoung don't just drop jiyoon just like that. Instead jiyoon were the one who left without even telling her partner. How do you expect her to "stand up" for jiyoon if this doesn't came out from jiyoon's mouth herself?

It’s so sad to say but it was like it was a one girl show and she was just there as her best friend and playing instruments but wish it didn’t have to break up there friendship, I really liked them. Wish both of them the best tho❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🌈

If you didnt follow them like for the beginning most people wouldn't know cuz the singer outshine her by a lot. And to be honest they used to be 4, that's why the bol4 stand for that.

1:13. This is wrong. They were not "trainees" for a music company when BOL4 started. They met and became friends in high school and one day Jiyoung confessed to Jiyoon her secret desire to become a singer. Soon after Jiyoon put a band together through their hometown music academy and then asked Jiyoung to be the lead singer. BOL4 came to the public's attention when the band competed on the SupertarK6 TV program. From this exposure BOL4 was then a featured artist for two songs by other artists and also released The Covered Up Road fir the Misaeng OST. All these songs just featured Jiyoung. A few months later they signed with the music company.
When I found out about this group a few years back, I was really curious why Jiyoon didn't get any lines. She can't even have a decent amount of screen time. I agree with most comments that the spotlight was too focused on Jiyoung. The unfair treatment is a valid reason for the disbandment.
Main reason was inequality
2021 it's a year that groups disband i mean: iz*one, Gfriend, Clc, WITZ, Enoi, Seven O'clock, 1Team, Hotshot, Black6ix, B.O.Y, Berry Good, Xum, now Bol4 and Got7 left JYP (everyone all together) and there's still 4 months until 2022 ;-;
BOL4 disbanded way before 2021 I believe so this doesn't apply to them but it is true that a lot of groups came to an end around this year

Well I thought Jiyoung was soloist then I realized it was just an unfair treatment when Jiyoon was the one to always bring a guitar and play the music for her and turned out to be her guitarist . It was better for both of them to just disband coz jiyoon always looks awkward and out of place when attending a show coz she doesnt get much attention like Jiyoung does coz of how people treat them unequally

Ngl,when i first stan them i found it off for Yoon to just sit there and play the guiter. The guiter wasn't even needed at some point cuz there was instrument at the back. She was just there,unappreciated. So i think this is the best for her
I remember listing to "Tell Me You Love Me" and thinking why does one girl have barely any lines.. I always knew that it was a duo group but it still surprised me to see the difference in treatment.

I got this feeling already way back years ago and turns out it's true. I think it's not just about bol4 duo set-up being unfair, but i rlly thought until now that jiyoung treatment to her co-member jiyoon is not fine or good whtevr u call it😔 it makes sense why their friendship also disbanded
People don't seem to know that BOL4 was founded by Jiyoung and Jiyoon while in high school and they decided that Jiyoung was the lead vocalist and Jiyoon was the backup vocalist/rapper. This is the act that got them a contract with a company. There are other acts like this and nobody cares about it being unfair because they have small fan bases and no big hit songs. When BOL4 signed they were still a "cover" band and they had to learn how to compose and produce their own music. And then, besides having arguably the best vocal color in SK, Jiyoung turned out to be a talented composer who wrote big hit after big hit. Jiyoon composed only a few of BOL4's song, and although those songs are great, none of them turned out to be hits. As they performed for larger and larger audiences the imbalance became much more noticeable. On their last two comebacks Jiyoon seemed to be contributing less and less. I wasn't surprised that she decided to leave.
That makes the company’s attempt of keeping the name BOL4 for jiyoung after Jiyoon left even more f up

It hurt a lot when i heard Bol4 dissbned and wht it makes more sad and heart breaking they have 10yeas being togther its so precious but being a shadow at all times it hurt your pride as an artist or as an idol......its really heart breaking when they unfollow each other 😭
.That's why many idols before debuting they get their face done. There's plenty of groups that the idols aren't good looking and they're doing horrible before and after debut, nobody care that munch and so on.. Even tho some of their music videos are incredible.

Hey!! We don't know if their friendship really did come to end. If I'm jiyoung, even if we're become best friend again i would reluctantly follow jiyoon on ig to avoid more conflicts. Jiyoon’s manager had to grab her guitar so he’s late so she was not covered from the rain is a weak excuse. Jiyoung manager can easily grab both of them under one umbrella. Both can be wet a bit but it’s still better than letting one member completely on her own. As a manager, Jiyoung’s manager fail at his job. He can’t just assume things like Jiyoon is somebody else’s responsibility and blame the mistreatment on busy schedule and carelessness

Is there any photos that SHOWED jiyoung's manager didn't put umbrella on jiyoon after that? That photo can't justify it. What if jiyoung n jiyoon did share the umbrella? Please don't use this as a reason to think badly of Jiyoung, who still is active under the name of Bol4. friendships sometimes just end as life goes on and circumstances and ambitions change. It's just life. This video is also very inaccurate.
Both girls did very well out of the group financially and I am sure Jiyoon has the comfort and space to do whatever she wants to now. I wish her the best and will follow whatever project she decides on. I remain a Bol4 stan though as well.

Check the fact bout bol4 please. Don't just judge without knowing anything. 90% of bol4 songs ARE WRITTEN N COMPOSED by ahn jiyoung. It's a bit sad to say but the absent of jiyoon not really impact on bol4 music. Yeah i admit that bol4 did flop but not really because of the absent of jiyoon. any group band naturally has one girl most popular; so it's not a unique surprising thing that Ji young was more popular. Nobody should be bothered about that. I hope whatever the reasons may be, there should be no personal bias and jealousy and problems in either of the two girls. I just need to have more songs like Some and You-and-I. I don't know who composed these songs, Young or Yoon, but plz make more great music like that.
One member being slightly more popular than the others is not comparable to their situation. There was clear discrimination against ji yoon, it was so bad, many people believed bol4 was a solo artist. She was right to be bothered about it and leave, she didn’t deserve this mistreatment.
