What is more likely? That scripture intends for us to believe We have no free will, that God determines us to do things then punished us for doing them and their is some mysterious way in which this makes sense? Or that Calvinists are just mistaken in their interpretation? I think obviously the latter
It’s been proven that Pelagius had most of his works burned up and what we know about Pelagius’ beliefs come from his opponents. For someone in 2019 to fail to mention that and just assume that Augustine accurately represented Pelagius is irresponsible. In fact, historical facts show that Augustine leaned on his theology as a Stoic and Manichaen Gnostic when debating Pelagius. So, Augustine wasn’t exactly orthodox himself. Not one single church father before Augustine for 400 years taught the things Augustine did. Oh, and how about those Catholic doctrines Augustine taught later in his life. 🤔

Did you know that Calvinism (and Arminianism) teach the law for righteousness? (In spite of what John Piper says.) What is the opposite of grace? The law. What does the law say? "The man who does these things will live by them." (Romans 10:5, Galatians 3:12) The law represents the first covenant; grace represents the new covenant. Sin shall not have dominion over us why? Because we're not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14) So, if sin has dominion over us, it's because we're living under the law (according to the flesh), not grace. (according to the Spirit.) "If you let yourself be circumcised, Christ will be of no effect in your life." (Galatiansn 5:2-4) Was Paul talking about circumcision? No. He was talking about going back under the law, back under "the man who does these things will live by them," which is the opposite of grace. Going back under the law makes Christ of no effect, and so sin is empowered. "The strength of sin is the law." (1 Cor 15:56) Calvinism says it teaches grace, but in fact, it teaches the law. Crazy you say? Then answer me this: Under Calvinism, why do people go to hell? Because of their sin, right? What principle does that belief fall under? Grace or the law? If your theology includes people suffering forever for their sin, then that theology is based in the law (the first covenant) and has therefore made Christ of no effect. If you're going to preach grace, it has to be grace for EVERYONE. Otherwise, you're teaching the law. Grace, for the elect only equals preaching the law because the non-elect suffer for their sin. "Where there's no law, there's no transgression, and therefore no wrath." (Romans 4:14-15) Over 70 times the New Testament tells us what God accomplished in Christ was for EVERYONE. Now that’s grace!

Can you propose a single instance of Piper being biblically inaccurate by actually showing the discrepancy between Scripture and Piper, or are you really just mistrustful of the church in general? I suppose the second due to your vehemence. God doesn’t “need” anyone. He uses people. He used Paul, he used Judas; he uses people to glorify himself. Piper is a true Christian man, and it’s gross for you to level such platitudes at him. Do you have a grasp of the people being brought to self-piety and Biblical revelation from his preaching? pleasure-seeking
Yet if you knew what he was talking about then you would know he is saying we should find our ultimate joy in God, and honor him by enjoying God's gifts. If you knew more of what he taught you would also know he endorses things like fasting, living within your means, and not constantly turning to entertainments like the culture does. So it's not exactly old Greek and Roman hedonism
@@logansweet4190 would you as a Christian start with the premise of the possibility of Christian homosexuality?..... i personally wouldn't and i ALSO wouldn't start trying to mix the words Christianity with hedonism.
@@logansweet4190 so is hedonism.
@@davidcrane6593 In the Greco-Roman sense yes, but finding your joy though Jesus and loving Him more through His provision is not and that is what John Piper is talking about. You just dont like the word he used.
@@logansweet4190 brother.... Peace, Love and Joy is found in Christ.... hedonism is sin.
I heard the name John Piper.....bye bye
Again with the Sin nonsense? I thought Jesus sacrifice himself to forgive our Sin. What else do you want? LOL

The "born again" is a scam the church has made up:

@@AtamMardes Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3: 1-3

Religion has got you by the balls with its made up stories. LOL
+Logan Sweet..Mr. piper is Jesus Description of a Perfect Pharisee! Standing up There! Look at me! Look at me! Hear my sanctimonious prayer! Listen to my big words! Listen to my impressive exhulations! Listen to the words and ideas I make up! I am so Cool! Look at me! Never Mind What Jesus Says! Look at me! Mr. piper Does Not even Know Who Jesus Is! he never teaches what Jesus says! You will never Know Jesus by listening to this man.
The Key to Victory over Sin..IS When we Seek Jesus Himself! This man..Piper..presents a God so Lame He Cannot even Communicate with His People. Like God Needs this man to quote you a book? That is a pretty Lame God! God..Himself..Will Show You what Sin is and Help You Overcome. That is the Only Victory Over Sin! The Pride of this man Piper Is a sin..that he thinks he can speak for God..to you. Seek Jesus..Yourself..Folks! Listening to this mans false doctrine will get you no where.
kathleen Wharton please take your meds.
+Aaron H.. I Seek Jesus and I Recieve Jesus. You seek Piper and you get Piper! Good Luck to you! You are welcome to him.
Piper is merely pointing people to Jesus in the Word like any good gifted teacher does. God bless you maam.
+Peter Harris..Yes! And I Found Jesus! He is the Only Way! But I Now see all the Error in Piper. I Seek Jesus and I Recieve Jesus! When you seek Piper..all you get is Piper! And he is nothing compared to Jesus!
kathleen Wharton, you yell “FALSE DOCTRINE, FALSE DOCTRINE,” yet you’ve not once truly outlined what is false.
All he does is help people strike up personal passion for the Truth.
Wisdom isn’t not listening to anybody, but rather it’s actually judging what they have to say. What you’re espousing right now is not wisdom, it’s jaded doubt. You say because Piper has an audience and some sort of perceived spiritual clout, he is false. That’s not how it works.
