Whats with the name Eadle ally? My last is eadle and i would love to know!! Since it is quite a rare name
The Tune is on the Haints cd, "shout monah" Melvin never mentioned where the tune came from, thought i heard from some souce that it was to do with the civil war, anyhows, get the Album, it Rocks! especially Tupelo Blues

I was given one of his fiddles and told "Keep it alive" and his kids are very happy with my dedication. Ive been attending his birthday concert in Sutton for many years and videos like yours give me a wonderful grasp on Mels tunes. I never met him but was at his funeral and the spirit of all the people playing there drives me to carry on and share his music hopefully

I'm so glad you're playing Melvin's music and have one of his fiddles! Often when I would visit him I would take one of his bows with me have it repaired (they were all in great need of this) and then bring it back the next visit. Then I'd take another bow back with me to Canada and have that one rehaired. I figured it was the least I could do for all the tunes he taught me. On his 92nd birthday I gave him a nice Brazil wood bow and I had the frog engraved...something like "Happy 92." I can't quite remember. It was a 3/4 bow to go with the 3/4 size fiddle he liked to warm up on. Just a story for today. Hope you keep Melvin's old fiddle singing!
