It seemed like you mixed up some of the regions, Yunjin and Shenhe and Yelan were from Liyue and you kept mentioning Inazuma and Japanese soundscapes but it's not a huge deal since the rest were Inazuman, next we move on to Sumeru! Appreciate you trying to interpret the characters moveset and stuff

Thanks for clearing that up :D I guess after going through so many Inazuma characters in a row after the last one I got a little mixed up

Yunjin is from Liyue! She performs Beijin Opera btw, a real chinese form of art

You also see the differing approaches Western theatre (exemplified in several spots over Furina's demo) and Chinese opera took towards stage combat. (Honestly, the main problem with traditional Chinese opera is that it depends on having performers trained over too much of their lives from too young an age to really mesh with modern society.) It's meaningful that Yun Jin says she learned to fight for real specifically to improve her stage combat skills. Traditional Chinese opera relies more on extremely heavily rehearsed choreography (synchronized with the beats of music to help with attacks coming from outside of their target's vision) than not aiming directly at the target using techniques which aren't being properly applied but will still injure or kill if they do connect. Instead, Western theatre traditionally mixes things that look dramatic but are very safe with simply never aiming at another person - which still isn't entirely safe (there is a good reason "Macbeth" has such an infamous reputation, and it has a lot to do with all the things that can go wrong with the play's combat scenes) but allows decent results with far less training.

Ayato full name is Kamisato Ayato and you might remember another with that name, Kamisato Ayaka

the elctric guitar (as well as electronic sounds) may be included in many Inazuma tracks due to connotations with the electro element

12:31 a Vision is that glowing ball that most of the characters are wearing. They allows mortals to control elemental energy.

Awesome reaction! It's so fun hearing you reference the other concerts and OSTs you've heard and draw connections between them! Really welcome to the Appreciating Genshin's Music community! And you're doing great deducing the characters' fighting style from the demos too. I think one of Genshin's strongpoint is also how fun and interesting their battle mechanics are so I look forward to your reaction to it! Also yes, when there's a new nation introduced, they usually make a batch of themed characters for it, but every once in a while, they revisit previous nations through events and sometimes they bring out a new character too.
I was wondering, would you be reacting to version trailers as well? Apart from giving a glimpse to the story, they have this cool thing where whenever they introduce a character, they shift the music to fit said character. So for example, there's 2 new characters being released in that version, they SEAMLESSLY transition the music from one genre to the other to match the character! And I think after seeing these character demos, you'll recognize the type of music each character would fit! It's fascinating to hear the music change done that way and I would love to hear your thoughts on them!
If you're worried about spoilers, version trailers usually show the overarching story, but in the later trailers, they mix and match audios and visuals from different quests. Version trailers usually are a mix of Main/Archon quest (quests involving our main character and their journey through the nations), Character story (just focusing on getting to know a character, usually a 5*), and World quests (quests that builds the history/lore of the world not always tied to the main character). So you dont have to overthink about the words/visuals presented and just accept what you've understood from a first watch.
Once again, awesome and insightful reaction! I look forward to more of your reactions!

Visions are the things that give most of these characters their elemental powers. You'll notice most of them have little gemstones somewhere on them in a bronze/gold setting- that's a Vision. If you take it away from them, they won't be able to use their powers. For example, in Itto's demo at 8:35, he wears his on the collar around his neck. That's his Geo vision, which lets him manipulate the "earth" element, and he uses it to make his giant club, mostly. Not exactly the most sophisticated use, but he's not exactly the most sophisticated guy. xD
You'll notice that in the present day scenes it isn't there, and his buddy was pointing straight at it towards the end. Hope this was helpful!

Inazuma characters have their surname first. For example, the Kamisato siblings: Ayaka and Ayato. In Heizou's case, his surname is Shikanoin; Yoimiya's surname is Nagonohara; Sara's surname is Kujou; Itto's surname is Arataki... Well, the other thing was clarified for you: Yun Jin, Shenhe, Chongyun (Shenhe's nephew) and Yelan belong to Liyue. It is normal that during the demo of characters from one region, characters from another region are introduced. Nice reaction bro.

Well, Heizou is the last of the Inazuma characters batch(there’s still a couple that got introduced later on), next up, Sumeru. When Ayato was mentioning his sister, he was talking about Ayaka. Three of the character themes reminded me of a video by Max0r called “Genshin Impact is a Playable Anime”, check it out. As for your first stream, I’ll try to catch it as I’m in the same time zone

Itto is one of those characters who crashed onto the scene and quickly became a fan favourite. The combination of his writing and Max Mittelman's voice acting is just working out perfectly. Whenever Itto pops up you just know you're in for a good time and in 9 out of 10 times you will facepalm while shaking your head with a silly grin.

33:23 CALM DOWN GRIM! Hahahahaha! I'm not surprised that Yelan made you get caught lacking. Almost saw my boy acting up lol. Way to keep it together!
Loving the reaction to these btw. You pay attention to everything. I wish you knew a bit more about the characters before going into these. Like at least watching the Character Teasers first. They get released a few days before the demo to give you somewhat of an introduction to the characters. It's like a short story with impactful music. Still a good watch if you have the time. They're only made for 5star characters and are pretty short so it wouldn't take you long to get through them.

I'm really happy that you're streaming now. Unfortunately, I live in the completely wrong time zone and therefore can't watch the streams. :( Are you planning to upload the stream to YT by any chance?
Love your videos so much, keep up the good work, you're super cute and likeable! ^-^

Hey, you seem to be asking about the characters moveset and abilities a lot this videos. If you're curious, there's a series of videos called Collected Miscellany for each character that describes their whole kit.

It might be confusing but yunjin and shenhe are both from liyue, the characters themselves dropped half way in our inazuma patch cause genshin comes back and forward from their other regions with events, so we came back to liyue after part 2 of the main Inazuma arc, which i think is awesome, they just dont forget past parts of the map like many videogames do, so yeah you may hear music from other regions while a new region is the main attraction

    • @Kaizelot

Also, i find super funny that everyone is so impressed with shenhe kicking that huge hilichurl butt, when Qiqi in her demo also killed one of those xD

  • @tempest1224

Yun Jin, Shenhe, Yelan were from Liyue and the soundscapes were also Liyue's leit motif, not Inazuma or Japan. It's normal that during the character demos from one region, characters from another region are introduced.
For example, Itto was released in 2.3 since the map, events took place in Inazuma, but in 2.4 we came back to Liyue for the Lantern Rite and Shenhe was released during that time.

Talismans are not really Japanese. Korean and Chinese shamanic practices use them too.
