I am thinking of applying to OT schools in a few years and I am loving all of your videos. They really help me feel more prepared to apply with confidence. Thanks for taking the time to make these!
Heyyy Love!!! I'll be applying to a Hybrid OTA to OT Bridge Program Fall 2021. I'm nervous girl 😩 but if I went through OTA school im sure God will definitely get through the next step. But this video has definitely helped. We need to connect!
Hey Girl! Thank you for watching and supporting! That's amazing news! I'm sure you will do great in OT school and being nervous means you just want to do very well which is not bad at all! And yes lets connect :)
Been watching your videos all day.. girl THANK YOU. It's a perfect way to get more mentoring information, especially as a first generation student. For the resume when applying to MOT, my school has us do an internship as part of our capstone. Since my major is healthcare administration, I have pretty free range of choosing where I intern so I am of course looking for OT settings. Could this be put in the related experience?
Hey! Thanks for the video. Did you include your chipotle experience on your OT grad school application? I have some gaps in my resume because I worked a serving restaurant job all throughout my undergrad!
I didn't include that experience because I had other experience that I could use instead! However, if you don't have other things to add then I would say to add your serving experience!!
Thank you for this video. The trouble I'm having is making my personal statement unique when I feel like my story is somewhat bland. It's hard to convey /why/ I'm so passionate when I don't have a personal experience like yours, for example. Anyway thank you again :)
Personal statements are always hard but you just have to remember to stay true to yourself! No one can tell your story better than you! So take your time and just speak your truth! Good luck and thank you for your support :)
Hi! Do you have any ideas where I can get virtual shadowing opportunities or shadowing opportunities during the pandemic? I’m applying to graduate school for an OTD degree and I’m having a hard time finding hours. I hope to hear from you soon!
Hi!! I would say to reach out to all of the school districts or rehab centers near you and see if they allow observation hrs virtually! I will definitely say don’t get discouraged. You will get your hours but you just have to be persistent and continue to keep trying!! They’re so many places that would take you. It’s just that you have to find them! Good luck ☺️
It depends on how much info you have to put in the section. So if you don’t have a lot then yes put both in related experience. However, if you have a lot of experience that outweighs your volunteering then put it in the additional experience section! Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 😊
This is so helpful for me right now 😭 fingers crossed I get in for 2025 🤞🏾
Me too! Where did you apply/are going to apply?
Me too!! Where did you apply ?
@@attallahking I applied to Eastern Michigan University. Still waiting to hear back :)
Thank you! I just found this video while searching for ways to prepare myself to apply for OT school. Very informative.
I loved your videos!! Would it be possible to create a resume template (obviously without any of your info but just the bolded letters and format)?

do you separate jobs and volunteering in your resume? or include them both in relevant experience if they are OT related?
It depends on how much info you have to put in the section. So if you don’t have a lot then yes put both in related experience. However, if you have a lot of experience that outweighs your volunteering then put it in the additional experience section! Hope this helps, thanks for watching! 😊
very helpful thanks girl
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching!
