My husband hasnt voted in 12 years......we have 5 girls and the other day he checked his registration!!!!!!! He said the main issue that influence him to vote was Women's Rights to their reproductive system. He said he would not want his daughters to have an abortion however he understands that situations can present that they would want that option....and he doesn't feel the government should take that away . Moms with daughters especially, have that tough conversation with your spouse or the Father of your daughter..and speak up for their rights!! 💙 💙
Such a good point. Most people don’t want to imagine themselves or their loved ones needing an abortion. But these abortion restrictions make it terrifying to even get pregnant on purpose. If you miscarry you might be accused of aborting your baby. If you need to end a pregnancy to save your own life, that’s illegal. This sort of thing shouldn’t have to weigh on you when you’re deciding whether or not to have a child.

I was always surrounded by republican women since the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s in my job. I could not talk politics or religion or, as a single mom, I couldn’t put food on the table for my kids. The Republican women were good, caring people to me on a personal level, but at times I would be shocked by the racist, hateful attitudes that were under the surface, always directed at groups of people they didn’t know personally. I can’t imagine how bad they became from 2016 onwards.

As a former GOPher the party is unrecoverable. We need ranked choice voting at the state level including a provision in state law for candidates who win a state but don't reach 270 electoral votes to assign their electors to another candidate. Why is the GOP gone? Because Trump is just the result of the process within the GOP that started with the Southern Strategy. It accelerated in the 80s and after because there's just not enough people fired up for mortgaging the economy in the name of the American people and handing it all over to the corporations and their billionaire masters. So the GOP has depended more and more on the deplorable vote to win elections. But until Trump, the establishment was able to keep the deplorables in the closet and string them along with dogwhistles. Trump let the deplorables in the party out of the closet and brought in more who weren't voting because there wasn't a party sufficiently committed to being deplorable to motivate them. Those deplorables are never going back in the closet now that they've tasted political success. The GOP is never going back to what it was before.

My husband hasnt voted in 12 years......we have 5 girls and the other day he checked his registration!!!!!!! He said the main issue that influence him to vote was Women's Rights to their reproductive system. He said he would not want his daughters to have an abortion however he understands that situations can present that they would want that option....and he doesn't feel the government should take that away . Moms with daughters especially, have that tough conversation with your spouse or the Father of your daughter..and speak up for their rights!! 💙 💙
Such a good point. Most people don’t want to imagine themselves or their loved ones needing an abortion. But these abortion restrictions make it terrifying to even get pregnant on purpose. If you miscarry you might be accused of aborting your baby. If you need to end a pregnancy to save your own life, that’s illegal. This sort of thing shouldn’t have to weigh on you when you’re deciding whether or not to have a child.

We learned at the feet of some of the most progressive and at the same time, some of the most controversial, public figures in this country at the time. JFK, RFK, Malcom X, Huey P. Newton, Angela Davis, H. Rap Brown, and that's just a few of the people who shaped our lives and helped us form our way of thinking. There were events which shaped our way of thinking as well. Political assassinations of the 60's, the unrest over the Vietnam war, Woodstock, Monterey Pop, the Beatnik movement, the Summer of Love, are just a few of the events. ALL of those shaped our, (Boomers), way of thinking and of doing things. There are a few of us who honestly didn't get it and refuse to understand the fact that change is inevitable, but most of us are way more progressive than most of the younger generation folks know.

I'm a very late middle age white dude. I don't need "balance" on the ticket. I donated to Harris in the first several hours. Pick someone good for VP. I'm fine with Whitmer or Buttigieg, or Shapiro or Kelly, etc. The campaign should do the vetting, polling, focus groups, whatever., and test them on ability to answer knowledgeably about national and world affairs, and for good measure ability to respond well to critical interviewers, as well as ability to handle a stressful round the clock campaign season. There are enough candidates, and enough money.

I was always surrounded by republican women since the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s in my job. I could not talk politics or religion or, as a single mom, I couldn’t put food on the table for my kids.

It seems like voting in a Democrat is going to have to be the way to go until all of the remnants of Maga are voted and appointed out of office and their positions - politicians, judges, USSC Justices, Post Master General, Governors, Mayor, Police Chiefs, and so on.
This is going to take quite a few election cycles to accomplish.
As a former GOPher the party is unrecoverable. We need ranked choice voting at the state level including a provision in state law for candidates who win a state but don't reach 270 electoral votes to assign their electors to another candidate.
Why is the GOP gone? Because Trump is just the result of the process within the GOP that started with the Southern Strategy. It accelerated in the 80s and after because there's just not enough people fired up for mortgaging the economy in the name of the American people and handing it all over to the corporations and their billionaire masters. So the GOP has depended more and more on the deplorable vote to win elections. But until Trump, the establishment was able to keep the deplorables in the closet and string them along with dogwhistles. Trump let the deplorables in the party out of the closet and brought in more who weren't voting because there wasn't a party sufficiently committed to being deplorable to motivate them. Those deplorables are never going back in the closet now that they've tasted political success. The GOP is never going back to what it was before.
i don't understand, what some people are undeceided, about in Ms. Harris, he talks about ending democracy, being an authoritarian, she talks about a brighter future, where everyone has a piece of the american pie.

I love Kamala Harris. But i am a lifelong democrat and being from Hawaii am unafraid of powerful women and being led by them. Hawaii has had many strong women leaders of both parties. Women can be successfuland Kamala will be the leader we need at this point . Trump is a negative pearson and is so horrible i really cannot abide him except to mock and laugh at. I encourage voters to support Kamala and elect her as she will lead us into the future successfully. Kamala for a beautiful future.
