To any parent who has struggled to get their teenager to desire involvement with chores and helping others: take note of the attitude shown so frequently by wee Jock. "I do it!". We see him frequently trying to open gates and mimic the work he sees. Young children have a very strong natural urge to participate in the things they see their parents doing. If the parent constantly takes things out of their hands or does the thing themselves, kids soon lose interest in volunteering. Because Dad or Mom always does it for them or there's an element of risk. Will Jock do the best job washing out that race? Maybe not. Or maybe make a bit of a mess? Sure. Could he bop himself on the nose? Possibly. But each time he tries it he learns. His muscles get stronger and he gains confidence in his own abilities. He'll very soon learn how good it feels to complete tasks. It's pretty obvious that Jock's parents were raised that way and want to encourage the same fearless approach to life that they were helped to develop, on the farms they grew up on.
Cammy, just a quick little hello to let you know that I’m thinking of you and hoping that you’re on the road to recovery from yesterday’s surgery. You’ll likely be sore right now . . . and wondering how you’ll ever be able to stand up straight again ! This, too, shall pass, darlin’ . . . and you’ll be SO relieved to have all that hernia “stuff” behind you ! Sending you warmest wishes from Canada ! 🇨🇦
Welcome back Cammy ! .. and absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation documentary countryside adventure .. and another beautiful upload and share ! .. TQSM !
A fixer by nature. I come from dairy farming peeps. You could fashion a gunny sack, tyvek seed sack or similar cloth into a tube to fit over the end of the shoot, and long enoygh to drop into feeder. the feed would not spit into the feeder causing waste. Just an idea.
I have been so proud of myself because I can understand you, Cammy, then Lance(?) Shows up, and I have no idea what he's saying, it sounds great though. Lol
Really enjoy your improvements as they sometimes make me feel smart, thankyou i do enjoy what you share. Me born Scotland in Lanarkshire came from loch Lomond to America 54 yrs. ago been home a few times ready to retire but don't think I could handle the weather. Bless you and your lovely family
Love to see new shiny things, but the best is that this helps you feeding your lambs. Want to see to lammies take a bite! And Jock is a big helper for his father and also for his mother and his little brother and sister. Love to see them "working" on the farm as big people. That little one is also good for a little stack of sweets. Hiding it in plain side and no-one knows. Have fun,
Can you back it straight back to the chute? So the central bunk is in line with the chute, not perpendicular. And shovel the pellets towards the bike side of the feeder
If you ever do bring the hopper back to the chute, perhaps parking the hopper the other way round would allow you to direct the pellets into the body of the hopper.
A boy Cammy another good video 👍. Was never really the biggest fan of those feeders. There great until the birds start calling, then you're just feeding the birds & they're giving your lovely new feeder a nice coat of sh1t 😂😂.
HI Cammy That is a cool lamb feeder. you have to let Sandi Brock's know about it. I was thinking take a tall bucket cut 1 half the bottom off it. slid it over the shot the food comes out of. The food will hit other half of the bottom half that was still there & not be wasted it will fall in to the feeder that way. & not bounce out. Just a thought.
Welcome back Cammy but reckon was filmed when you had Naill on the FED podcast 😉. Looks like your going into competition with Lance having spotted that mobile dipper i the background 👍
Welcome home and hope you've a speedy recovery. Was wondering for us non farmers.. Must admit to keeping googling.. Could you explain what certain things are.. Ie dragging bolasing fluke etc sorry if spelling wrong .. every so often you say more "specialist" terms and I've no clue... Thanks.. Great videos. Really enjoy channel
Cammie, love to you and all your family. I'm I right in thinking a gimmer is the age of the sheep/lamb. I would be very greatfull if you could let us ignorant, non farming, Southerner know. (Well it's East Anglia really but its still South.). Its so loverly where you are. Suehsuk 🇬🇧
Nice piece o kit. Cheap at half the price 😜 Comment below made me laugh. Don't know why it didn't occur to me before; there's a braw pipe reel called "Jock Wilson's Ball". 👍
I don't understand why you bought a feeder that will keep the big sheep out and then you took the guards off! Is it because this is a field with only lambs? Always love the gallery!
Put the back in towards the feeder that should help you or front first not side ways . Hope this helps cammy . Ps hope your feeling much better after your op get well soon
Would it have been less waste going in at more of an angle??? Just wondering 🤔 not really sure if the feed would still shoot out over the top or not. Jock is doing so well with his work ! His language skills are amazing 🤩 such a darling boy 🥰. You and Lizzy make the most gorgeous kids 💞Jock and wee Angus , he just melts your heart ❤️ ! I loved when he was showing off his cowboy boots in another video A perfect Cowboy 🤠Cover Model 🥰❤ Wee little Bonnie is going to be breaking all the boys hearts 💕 such a doll! Back to the feeder what will do with the pieces you took off of the feeder ? Just curious ????
Have you thought about doing a video on Herdwicks? Or even visting a farm with them? They're a pretty interesting/unusual breed based on what I've read about them 😊 Keep up the good work 💪😊
Just watching Kiwi Farmer youtube channel - in the beginning of the vlog he addressed Cammi's comment on the Fed by Farmers Short about NZ using a vaccine that they UK were not allowed to use (podcast itself was fine the short is the issue) Alister (Kiwi Farmer watched both as did I) - this is incorrect information and the short should be taken down - dissapointed Cammi you have always said you would never put another product down - you certainly took a shot at NZ Lamb Producers with miss information - have a watch and comment on his channel
Hi, thanks for this, I have just watched his vlog, watched my short, and watched the part of the podcast where I talk about it, because I do want to make sure I haven't miscommunicated what Smartshot is. So, I refer to it as a "product", not a vaccine, in both the short and the longer interview. And I am making the point that I feel that the UK standards hold us back from using products like Smartshot, which is already in our food supply in the lamb from NZ. At one point I say the phrase "New Zealand is better" 😅Really don't want you to feel like I think it's a vaccine, or that I don't think it's okay for NZ to use it. I've watched Alistair's videos for a long time, and he's a cracking farmer. I think he jut wanted to show the product we were talking about on-screen.
@@TheSheepGame you are not saying what the product is Cammi, that is allowed in NZ and the meat is allowed to be imported into the UK but the lamb producer in the UK are not allowed to use it - then you guest go on to talk about frankenstein food all in a short and how it ruined a industry overnight, like what NZ is doing will produce frankenstein food - no where do you mention it is a selenium and B12 shot - which the UK are allowed to bolus with Animex (your sponsor) - it is simply the method it is delivered - we allow injection you are allow bolus - both farmers giving their sheep the same product - we give it to our lambs because our soil is really lacking in selenium and B12 and we don't want issues like fail to thrive because they are mineral deficient - thin, anaemia, poor wool growth, poor appetite - which is selenium and b12 deficency - I commented on Alisters post and he had no problem with the podcast but he had a problem with the short - that is why it was mentioned today - Maybe we are better 🤣and someone in the Scotish Parliment need to understand animal husbandry
still not many issues with this conversation. Spent a fortnight with a family in Glengarnock years and years ago, maybe that's why? Seriously, I have - as a non native speaker - more problems with understanding people from the North East of England.
Nice piece of kit, Cammy.
So shiny, so undented, so doomed.
Hope the lambies enjoy. 😅
🤣 wont last long

Jock's speech is so good, I actually understood him before cammy repeated. He is going to be a wonderful helper!
PS. You have become one of my daily watched, along with Sandi, Sheepishly Më in Canada.

That poor feeder will never be the same again. lol

If i moved all the rubbish I have lying around then I could!! I'll get it sorted
Love all yr efforts. Really enjoy watching yr kids x
If you ever do bring the hopper back to the chute, perhaps parking the hopper the other way round would allow you to direct the pellets into the body of the hopper.
That’s what I was saying but Cammy didn’t hear. The chute would go right into the opening.
I need to back straight in but I need to move all the rubbish I have in the way!

Way too big for Sandi’s set up. She only used small easily movable ones for her lambs. None for the sheep.
A canvas sock would work better, or as Cammie said, he will tidy up the area so he can back in and fill.

I love that they call them hogs. Its so different. I wish i could see scotish sheep in my country.
First here to see the new equipment!
Suggestion…throw lime around the feeder, keeps foot bacteria spreading as they all congregate on the same ground
Good shout John, we did that in an earlier video this summer with our smaller feeders.
I don't understand why you bought a feeder that will keep the big sheep out and then you took the guards off! Is it because this is a field with only lambs? Always love the gallery!
Yeah that's it Peggy! it's all lambs in this field so no need for the gate.
Love your videos! I am currently watching all of your older videos, so addicting! Thanks for all the great content!!
I’m glad Lance found an alternative career after his cycling.

Thanks Amy., I'll just keep the gates for next spring when the ewes and lambs are together and it stops the mums getting in.

I like it but well the rain get the grain get wet??
It closes over, so it'll mostly stay dry... mind you it is known to rain sideways!
That yard has so much potential cammy it’s a bit off a shame to see it overlooked ❤
Great vlog. Can I ask why you took the panels off the side. Is it because you only gave lambs in this field? 👏🐑🙂 Sorry if you already explained 😊
Yeah it's all lambs in the field 😄
I love the subtitles to translate Scots to English for us Americans 😂
You're very welcome - it's not the easiest to understand is it?! 😀
I've seen Lance Armstrong at my uncles farm for years in Carnwath. Would be cool to get him on the channel Cammy !?
Did you get 'the snip' at the same time as the hernia repair or have you wimped out on that one ?
❤❤
Back up hopper to the machine instead of filling from the side fill it from the back

Hello ❤❤🎉🎉
Cracking video as always
How long will it stay shiny and new😂😂❤
Shearers lifting technique to sensible manual handling technique 😅
Back in for the feed shoot
I have too much rubbish in the way! Need a good tidy up😅
Cammie instead of pulling up sideways to bin of creep.
Open the door on feeder and back under creep bin spout
saw this on lizzies youtube last week hehe
Price 😮?!? Wow
Why did you take the lamb gates off?
Because the gates are for when they are small to stop the mums getting to the feeder. We don't need that now they are weaned.
'What a friendly fella, seems to really love making his TOYS.
Is the Lance Armstrong you refer to the cyclist?
Put a bag on the end of the shute
Might just be me, but if this is after your hernia op, should you not be resting?🤔
This was before the op 😅
@@TheSheepGame sorry, just the nurse in me coming out! Hope you are recovering well
