C'est drôle, car j'ai rencontré les parents de certains membres de ce groupe lors d'un séjour en camping en France. Ce sont eux qui m'ont parlé de Lankum, après trop de bouteilles de vin et tant de belles chansons. Des gens formidables. ❤
Radie could sing the phone book and I’d be moved. Such an amazing singer and the entire band are awesome musicians. Hurry on Friday , can not wait any longer
Please come to Italy! Especially in the region of Marche we have a recent Irish tradition, let's say 30 years old. It was brought by two guys who left by Vespa towards Ireland to find the unknown fiddle player of a disc that, at their hears, sounded magical. When they came back they brought Irish music and during the year, once a year, they organized the Montelago Celtic Festival that in the last year became huge (20.000 people)

I love how for those of us who are regular listeners to Ian Lynch's podcast, so many of these songs are already familiar - in particular this and Lord Abore and Mary Flynn. I'm beyond excited about hearing the latter! And if anyone hasn’t listened to Fire Draw Near, what are you doing with your life?
@@Venvencarmen indeed - assumed Ian would sing it as he plays it all the time on FDN and has done a video on his channel of him singing it unaccompanied, so it was a pleasant surprise to hear a different voice. Can't beat Al O'Donnell though...
Remembering this is coming Friday will definitely help get me through this Thursday. It’s been a balm since the moment I heard the news it was coming. Thank you all ❤️🔥🪗
I just listened to the album in its entirety and loved it even more than I expected even with the high expectations I had going into it on the strength of these 3 singles that came out first
I had never heard of Lankum but one night I had a dream and I woke up singing an unknown song. After hours of research I found "An old man from over the sea" IT is the song I heard from my dream 🤔😁🙂🙂 if it wasn't for my dream I would have never heard of Lankum and Now I'm Hooked 😁🤠😀😎😎🎻🎺🎹🎸🎶🎷🎵🎙️🥁
Love the unbreakable tension in the new songs. An unbearing foreboding in the background which gets more intense with every listen. Sublime stuff for sure.
So, I look to see who's playing End of the Road Fest & Lo & behold Lankum are coming. I find that they're Irish & I love many Irish Artists music like Van the man, HHF, Lisa O'neil, Damien Dempsey,The Pogues to name a few & now I have another. I Love & respect this ban, not just for their amazing music but for their support for the Palestinian people who seem to not be a cause for concern to many in F---ed up Little england where I live. Oh, to be able to get an Irish passport, I'd be over in a flash!
Thanks. I'm french trucker and i find some apeasement when i listen yours musics.

First song to have made me stop what I’m doing and sit down to really listen.
First song in years to make me cry from the pure, raw emotion.
Cried to this the first time I heard it, absolute raw beauty.

I’m glad I’m alive to hear music like this

That's wonderful!
This sounds amazing ❤
I'm so excited for this album it's been distracting me from my responsibilities as an adult with a family and a job.
Come ya not from Newcastle
Come you there far away
Oh met you not my true love
Who dwells near Dublin Bay
[Chorus]
Why should I not love my love
Why shouldn’t my love love me
Why should I not speed after her
Since love to all is free
Her father once my true friend
Now turns me from the door
Her mother wrote me worthy
Now bids me love no more
[Chorus]
Her squire once my true friend
But now my rival be
While I Willie madly bail away
To sail the stormy sea
[Chorus]
In spite of flame and danger
With Willie she will roam
My arms are safe defenders
Her breast my happy home
[Chorus]

Lankum's performance once again draws out the raw emotion of the piece that is oft missed by many other renditions.

And who knew that Cormac has such a nice voice!

the absolute fucking G I R T H on these new tracks. magnificent.
Every time I hear Radi sing I think of the late great Margaret Barry.
Stayed up until 5 am my time to listen to this right when it dropped and it was definitely worth it
this is gonna be a serious contender for AOTY. Absolutely beautiful song.
I'll have to take your word for it, as I have no idea what AOTY stands for.
@@Loenthall88 Album Of The Year
Agreed, Valentin.
Yeah, the entire album is just great
What a lovely, lovely song. I feel calmed.
I've heard of the voice referred to as an instrument but only really understood it when I hear Radie Peat sing.

Melancholic reflections here. From now on not only LINDISFARNE will remind me of the fog on the Tyne (play upon words...)

Holy fuckin shit
😍
Where can I find other versions of this song? other than Ruskavellas
I would love to get the chords for piano. Could anyone help? I am not that good in music theory 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I think its in G# major. Or if you play guitar, put a capo on the first fret and play a G major chord. Hopefully that'll get you started...

The devil made this music.so good
Changed their name from "Lynched" because of the "systemic murder of black people in the USA" to the name of a child murderer in a ballad.
Both founding members are brothers by the name of Lynch
So bad
Return to the basement and play with your crayons.
