Great video, I had to hold back from crying a few times. You're so right, we always think that something like an amusement park will last forever, but just like everything else things must come to an end. When I read the announcement of Wonderland closing, I was bawling my eyes out and I told my parents "we HAVE TO GO TO OCEAN CITY NEW JERSEY! I need to say Goodbye to Wonderland!" This park has been apart of my life since I was 3 months old. A lot of good memories. I really hope and pray that Wonderland doesn't close and it gets saved. There is a petition out there to save it and a committee too and the same committee are trying to save PTC 75 Carousel and they had an effort going for saving Synsonics and Man & Dog, but they found out Synsonics were spoken for and about a week ago we found out Man & Dog have been saved. Everything else is still an unknown. I'll send you the link to the petition to #SaveWonderland and #SaveWonderlandCarousel When I was there I had limited time filming because I had 1 day to do it all. I wanted to film the park as a reminder of how charming it was and also get my last rides in which well...stood in line for an hour for the Giant Wheel in the fog so I didn't film that day. Only had time to ride the carousel and Giant Wheel that day. The first day I was there I was depressed because it rained off and on all day and Wonderland never opened. :'( The final day at OCNJ is when I rode the Carousel one last time and rode Canyon Falls for the first and last time. It was hard to make the video because it was sad day, but also a happy day because the sun was out and it was warm. My 2nd to last video I got was of the Man & Dog. I was going to end the video much like yours up there, but there were so many people up there it wasn't even funny. The day that my parents and I were at Wonderland was September 28th and 29th. One regret is I didn't ask a ride operator for just 1 ring from the carousel. That's how much my mind couldn't believe that was the end. My first ever amusement ride was the Wet Boats and with my parents was the carousel. Out of all the times I'd go to Wonderland, I never saw Wonder either. I am sorry that you didn't get a chance to go, it was a magical place on the boardwalk. I had been going there since I was a baby first ride was the carousel with my parents and then Wet Boats by myself. The carousel was unique that you could grab rings the Synsonics (Monkey band) and Man & Dog Show were apart of what make the park unique and the detail of theming of the main entrance facade and the theming for the Frontier Express loading and unloading area, the giant wheel is an icon you go to Ocean City and that is what greets ya the second you come into town. Canyon Falls was very well themed and detailed and same with the Dark Ride too.
I feel you. I Was born in 91. I grew up in Philly but my grandparents were from Cleveland. I thought the park Geauaga Lake was gonna be around for ever. It even was owned by six flags once and the bpught by ceder point which owns dorny park.. they even had a sea worls there. I know how you feel bruh
I went to that SeaWorld once, I was probably 6 or 7, it was sad how that all ended. I was also born in 91. Wonderland was my first ever amusement park so yeah my first ever rides there and I am now an amusement park and roller coaster enthusiast.
Hey Va-Ca-Ja, your little doggie appeared to be shaking like the proverbial LEAF on that log flume ride. Might have been more prudent to let the little doggie remain in it's stroller for that thrill ride booby. 🚫. 🐕. 🎢. 🚫
