Wonderful garden!!! Can you talk more about your pond? Would you be able to share the design and installation? Many thanks. I feel very inspired by the video.
This is amazing and wonderful. But I'm a Waco area country girl that knows every place not mowed or trimmed close brings in rattlers and copperheads. So wish there were a way to keep them at bay. Water draws them, too.
Sharing same thoughts . People always afraid of venomous creatures showing up and reclaim territory when a habitat has been restore .... well all of them are welcome to keep a balanced , venomous and non venomous is always a risk to take , when you pick a couple of venomous snakes and relocate properly . I love the raised wooden pathway , it helps to walk safely and comfortably and enjoy the view of the little prairie . A lovely and inviting backyard where you can seat and relax .
My neighbors built a pond like that in their backyard and stocked it with fish, but unfortunately it was a little too successful in attracting wildlife---it attracted a heron who ate all the fish!
Of course he has much more land than the average home-owner, but nevertheless his point is true. I let the St. Augustine in my backyard die, and I'm going to go with this pocket prairie idea
If you just left your yard alone, it would turn into this. I know. I neglected my yard and it turned into this without effort. I really don’t value it. It looks bad. But I know it’s good for the land. But i still mow it down.
Natives rock! You rock!

John Fahey in the background is a nice touch.

Nice Garden! Don’t you have a crawl space underneath the walkway? The snakes thank you!
The snakes are sunbathing 😂 they appreciate the path

Bummer they put those steep sides on the pond- hard for critters get in and more importantly- back out. Neat place otherwise.
