In the previous episode, I left Chiayi City on a rented 158cc scooter, journeying over 200km through Alisan and Yushan National Park to Ren’ai Township in Nantou County. There, I experienced the vibrant celebration of a local indigenous festival. Join me in this episode as I venture deeper into Taiwan’s breathtaking terrain. My aim is to continue exploring the island’s high mountain roads and delve into the Taroko National Park to the east.

ABOUT ME:
In 2013, I started my solo travel journey, leaving Indonesia in 2016 to become a full-time traveller and TH-cam creator. My background in International Relations has fueled a profound interest in exploring different countries. My content focuses on exploring different cultures through the lens of a solo female traveller, aiming to capture real-life interactions and experiences.
My travels kicked off with a five-month trip across Asia, after which I moved to China in January 2017 to work as an English teacher-my first time living abroad. I left China in 2018 to fully commit to creating videos on TH-cam, where I share my travels and the cultures I encounter.
Living nomadically since 2016, I settled in England in early 2022 after marrying my British husband, David. Now based in the UK, I continue to travel and share my adventures on TH-cam.

I spent three weeks in Taiwan a decade ago, and honestly, I felt like a VIP from moment one; free wifi code at the airport upon arrival (to use around the island), practically free shared bicycles in Taipei and Kaohsiung, awesome infrastructure around the island for bicycle tourists (we could even fix our bicycles at police stations, even camp in yards in front of police stations), true sweethearts of locals always willing to help out even when not speaking the same language, affordable prices throughout, honestly… what an A+ experience.

環島幾次的經驗 最喜歡三個路段的景色，大禹嶺>武嶺>清境農場、舊蘇花公路、南迴公路（達仁到太麻里）
在台灣騎機車要小心 台灣有獨步全球的“禁行機車”，且機車不能上國道，我的400cc也不能上，再高排氣量的機車全部都不行

Climbing from the flat ground to moutain range in Taiwan is very enjoyable. But be aware of the weather making sure you have a back-up plain when it starts to rain. In winter mountain temperature could drop down drastically, which is very hazardeous to life.

Brilliant Syfia, I saw a common garden Geranium where you are staying now! They move all around the Planet. Fantastic roads, and courteous riders! I did a course in Mandarin back in 1986 with a Chinese man raised by Jesuit Priests in Singapore. He sailed through and I had to stop halfway through. You have to be fully immersed, I lived in Norway for some years, that, was the difference. Beautifully videoed, nature wins all the time. Love your effort and engagement............ROBIN............

I have been there once, Taiwan is beautiful country, the people are kind, unassuming and generous, I will never forget the bus driver around Taipei, when he learned I'm a foreigner he gave me free tour on the bus around Taipei it was a night drive actually, he shown me the beautiful city nightlights. 😊❤

Did you turn around to your original destination using a scooter again or did you use another alternative such as a plane or ferry maybe? Because it is quite a long trip.
