As proved by this film, The Mummy and much more recently Jungle Cruise, sometimes all the people want is a period action piece that can make their hearts race and their lips smile. Hollywood has been making them forever, you just gotta remember how to make them the right way.
This and The Mummy are classics for a reason. Simple, smart and interesting takes on outdated genres with a great cast and crew who put in a lot of love and effort.
Fun Fact: In dead man's chest, the falling down the stairs and the jar of dirt song was completely improvsised and the casts reaction was actually genuine
The fantasy pirate land these movies create are so entertaining, the characters and ambience and can't forget ship designs are all insane. I hope for another movie anytime soon even thought Johnny won't be in it
Jack Sparrow is my favorite pirate well besides the Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates. Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl is definitely one of my favorite Pirates movies first one I saw and the CGI still aged well. It made me want to sail the high seas like Jack Sparrow this is why Pirates are important in Pop Culture,Walt Disney knew that when he created the ride. Not to mention the memes that came from Pirates of the Caribbean especially the Jar of Dirt meme along with a classic like Why is the Rum gone? Pirates are part of our culture!

Michael Keaton, Jim Carrey, Robert DeNiro, Christopher Walken, and Harrison Ford were considered for Jack Sparrow. Heath Ledger, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law, Christian Bale, Tobey McGuire, Christopher Masterson, and Ben Peyton were considered for Will Turner. Jessica Alba, Jamie Alexander and Amanda Bynes were considered for Elizabeth.
And the people considered for Jack mostly turned down the role either for scheduling conflicts or because they didn't think the series would be a hit. Johnny made Pirates a box offic hit. In my family there are two series that are staples Fast and Furious & Pirates. I was raised on these series along with Disney movies, and I was molded by them.
Can't really see any of these choices really delivering the same impact as Depp, Bloom an Knightly did. Couple MIGHT do alright back in that day BUT generally the ones chose probably was the reason did well as it did when the big three here was onboard. They ARE the 3 main characters

Sparrows unique ability to walk the lines of insanity and genius was perfectly portrayed by depp. that one scene in the 4th movie when he escapes the british is Jacks insane genius everything he does in that scene is premeditated.

Imagine in a Plot Twist or in a Pirates Sequel, Captain Balbosa and his UNDEAD Crew vs Davy Jones and his GHOST-FISH Crew, interesting Supernatural Fight/Battle! The Story could be that instead of the story we got in "Worlds End" Jack, Will, and Balbosa being desperate agree to reignite the Curse from the 1st film in order to effectively combat Jones. Each side would get upgraded Paranormal Ghost abilities!
Yesss my top favorite Movie series of all time! I love love love it even tho a good amount didnt like the rest of the story but since you are making a video for each ill keep to this movie. This has been my favorite since i was a kid. From the characters to the story to the amazing locations making it real. Indian jones feel when they have real artifact they feel and touch and has weight. Feels soo organic and just new and fresh and every time i watch it just feels new and never gets tiring. And jack as a character can be over looked as a funny goofy but there is somthing deeper to him that just grows on you. Glad you made a video on this movies hope to see the rest of the movies on your channel !

This movie was action packed and funny and all around adventurous, but the characters were what subverted expectation by their moral and social ambiguity which is how many people are in real life. So though fantastical at some points, it doesn't paint people to just be ONE way throughout the whole series! Again.. your views are very much appreciated!
I remember when Jonny Depp was announced as the lead and everyone was like what???. He was more known for his drama and quirky films and everyone was like "how is Edward scissor hands going to play the most badass pirate of all time?". I said to a few friends when they said this or there abouts that he will kill it in the role and bring his quirky acting style too it. And he did and it was a monster hit. Hopefully he's does come back and make the best ever pirate film out of the he bunch would be awesome.

Captain Jack's ship sinking is the best part. Especially learning about the ship wasn't planned nor rigged up to sink. After watching Minty's coverage on this movie, he explained that the ship itself crashed into a coral ridge by accident which knocked a hole into the wooden hull.
I've seen the black pearl in real life. They brought it into port on the Hudson River in NY. I just stumbled upon it. It's really cool looking and has a presence, even in the middle of day sunlight.
Tbh I watch this movie ones and I don't remember it that much. And never watch the other ones cause I'm just not into pirates. Maybe one day I will and enjoy it
It's definitely a good entry to a nice franchise hello that happened some hits and misses especially after the first 3 and with the recent drama between Johnny and Amber although it's now over people are wondering can it still work for me I say go for it all the way there is such a thing that second chances in this world.
So what I learned was that every single man who partakes in taking the Aztec gold must pay a blood debt back to the pile meaning they need everyone so when the killed bootstrap they had no way of getting his blood mainly because they didn’t know. That’s why they needed Will turners blood so they went out on the search for him plus the gold medallion he had. That’s why right before Jack kills barbossa he cuts his hand giving his blood debt so that when Will does at the correct moment the curse is lifted allowing him to kill Barbossa. Also this confirmed to Jack that the ocean curses are real.
