It is sad to know that Seabiscuit died of a heart attack just before his fifteenth birthday and six months before his grandsire Man o' War who lived to be almost thirty. I can't help thinking that he gave his all whenever he raced and that means he put all his heart into it. What a brave little horse!
The cinematography was great the way Seabiscuit was cutting between the other horses passing them, I have watched this video many times and always gives me goosebumps that great horse!

@@kwgrid Oh I see what you mean - yes that is true - I have watched the original race and you are indeed correct about that - he was never more than 4th place. The part where Sea Biscuit got trapped in the pack and Red Pollard was jostled somewhat is true though - that is documented. Like you say Hollywood did use some artistic licence in that particular scene but I think we can forgive them. Another part that was not accurate was the distance of how much Sea Biscuit won by - that to was slightly exaggerated but he did win convincingly. However, the portrayal of race with War Admiral is incredibly accurate. If you watch the scene in the movie and the original footage you could swear they reconstructed it frame by frame. We also know direct from George Wolfe that Red Pollard told him the night before to ease off half way around and let Sea Biscuit catch up so that Sea Biscuit could look War admiral in the eye - you can also see that in the original footage. I hope we can at least agree that, even though Hollywood used artistic licence, that the story of Sea Biscuit is an inspirational one nevertheless? You may or may not know that; when Sea Biscuit died they did an autopsy on it and found that it had an exceptionally large heart and exceptionally large lungs for its size. Experts believe this explained it's exceptional abilities although this meant the horse would not live a long life. Even so, I find it remarkable that Sea Biscuit appeared to have its own personality and a self awareness of its own power. Take care.
