Barney's my favorite side character. Such a gentleman and so kind to Vivian, from the moment he called Bridget to help her find an appropriate dress. Love him!
When Harry Met Sally is the sweetest, most wholesome rom-com out there, not to mention the most realistic. Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley (2005) is not only a fantastic story, but beautifully cast and shot. For straight up fun in all categories, The Princess Bride is perfection.
@@WillTalksMovies I was thinking that you would probably love "Galaxy Quest", if you haven't already seen it. Think of it as a very tongue in cheek love letter to Star Trek and its fans. It's a masterpiece in comedy.
P.S. Richard's last name Gere is pronounced like the "gear" in a car. He and Julia Roberts are in another film together, called Runaway Bride. You might find it fun, too! Not as great as Pretty Woman, but it's sweet.
Please check out Last Holiday, starring Queen Latifah. It's another movie where an everyday woman goes into the rich, high life, like this film and The Devil Wears Prada.
Interestingly, Richard Gere's casting mirrors his role in American Gigolo which was a crime drama but Pretty Woman's screenplay didn't start out as a 1990s musical as it was a lot grittier and realistic as exhibited by the shots of "Skinny Marie" being found in a dumpster; the original title was "3,000" and was supposed to be a cautionary tale of class and sex work on the streets of Los Angeles but Disney's Jeffery Katzenberg ordered a rewrite and it became a modern day " Pygmalion" instead. Since, the film has passed into legend not least because it became a sleeper hit that broke box office records for receipts from a romantic comedy, much like Four Weddings & a Funeral did years later; the fairy godmother from Shrek references Pretty Woman alongside Sleeping Beauty & Cinderella as a "Happily Ever After Story. " Amazing film that still stands up to the test of time as it tells an age old story.
Movie watching tip for you is The Three Musketeers from '93. Bravery, swords, love, friendship and fun. I love it and I think you would too. Someone should really react to it as one of a lot of really great 90's movies!!
It's actually "Pretty Woman," not Women. The chemistry between Julia Roberts and Richard Gere was so strong. The scene where he closes the jewelry box as she reaches for it was not scripted. Gere was just messing with her, but her huge smile and laugh was so beautiful, the director left it in.
checkout The Edge of Seventeen it’s based where i’m from (Portland Oregon) so i’ve always liked that haha, keep up the uploads! this movie is a classic
Why everyone who watched this movie thought he would no do anything, Even after sleeping with her and paying for it he don't treated her with disrespect, Not sleeping with her after paying would be more disrespectful toward her.
👍🏾 reaction. If you have not already please consider watching Frequency (2000), The Lake House (2006), Ransom (1996), Panic room (2002), Don't Say a Word (2001)
Ever heard of the movie Arthur? Stars Dudley Moore, Liza Minelli and John Guilgud. A lot more laughs and an all around good time. I highly recommend it. Well that and Steel Magnolias. That one has "Miss Vivian" here in it and is a story set in the wealthy south.
If you've watched "The Princess Diaries", you must remember that Mia dropped something that the waiter caught - so just a fun facts, this is the same director and the same waiter actor. In the Princess movie they copied this scene on purpose. You are right to notice more than one actor were in both movies, Garry Marshall RIP used any actor he liked, as cast for his other movies.
16:00 -what prejudice? Prostitution is illegal in US. She is breaking the law on daily basis. It's prejudicial to not want a criminal in your establishment?
The jewelry case scene was improvised. Her reaction was so spontaneous that they left it in the film.
I thought so. Seemed natural and not acting
Barney's my favorite side character. Such a gentleman and so kind to Vivian, from the moment he called Bridget to help her find an appropriate dress. Love him!
Such a classic movie. I think you would love "Romey and Michelles High School Reunion"
Never heard of that, will defo have to have a look :)
You beat me to the suggestion! 😁
Oh yes Pretty Woman is their favourite.
Looking forward to seeing your reaction to Romey and Michelle's HS Reunion"!

Now that you've seen this, you have to watch "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" So funny!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Will! 💄 It was directed by the great Garry Marshall. Be sure to catch BEACHES (1988) which is his best comedy/drama.
Thank you so much and I’ll make sure to check it out

Watch Legally Blonde. Is a sorority and law school movie. It would give you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.
I feel like this will be next
The guy who tells Richard Gere about "Sylvester Stallone's" house was the director Garry Marshall.
That’s such a cool cameo to have 😂
He was also the guy with the hose washing the sidewalk in front of the hotel after Vivian gets humiliated in the store.

26:02 - yeah, that was most people's reaction. Her ensemble is iconic.

Me: Oh, they're going to do more than that on the piano! 😉🤣
yes I did not know what was about to unfold 😂
One of my favorite movies. If you like Julia Roberts you should check out another one of her movies, Erin Brockovich. It really is a good watch

If you like Richard Gere, try An Officer and a Gentleman.
Watch them in Runaway Bride. It's a fun movie. I'll even say again that you have nice hair.
Barney is in it too.
These are great recommendations, thank you and for sticking around :)
26.10 He did it because she was hung over that day they filmed!😊
