That Revy bear must have been the one that got hit by a car last year. He was definitely looking both ways as he was crossing the street. Normally our bears would be fast asleep already but so far winter has taken a rain check.🇨🇦
At Jonesborough, the 'Carolina Coastal Railway' was good to see and read-up about, especially with their GP15s. Same for NPBL at Roanoke - another Railroad to look-up. Some good Freight Roster catches including one of my Accurail FMC Hoppers at Roanoke. Elkhart @10:30 - love the sounds from those two EMDs.
Always good to see Revy Bear, and we won't get to do it too much longer till spring. Loved the deer, the steam engine, and oh man, that bridge in Burlington--it was gorgeous. Fort Madison is always fun too. But I'll bet the drivers stuck at the crossing in LaGrange wish *they* could push a button like you do and make the trains go 5 times as fast lol! Another great one!!
Some of these trains are shiny & beautiful, others need a train wash🤭and I wish the taggers would stop destroying the trains with their graffiti..Tag your Momma and Daddy's house💯
I swear with all the cars and trucks trying to drive down the tracks there must be an app telling drivers: "In 50 feet turn onto railroad tracks, get stuck, damage your vehicle and pay a huge towing fee". Duh, o.k. Alexa!
To quote the Extra 2200 South, magazine,Penn Central was a 13D paint scheme, with no imagination! Still looks bad, even now! Oh,yes, the PC logo, had the nickname of mating 🪱worms!! Thankfully, the PC died quickly, but they did one thing, they got the Feds to acknowledge the neglect of the railroads! Silver lining in an otherwise miserable tale! Thank you 😇 😊!!!
Okay so two questions. When are we resetting the counter back to zero for the cars on the tracks in Ashland? And my second question is who here has seen the new CSX Heritage unit?
From the very first crossing, Revelstoke bear was always very good about avoiding traffic, what's up with last night and why the cliffhanger from VRF...? You can count on at least .75 Darwin /day at Wayx...heh heh heh.
It never creases to amaze me how often cars drive onto the tracks in Ashland. What are people looking at or thinking to do that? I just can't imagine doing that.
I don't know if VF reads these comments or not but I wonder if it would be possible to identify the locos (brand, model #) on the screen as they go by. Even just some of them?
Gives a whole new meaning to off the beaten road like here in Australia. Wasn't their a show called Malcolm in the Middle, Maybe that's his name, You really can't get much closer to the middle than that but a Train i am certain would help this person get off the tracks no problem, The vehicle will probably be a fair bit shorter though. Hope you got an Airbag. Really nice Video, Loved the Action, Some really nice Trains. Cool Stuff.
Funny how the bear takes the same path across the street and behind the same house. Must be a food source back there. I would be the poor soul that goes out to empty the trash just as he makes his visit and I would rapidly hope I could float to get away from him. Very predictable path for him.
Pacific Lumber Company Locomotive No. 37, once in service Wilmington & Western, had been sent to to SRC for restoration by Timber Heritage Association, which decided to abandon that project, sell 37, focus on a different loco
Maybe the city needs to put a ramp at the intersections in Ashland so cars that do get stuck between the track can back out without going over the drop off. I can;t understand why people continue to pull on the tracks there
Whether that would be a workable idea or not since that would block the tracks most of the time when the trains have the right of way would be an extra complication that might not be advisable. The main concern would be where would the funding come from to pay for what would be doubling+ the cost of gate protection at all grade crossings. You might want to check up on the cost of a single crossing gate installation and also, just as important, it's average maintenance cost each year. That makes it NOT so easy a fix.
No trouble at all. Just like the train triggers the current gates, the train would trigger the new ones to raise for the train to go by. Same technology.@@kennethhanks6712
you call them darwin candidates but not everyone has twenty minutes to waste while you park a mile long train on the crossing in england we put a footbridge for safety
Love seeing the Lehigh Valley. Brings back memories both grandfathers worked for the valley. Most of it now a rail trail
Engines and landscapes and fools, Oh My! Okay this was as always a wonderful blend..
Wow! Great catching all the trains and both the deer and a bear, especially the CSX Santa in Ashland, Virginia, Virtual Railfan, thank you.
Many Blessings to the CAMERA CLEANERS!! 😊👍 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Awesome job Virtual Railfan! 👋🏼
Cant believe you missed the 5432 in the power move at Ft. Madison, great sunset👍
Ashland needs a ramp for these occasions.
BNSF yellow swoosh at Fort Madison. We haven't seen it in ages.
I can't believe we missed that! 19:12 Thank You!
I was thinking the same thing watching then into view there it was.
❤ the winter sunshine

Hola! Viva Mexico!

I'm now thinking they're driving on the tracks JUST to get on VR highlights‼🤔🤣🙃👍
Once again greetings from berlin 😀
Loved seeing the "BNSF Golden Swoosh" at 19:55 !
Great Burlington shots.
Glowing ducks anyone?😂
Glowing pelicans! Loved to see them too!
They were Pelicans
How people keep on mistaking train tracks for a road,I have no clue. Never have I ever thought of going on them while going across a crossing.
At least some of those wrong turns likely involve alcohol.🙄
Paint the Whole crossing in bright yellow Striping.
They were just following their GPS 😂
I think more of them tend to happen at night.
Thanks
I love the irony of a cyclist wearing a helmet for safety then taking the bike between railroad cars. )

hello virtual railfan & it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
Bear,Darwins, lots of nice EMD power through Roanoke and great stuff on all cams!🛤🚂
CALL the 800 number on the BLUE sign on the crossing. Best way to alert the RR.

That Penn Central unit looks like the originals……tattered paint and run down looking! 😂

Been a while since we have had a knucklehead on the tracks in Ashland.
What a cute little bear

Well, if this is the same bear I saw get hit by a car some months ago, the car didn’t fair so well due to the bear’s size.
The ending was WOW.

Some have said that Google Maps gives instructions to turn there.

What, no mention of "The Golden Swoosh" at Ft. Madison?
Yep, missed it. 19:12 In all fairness, we're all pretty busy. one time in 40 isn't bad though, lol.
Excellent Video!

The bear says; "Look, LIsten, Live."
26:08, NS AC44C6M 4654 and 4649! Brand new locomotives!
13:53 for the goober.
Yesterday I saw an Amtrak silver service with a p42 alc 42 and a dash 8! Right out my window!
Well, I guess someone could mistake a road between the tracks!?
Even the bear stops at the tracks before crossing
But still crossed against a red.
@@John-cg8hb they are working on teaching him that now 1 thing at a time 🤣
That car is probably fooked in the suspension area.
Hoping to see the meteor I saw on the La Plata cam a few days ago.

Repeat after me: I am not a hi-rail truck.
I’m only guessing. Until enough of them that turn onto the tracks get sent flying into next year this will never stop

Given that the bear had a young bear in tow earlier this year, I suspect Revy is a she.
11:00 Revy bear. Go to sleep. 😊
Does anyone know where that tank engine on that flatbed at Strasburg is heading off to?
Age of Steam Roundhouse
That was so beautiful! I wondered about it too--thanks for asking!
What does "NPBL" stand for? And where's the tank engine going? I was unaware that Strasburg had a 2-8-2t.

Chicago to the east and basically all points west on BNSF and connections.
Chicago-east, Kansas City-west, Burlington North/east K LIne, St. Louis -south/west K line

When are they going to put barrier gates across the tracks to prevent cars from turning onto the tracks? It is such an easy fix.

Bears put on some weight or bigger bear.
They have as many clowns in Ashland as they do LaGrange. Just saying.
Not as many as in Washington DC.
