Please talk more about the session structure and what is expected from the students during rotations, what makes you think that a student is good as a supervisor.
This is random but I thought you may find it interesting, I recently tested positive for a mutation on FLCN and so I’m positive for Birt-Hogg Dubé Syndrome which is very rare. Not good news or anything but pretty interesting I think.
I did get accepted my first try, but I know lots of great genetic counsellors that had to go through multiple rounds - it’s very competitive! If you’re sure this is the path for you, it will be worth it ☺️
Hi,i had amniocentesis done as my baby had unilateralMCDK. The result says. 46 XY baby .with multiple abnormalitiesin chromosomes 1,2,3 ,4 ,5 ,7 and 11.and that is all the report says .now I. Had been counseled in an extremely shitty way .basically them saying we dont know .we dont know we dont know . Just abort the baby. I choose not to abort and just delivered a month ago .the baby is normal just one kidney is displastic. my pregnancy was a killing journey for me and now knowing he has chromosome aberrations.not knowing the outcome .i feel like I will be worriedfor him for the rest of my life. can I ask you ,do all chromosomal aberrations detected on amniocentesis array pathogenic or serious .we dont have any serious diseasesin our family, just things like heart attacks and diabetes.plzzz guide me.
That sounds very stressful, it’s good to hear your baby was born healthy and is doing well. Unfortunately without seeing your full medical chart and genetic test reports, I cannot give you any guidance. If you’re hoping to speak to a local genetic counselor, there may be consultation based services available in your area. If you need assistance connecting to a GC, please let me know.
No, I watched the video also because I like transparency and we’re human so Sharing personable moments is welcomed as well because “life be lifing” for all of us lol. Keep up the good content.🫶🏾🥰
That's definitely not true. Majority of the conditions I see are not passed down from parents (I am assuming you are referring to autosomal recessive conditions). Most couples in consanguineous relationships have healthy children :)

Do you find that the parents of the majority of these babies are cousins?

What degree is required for a career like this? An MS?
@@lalabest1aj yes! It’s a specialized MS degree
