Great video, man! I loved every fucking minute of it. I love it when people tell me I smell bad, because it’s just a perfume they don’t understand. It’s usually something that is meant to be dirty though. You don’t pick up Labdanum in your chypre’s? That’s usually a key ingredient and is what makes most chypre’s leathery (when paired with oakmoss) even when they’re not considered leather chypre’s. But I agree, 31 Rue Cambon isn’t a chypre in my opinion. What do you consider Vol de Nuit? That’s one that people always say is either a chypre or oriental (sometimes both and Guerlain actually state that’s it’s an oriental chypre) but I see just a straight up chypre with oriental qualities of course.
Vol de Nuit’s mossy floral opening and powdery vanilla drydown doesn’t fully commit to either genre specifically, but it could labeled as gourmand and I’d just the same.
Every now and then I find myself coming back to this video. It would be really awesome if you could do a video of your favorite Chypre fragrances of all time.
Euge, I saw your past video and you wanted to delve into other brands. Honestly, the reason I watch your channel is how passionate and knowledgeable you are with your fav 4. This is good content! Stick to the 4!
Jasmine.. Oh, how I like it very much. Very strong though, ..too strong for many. I wonder how many flowers of jasmine make a bottle of 31RC or Joy or 24 Faubourgh.. Besides Eugen, Manny loves him some 31..It’s his jam (must be something in the Ontario beer). I love 31Rue Cambon, and I’m out of samples...
Great review Eugene I don't care what people think of what fragrance I wear.btw I got my decant of Fredrich Malle the Moon you asked me to tell you what I thought of it. I love it thank you for suggesting this fragrance.
I love 31 rue Cambon. Your review was great. RE the BO (armpit) note: I sometimes detect it, but it’s only there (that I can tell, on my skin) in the first hour, and it’s very intermittent. I recently bought the EDP version, as I was living off of the fumes of the EDT from the early release. I am so impressed with the EDP. To me, it smells very, very similar to the original EDT.
The beginning of 31 rue Cambon reminds me off Coco eau de toilette and the dry down is Closed to Mitsouko eau de toilette By Guerlain but warmer, with a little bit amber to my nose. I really like 31 rue Cambon as much as Coco eau de toilette ❤️❤️
Subversive as ever, Eugen! :D Never tried 31RC. Wish I could! In relation to indolic jasmines, out of curiousity, do you eat a lot of spicy/oily food? In some skins, that can cause the indoles to become more prominent. If possible, try Salome (Papillon) - it has a gloriously skanky jasmine. SOTD: Antiquity (ALD).
Oh yes, "31, Rue Cambon"... I purchased one of the last (if not THE last) 200 ml EDT bottle at the Toronto Chanel boutique about 2-3 years ago, right before the reformulation into EDP. I use it only a few times a year and mostly when I go to my local bar where everybody knows me and my scent obsession.
Hummm... today I get a vibe of Marlon Brando "The Wild One". Cute hairstyle, leather jacket...wheres the motorcycle? Maria is not only beautiful but a very lucky lady 😆😆 😍😍😍😍
🤣 "What are the greatest chypres of all time" is what Eugen contemplates while sitting in a religious service, presumably while the priest is probably talking about the meaning of life? 🤣 This is too funny. I love it.
You should be a priest or something ...this was like listening to a sunday liturgical mass by a priest who is in his heart a true atheist and intelectual....Love this :):):):)

31 is my favorite from Les Exlusifs. So refined, so Chanel :)

I'm wearing original Dior Fahrenheit. It's one of my all time favorites for cold weather.

I need to make my way out to the Chanel boutique to try some of the exclusives.

I got a sweat smell while sampling today. Slightly, but it is there for sure.
My favourites from the line cuir de russie and 1932
One of my favorite out of the line
Phenomenal reviewer
1957 is the best in the line, pure class!
Trying it now for the first time. Really beautiful.
I've been putting off getting into the exclusive chanel line so this is helpful for when I do 🙏

Great video bro enjoyed this one - Nik
I do get a BO vibe from this in the dry down... The EdT is much more complex than the EdP imo

Eugene T congrats on that last edt bottle.
I don't get that notes in Rue Cambon :/ It's mostly wet fleeting patchouli in the opening and then a photorealistic, funeral flower bouquet :P
31 , one of the best
Chanel 31 Rue Cambon is the most beautiful perfume ever made.

are those Heretic Parfums on the top shelf? The red coloured bottle seems familiar...
What does 'sheepra' mean?
*Eugene explains , in as many as, 3 easy ways how not to get re-invited back to those pesky unwanted family gatherings* .

Love the leather jacket bro! Is this stronger than Byredo?
A man after my own heart! I too, find myself wondering, "what are the best chypres of all time?" when I should be thinking of other things....
Looking extra sassy!
Nice tale 👍
Hey 👋 gene. Blessings general. I hope you are well and doing okay. Sounds like good 😊 fragrance.
Them's church thoughts. ⛪

Removing the atomiser from your brother-in-laws AdG is what I want to see.
