instanced and non instanced dungeouns(zones) ---- personally - IF you have raids -those must be instanced, because when a raid goes thru an area where other players are doing levelling or questing it kills the quest or the gains of levelling. and you can up the toughness of the mobs in those instanced zones to accomodate the levelsof the players in it. open dungeons - nice - but its difficult to get the refresh rate of mobs right. and in that i like the occasional high mob thrown in the mix of the refreshed mobs ( hmmm5 lvls) maybe??? so like your questing or levellingand doing blue mobs and allof a sudden theres a mob that pops yellow or red and has a specialmonicer name with better drops( weapon, armor, specialspells, etc.season specific looking stuff???) i like the instanced dungeons / zones like eq did with the ??? what was it ?? wayfarers stone stuff? that was nice.(can't get in without the wayfarers stone) ( do similar for PVP characters??? - special stone or chest armor or necklace that makes them glow or shine to other PVP players? and only they can hurt each other.)- onlythey can see each other on maps ???etc. so anyway i like both instanced and non instanced zones when done correctly.
DEATH - yes XP loss is a must (scaled to lvl) losing a lvl when you die sometimes was how eqstarted. it was a given! at low to mid levels cropse runs are ok. but also have a system of buying a corpse gathering service- if your wealthy enough. (( playing eq again now and iamwondering where the sumoning stones for corpse summons dissapead to -used to be a gnome or something in the side rooms of the lobby guildthat had those??? where are they now???)) Loss of ITEMS/gear - again in the beginning of eq it was a given - and i and friends always kept old gerar in the bank, just in case!,if you bring it back i hope you willalso make a special bank area to keep old gear - instead of making us destroy it ! ( one little question asked before the character destroys things - doyou need this item if you die? ) or shall i put this in the death bank space? just that little reminder that you can lose items on death. will make a big difference on how people hoard stuff. loss of coins ??? - no please need that toget my corpse back! but then again - it makes people put money in the bank! maybe a reminder at the bank window when closing it ?? you need (X) ammont to buy a corpse summon !( IF the stones are brought back)
i think you missed a backgroud the company can pull from ( Vanguard) didnt they produce that? i bought it but it was tooopen and i couldn't figure out where to go or what to do next. if it came out now--- it would be likea throwback to the original EQ game.... difficult to begin and needs alot of help between players. also don't remember a good beginning for that game. it did a bad job of what variables characters had control of. how to find quests, where to begin crafts, etc. would be nice to see a starter area like gloomingdeep. but with all the things a character can do started to oh level 25 or 30 in the ??craft/spell/combat... etc. and ihope like hell they have a way for everything crafted to be used! because in EQ the silk crafts ended with threads! inever found anything touse those threads in!
CASHSHOP--- i like the cosmetics for the weapons, the armors are ok but they shouldbe earnable also .not just bought! maybe earned by crafts or abilities? maybe special robes given for 5 new spells made??? especially if it gets added tothe games proliferation of spells.??? oh and what about like other games - if you marry 2 different characters - what will be the results??? ( iksar-vah shir = ???)
@@legendarybloodlines good and eveil ??? yeah i suppose ... i remember a rating... too many attacks on friendly people made your slider move towards the evil side. but it was rather hard to do questing because your goodness level would drop too far for a cleric or a paladin to do any questing ! so that needed to be fixed back then. my paladin lost all his good spells one time because i needed to kill some animal in the boonies and when i finally got back to town with what i needed the guards killed me because i was now too evil to enter the city.
lol yeah eq reputation was the first real rep in any game... kinda funny you could even go to bastion remember? is that what it was called? the place for neutral bc you couldnt even go bad or good anymore @@jeffreyrayborn1871
PVP --- i hated PVP because people would run by and kill me . if you do PVP - keep it away from those that want to quest and cooperate together! arenas, city wide championships, special runs or races across country but with rules that dont let the PVP players kill the non PVP players. (scavenger hunts ???) with PVP fights at the areas where the pieces are found??? things like that. but keep the killers away from the non killers!
Lol pvp was so broken after the pvp servers launched. It did ruin the game for many people. The zone humping stealth scout classes were just ridiculous. I remember staying up for an entire weekend to try and get #1 on the server with my dirge. I will say for sure in eq3 we will need some serious thought put into pvp if they want it to be good at all. It was basically an afterthought for eq2 like eq1 and it still shows till this day. I say let the questers quest. Let the gankers gank each other...but for the love of God just give us eq3 :)
@@legendarybloodlines I agree ! i just hope IF they do PVP they keep them to themselves! The class system too with the good and evil versions is sick and hopefully we get the same system for that too.
