Kenyatta, your channel was the deciding factor on which smoker to get. I was torn between the Yoder Wichita, the LSG, and the Franklin. Love what you do, keep it up!

Thanks TJ, I hope you enjoy the LSG! I have to admit that I am also intrigued by Franklin’s offset but some of that comes from my admiration of Franklin himself. And that price tag….. yikes 😳

@@BackyardSmokeMasterBBQ I agree, that price tag is crazy, although I bet that smoker is killer. I've watch your lsg maintenance video and plan to follow your suggestion with the mineral oil. Thanks again!

Hey Kenyatta - Boy…there is absolutely nothing wrong with this cook. We love Pork belly in this house! I traditionally cure pork belly to make bacon but I have done a version similar to yours (I removed at 150°-155°) & it was still very tasty. I’m going try your version, (taking it to 200°+) it was sooo juicy. Pitmaster X also had a pork belly vid, about 3 months ago, where he smoked then fried the belly, which I will try as well. Pork belly is so versatile. I too wish your wife was there, her feedback is so genuine, especially when she really likes what she’s tasting. Thanks for sharing. Be well my friend!

Thanks Mark…. curing pork belly is on my bucket list. I agree, pork belly is versatile. There are so many different ways to cook & season it. All of them are tasty! Take care!

Another great and informative video. Been wanting to smoke a pork belly for a while now, maybe this weekend will be the time. How do like the Meater temp gauges? I currently use Inkbird products but was thinking of picking up a Meater. Thanks for all you do.

Thanks Carlos….. on a scale of 1 - 10, I’d give the Meater+ a 7 which maybe a little generous. The app is polished & overall, it does what it’s supposed to do. The biggest problem is that the wireless signal can be spotty if you aren’t using a “signal repeater”. I’ve found that I need to leave another phone or tablet near the probe in order to send a stronger signal back to the device that is near me. When the signal is good, the Meater is great. When the signal is weak, then the Meater can be a little frustrating. Overall, FireBoard is still my favorite but I don’t regret having the Meater+.
