Thanks you for this video! I had the exact same problem and Bissell didn't offer much in the way of help. A replacement on the open market now costs 50 USD for my model, so a $9 investment in the right glue was worth the risk. Worked like a champ, and I'm back in business.
Bissell should be ashamed and offer free shipping or free replacement part.. yeah, I have one too but these things are getting pretty old probably at least 25 to 30 years..my says only 10 cleaning rows hmmm

That repair lasted me about a year. I found a replacement kit and replaced the front of the vacuum and the holding tank.
