You mentioned Ted not being naive, and it reminded me of this quote... Ted Lasso reminds me of an American version of Captain Carrot Ironfounderson from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series.

The concept from the beginning was set up to only have 3 seasons. That's a good thing because they'd planned out the entire show from beginning to end. Too many shows overstay their welcome and by the end kill everything you liked at beginning. I'm happy that won't happen with Ted Lasso.

I really love comedy that isn't afraid to explore more serious topics in a way that isn't cynical or sarcastic. I think both shows but particularly Ted Lass really have this whole "kindness is cool" thing. I think a lot of media portrays people who are optimistic and kind as stupid or naive. Can't even hide how much I love this show. I don't know the exact timeline for when Olivia Wilde left/dumped Jason Sudekis to go run off with Harry Styles, but I'm betting it was before this show, and that was a big part of Ted's goodbye to his wife on the show. And, because you love Roy Kent, you should listen to Brett Goldstein's podcast, 'Films to be Buried With' (oh, I guess now we need to say "Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein"). He's pretty much the total opposite of his character, and has some funny stand up on TH-cam, too. He was originally a writer on the show and fell in love with the character of Roy, and sent Jason and and the producers an audition tape out of the blue and got the part.

I worked in Richmond a few years ago and it was interesting to see that they filmed so much in the town itself. It's one of the most expensive areas on the outskirts of London to live and it is very pretty with a large open park surrounded by houses and independent shops with little lanes to wander down. All of this was in the filming. They also filmed on Richmond Hill - a ten minute walk from the town and is famous for its panoramic view of the Thames as it snakes out of London. That's the bit where Ted and Keeley are spotted by the paparazzi. Your commentary is really fun to listen to and I love your laugh! Keep up the good work!

Awkward and uncomfortable situations are so hard for me to watch, I just turn it off. I can’t listen to call in radio programs for that reason. I actually feel the pain when someone makes a fool of themselves. I only recently (in the last couple of weeks) realized that this is what other people call anxiety. I’ve stopped watching this show several times already. The sad scenes don’t bother me. The benefit was agony to get through. Usually after a week or so I can continue but I used your reactions as a crutch instead. Having you to watch with me through the rough patches made it possible for me to watch two episodes today. After stopping the show, I toggle to your program, then back to the show. Ok, I know how weird that sounds and it makes me uncomfortable just saying it. It’s been an issue my whole life and I’ve never been able to put a label on it before. Bet no one has ever thanked you for your reactions for this reason before huh. All that said, a very heartfelt thank you.

Acoustic guitars are often electric, as well, in that they have a "pickup" installed which turns sound vibrations into electrical impulses. It costs about a hundred bucks to install a decent pickup in a musical instrument. I installed a pickup in my kalimba (African thumb-piano).

This show is literally the only reason I got apple tv and it was completely worth it. 29:02 a few years back I was at a hole-in-the-wall with my buddies and there was about half an orchestra's worth of instruments on stage with just one guy looking like he was part-timing as a golf caddie after class in high school. He sits himself down, messes with some electronic equipment, and then proceeds to spend about 2 hours playing incredibly, non-stop, full covers of songs across all genres and decades using repeating loops and playing 3 or 4 instruments at a time while singing. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen but I have no idea who he was and I've never seen him again.

As someone in London who has boarded 226 different dogs and owned 8, I always say to great Owners like your Family that you will never replace your Fur Baby but you could fill the void, and rather than dwell on your loss, you can still have all your wonderful memories and give another lucky dog a forever home :)

A wholesome, funny, emotional show with great acting and character development. No wonder it won so many awards! The show was so wholesome that I started tearing up at least 10+ times throughout the entire viewing .... It's just so good!
Season 2 got a lot deeper and dealt with things that really hit hard ... The shows writing is impeccable.

A show that despite it's silly premise delivers so much emotion and heart and shows how good honest communication can many times solve anything. I love it.
