We are now onto Chapter 5 in our playlist series here on TH-cam. In the next year you will follow us all the way from Mexico to Canada, with over 4000 nautical miles covered (mainly upwind!). So if you like a good old BASH, click subscribe and let us know, if you like beating up wind, or if your more about the downwind trade winds 🌬
Oh shoot, you are going north first? I thought you were headed for Hawaii first? Okay.... there is no way to talk you out of San Francisco so I will recommend the north/Napa side over the city ($$$ and very dirty) and you can see the floating neighborhoods; whole communities built on barges or boats or rafts. Avoid Crescent City, just go on into Oregon. Brookings is boring but Gold Beach is cute with a navigable river going inland... but Bandon is MUCH better in all ways. Newport is convenient and easy to use if you have the money, Florence is similar but better if you want to take a day or two for sight-seeing. If you want a challenge, Depoe Bay is the smallest Harbor that I know of - a rectangle of about 120 x 300 meters blasted out of solid rock that you might need a pilot to guide you into on a bad day. Avoid the mouth of the Columbia River unless you want a good scare. It is always so bad there that it is where the US Coast Guard trains their rescue crews. Just brutal, unless you want to make a game of rolling your boat all the way over like the Coasties like to do. Good luck!
Oh, one other thing -- I know everyone and their brother is trying to tell you how often to turn the motors over, and there is only one that you should listen to - the people how MADE them.
‘Chase the weather instead of being chased by it’ is an excellent motto. One could even expand on this and say: Chase Life instead of being chased by it 😊
Pausing just 2 minutes into the video to say WOW! What an opening sequence! The music and jump cuts are television quality!! Nice work! Back to the video.
I’m so happy to see the two of you doing what you love again! You made some huge improvements to the boat but working that hard day after day is exhausting and it’s easy to lose sight of the goal. When Becka said the fires were lit again, I actually teared up a little. Thanks for sharing your joy with us!
I've enjoyed the last six months while you shared your work projects. Drum roll please. But it is 10 times better having you at sea in the search of new adventures. Always something to do on the boat I'm sure. I look forward to this sailing seasons videos. Thank you. Stay safe. ❤🙏
You select really good and appropriate music for your productions. And your videos are so well done, having the right balance of rawness and professionalism. Well done you.
Congratulations on being open to new dishes. I know the Brazilian curau de milho. It is really a good & practical option on a vessel. All ingredients last very long time
All the best for 2025! I've been following you from the start and love to see how far you guys have gone already. Looking forward to your future travels. You guys are a true inspiration. Thank you.
👋ahoy❗️Wishing both of you and the Tealu Tribe all the best in the new year🎉 looking forward to seeing you enjoying the fruits of your labour🔬 Tealu looking fine❗️✨️ahhhh to be out on the water🐬💙💦🤩
During nice weather that coast is some of the best. just don't get caught in bad weather, it can be real bad. But there is shrimp, Abalone, good fishing and the sun can be heaven.
I'm sure I've said this before (haha), but I think this is my favorite video of all time for your channel. Your music, narration, camera/drone work, etc... was on point. And Teulu and crew is back out cruising looking better than ever. Glad you had favorable conditions for your trip across the Bay, but those swells were enormous! 😳Congrats on getting back out on the ocean so you can enjoy the fruits of your ridiculously hard labor over the past 6 months. You deserve it!! 💙
B & Z, truly a performance to cherish, your time spent hard with each other going beyond the norm and incorporating the beautifully designed dodger. The introduction with this episode was magnificent, love the cinematography, sound and editing. Splendid Thanksgiving feast in Mexico, Roberta has inspired us before France, yet your dessert sounds just perfect. Again, wishing you both and the Tribe a very Happy New Years!
Hey Becka & Zach all up to date with episodes, excellent viewing and love watching you both work so hard but don’t forget to have some rest, I’ve messaged you earlier I have a surprise waiting for you 🤪😂⛵️
Wow, just wow. Brilliant Milestone episode. The recap intro was spot on, and the music was so touching. 8,000 miles and 1,000+ days at sea... You ARE Bloody Doing It!
In light of your comment on the smell of trees, I am excited for you to make it to the Pacific NW and the Salish Sea (aka Puget Sound). The waters up into Canada in the summer are full of densely forested areas that are fantastic to explore. I look forward to seeing you explore my home cruising grounds. Cheers from Seattle WA
Recommended stops along your way. San Diego’s mission bay. Balboa, CA, (would be cool to see you guys get In n Out Burger.) Long Beach, CA. Would be fun to go up in to San Fran. Would be awesome to see Teulu to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge. Stay safe! You’ve earned your salt!
Hello again, It's always a pleasure to see a new video from you two. I look at your site everyday just in case. When are you going to do some more work on your new dodger? Ok take good care and have fun. ciao geo
Your lifestyle is amazing to me. I spent eight years in college and graduate school and one year as a intern to be trained as a clinical psychologist. Then I spent one year as a post doc which is necessary for licensure in California and most states. As a reward for that accomplishment, my wife and I went to Europe on if it’s 17 days, it must be Belgium Amex tour in 1970. After that we didn’t get back to Europe until 92. Since 92 I have spent at least 2 1/2 weeks a year in Europe, but from 2009 I spent considerably more time because I worked in London for three years in the period 2000 to 2004. In 2001 I bought a place in Tuscany and vacation there from 2003 to 2016 when I sold it. Since 2016 I’ve gone back to Tuscany and Europe, probably on the average one and a half times a year. What I am saying is I spent my life building economic security before I spent my life, indulging myself. In addition, the work that I did had a significant societal payback component. I frequently worked with people with disabilities and economic challenges. In your case, you were putting the cart before the horse. I hope it works out for you as you appear to be very nice people.
I believe this young couple have picked an incredible path in life to follow then those of us who picked a path of working with the odd holiday thrown in. I applaud their selection and wish them great success in 2025❤️❤️
I stayed in Secrets Huatulco one time...best hotel ever. Try to get on land and ear as much mexican food as you can. Oaxaca and chiapas has the best mexican food
sometimes motor sailing is just a better option. I know some cruisers are opposed to motoring except to anchor or entering marinas, that's a bit ridiculous. You have an engine, use it. It was a beautiful little, uneventful passage.
Good to see you guys back on the move. I know it was super disappointing for you guys to have to sit out one season but your boat now is really so much better. Just curious how you guys are able to finance all these upgrades is it really just youtube or you are trust fund babies ? :)
Spending time sorting the boat before you sail a couple of thousand miles upwind, is vastly preferable to sorting the boat afterwards. Or worse still, during it...
Once again, what an enjoy full video !! Becka here in Spain, we have a similar recipe named Arroz con Leche . Check it out 😅. Wishing you fair winds and safe anchorages and a happy brand new 2025.
Best thing for a sail channel is a hot baby to look at . How do you think la vegabond got so big . With out elana Riley would still be working on a oil rig . Becca is beautiful , great story teller , looks great in bikini. Keep sailing ..
Are you being true adventurers tho or just pandering to others wishes, just seems like Nicole and Dan are more freewheel and independent you seem more commercial like the beetles 😅 like cockroaches engine going all the time, you seem to have lost the love of adventure but loving people instead. It's different than adventure but you are English so mostly sailing without stopping. I don't get the Vendée globe why would you. who knows you are on an adventure that's better than being in England anyway 😊
WOW, I guess I’m lost. I’ve got a lot of channels to keep up with. I was thinking you were on the east side of Mexico 🫵 😵💫 in the Gulf. I’m thinking you had to sail east from Malaysia.🇲🇾? 🤷🏻♀️ what do I know I’m confused 🤔 but that’s not all that surprising. I get that way sometimes. lol ………. I take it you’re heading to the sea of Cortez/Gulf of California. If you come to Seattle I’d be thrilled to meet you. I’m just a poor man so don’t expect much from me, and I’m old too. 🫵 🥹 You’re both wonderful 🤩

So are you all on anchor or in a marina?
So kool 👍
Propper sailing 🙂, although the trades are way more comfortable

When you friend said he was going on land for tacos and beers I had a huge rush of jealousy 😂 wish I was bloody doing it! 😂
Glad you liked it! Hope you enjoy the rest of the video!
I’m so happy to see the two of you doing what you love again! You made some huge improvements to the boat but working that hard day after day is exhausting and it’s easy to lose sight of the goal. When Becka said the fires were lit again, I actually teared up a little. Thanks for sharing your joy with us!
So lovely to see you both back doing what you love the most 🥰 I totally get how you feel Becka, being in one place for so long can be so frustrating ❤
Great to see you back out in the open water again and doing what do best , just bloody doing it.
Love the new Teulu!! Please tell Parker we miss him and his beautiful boat. Fair winds⛵️
Every Monday you both together bring light in. You keep showing me that I can do this if I keep moving forward. You keep my dream alive. Much love ❤
Love you kids! So very glad to see you on the water again. Safe journey. ❤
Your boat looks 🫵 👀 AMAZING. 🤩 she sets high and flat and her lines are perfect 👌.

Thank you, it's nice to know we got the balance right!
Love watching the boat updates. Takes determination and ingenuity! Good job you guys.
Incredible job, you always deliver the coolest stuff.
Great to see you guys back on the water looking forward to the season ahead
Congratulations on being open to new dishes. I know the Brazilian curau de milho. It is really a good & practical option on a vessel. All ingredients last very long time
I couldn't imagine getting a new car and not driving it for 6 months! Patience is a true virtue you have in spades!
All the best for 2025! I've been following you from the start and love to see how far you guys have gone already. Looking forward to your future travels.
You guys are a true inspiration. Thank you.
So glad to see you folks back on the high seas after all the amazing work you’ve put into your boat. Happy New Year.
🇺🇸Happy to see that you both have become seasoned sailors, I knew you would with experience. Well done!
Thanks!
Thank you!😁

👋ahoy❗️Wishing both of you and the Tealu Tribe all the best in the new year🎉 looking forward to seeing you enjoying the fruits of your labour🔬 Tealu looking fine❗️✨️ahhhh to be out on the water🐬💙💦🤩
Unleashing the dinghy brings new meaning to pulling the car out of the garage. Imagine installing the engine every morning!
During nice weather that coast is some of the best. just don't get caught in bad weather, it can be real bad.

Wow, just wow. Brilliant Milestone episode. The recap intro was spot on, and the music was so touching. 8,000 miles and 1,000+ days at sea... You ARE Bloody Doing It!
I hope you both had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. thanks
Nothing better than looking at your boat and thinking isn't she/he a beauty!
In light of your comment on the smell of trees, I am excited for you to make it to the Pacific NW and the Salish Sea (aka Puget Sound). You guys are bloody doing it. And you earned it! ❤
Gosh, I get exhausted just watching your videos! That must be because I am 84.

I was just in Punta Mita and saw your boat at the marina. I can’t wait to start my own adventure. Stoked for you ‼️

A shared project is also really good for relationships too..

Well wishes from Pembrokeshire in Wales on your ongoing travels.

Nice to see you on the water again. Would swap your 18 degrees for our 9 degrees in the UK or 30 degrees in Brisbane. Happy New Year to you both.
When you passed La Crucecita, it would be interesting to know how the depth changed when you went over the drop off.
Tell Parker to give us an update!
Did you really need to use the winch to lift the dinghy? Must have been a heavy night - I dig that lol
When do you think you’ll find time to finish the Dodger and any other smaller Projects? Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy 😎
We are planning on finishing the dodger next week😁
Great show 👍😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ll have to go back and review lol 😆. I don’t remember your going through the Panama Canal. 😵💫 I guess that would have been some episodes ago.
if you make it to brookings Oregon you should get a ride inland to see Oregon caves i think it worth the trip
Get up to rosarito for some good surfing..K2 surf break..greetings from windy north Wales
Ya said brother, all boats are built for sea, not marinas👍🇺🇲🇺🇲👍❤️
Tell Parker we miss his videos.
Did Parker follow you there, I hope so, he is such a sweet man.
It depends how old you are!
Are you going to visit Laguna where dolphins and fishermen work together
