One of my top 3 JB songs, along with Come Monday and The Captain and the Kid. And God bless you, Delaney for these videos. I loved your Dad’s music, but seeing the man, hearing his stories, and watching him with you, I love your Dad. Thanks for sharing him with us all these years.
I'm so glad you left in the entire interview! This is GOLD for the life long Buffet fans. Thank you so much for doing this. I could listen to the stories for hours!
And especially valuable now that he's gone. Thank you Delaney, for making these tapes. They're a wonderful gift to all of us old parrot heads who grew up with your dad, who loved his music as well as his joy and love for life, and lived vicariously through his books, concerts and many adventures. May God bless and keep your family at this terrible time, and i pray that dad's fans are leaving you alone to grieve in private, or however it is that you wish to.
Thank you Delaney! So grateful to have your dad in my life ❤my hero😇. I knew of him in the early 70s and I became a fan. By the early nineties he fell into the category of “guru” for me🙏🏽 As a 2nd grade teacher, I found many avenues to integrate his stories & music into our curriculum 😅 The “Jolly Mon” story and song lyrics were a big hit! We even produced it as a class play 🎭🎸🎹🏴☠️🏝️ Of course, my own 3 children became Parakeets, then on to be Parrot heads🦜❤ Very thankful for all that he shared, especially the grace he gave in his final years. Heartfelt condolences to all of JB’s family, friends and fans.
Thank you Jimmy for recording these videos. We didn't know what challenges you were facing with cancer, but you knew how isolated we felt with the pandemic 😢. You will always be my hero.
Its videos like this with musicians thats the best videos to watch. Its not produced by some company where its heavily edited. This is a video thats very natural. Its more up close. From when his wife was on the phone to when Jimmy got a bit frustrated because he didnt like the one part how he sang. I appreciate watching this.
This is so great Delaney. Thank You! The fact that you and your dad sat down and did these videos shows how there's always a human being behind all the fame, and a real family that went through it all. Godspeed Jimmy, and peace to you the whole family.
Keep Jimmy in your heart for a while. He'll always love everybody, when all is said and done. Hold him in your thoughts. Take him to your dreams. When the winter comes, keep the fires lit. Keep him in your heart for a while.
These are just so heartwarming - just a dad and his daughter (and mom) sharing special moments about the incredible life and memories. I'm so grateful to you, Delaney, for sharing these and for how honest these videos are. Those of us who have enjoyed and been inspired by Jimmy Buffett's music from a distance rarely got a chance to just sit down with the family and have a special moment.
I met a guy who played in a warm-up band for Jimmy for a tour. He said Jimmy was a true gentleman who paid attention that everyone in the show got taken care of.
I was hired to play for a new years eve party 1984? The boss " told me "don't even show up if you can't play something so feminine about mandolin".... I learned it, and I got paid...happy
Thank you for doing this. I am stuck in the office dealing with WiFi and computer issues/problems and just having Jimmy play at home makes me feel like he’s still here doing his favorite thing and showing his human side, like getting angry when he messes up. It makes me laugh because he doesn’t want to show that he is perfect but just wants to get the song just right. Gosh he is not even my dad or a family member, but your dad was awesome inside and out and what a lucky girl you AND your mom are by having such a sweet guy to spend days with. That’s the thing about a special person that has touched our hearts, when they are gone, it is such A LOSS! It’s like losing a very precious piece of jewelry in the ocean that as much as you look and try to find it again, you have to come to realize that it is lost forever which SUCKS!!! So I will keep playing these videos and keep on believing that Jimmy is playing at home but it brings me to tears to know that this sweet, talented, happy go lucky guy is gone. I just hope to see him in heaven to give him a big hug for all the years he gave his heart to music. His music reminds me of my good times in Key West, which is my Florida home in my heart so I guess that’s why his music means so much to me. I love the Keys and I spent camping there when I was young, took drives there with my dog and love the history and architecture. So Buffett music=The Keys= love.❤
Jimmy Buffett reminds me of a line in a Merl Haggard song. : I’ve lived the kind of Life most people only dream about , I write my songs and then I sing them !
I am so happy and proud of myself for having been listening to all Jimmys music for at least the last 35 years. I love this song. This was a great interview. I very much appreciate being allowed to see the more real, personal, off stage side of Jimmy. "We'll get ya a check!" That was funny.
These are so great to go back and watch now. I always had hoped that I'd get the chance to meet your dad one day and get him to sign a guitar for me. I still have my Martin HD-28JB and it will continue to be my most prized guitar. He added more to my life than I can say. Vaya Con Dios Mr. Buffett.
I'm so glad to see you guys putting these vids out. JB played a vicariously pivotal roll in my life back in the early 90's. He might remember the "Club Trini" hats (& cards & matches ... etc). :D Big Bob let me groupie around the country for that whole tour, which was one of the most fond chapters of my life. I sat next to Savannah at one of the Raleigh(?) shows. I think I'll dust off the whole "Beaches, Bars, Boats & Ballads" set all day tomorrow. XO
I've been a big fan way b4 the Parrot Head days, frankly before it was cool. My friends "were.. listening.. to acid rock until they were numb...at that time, you might say.
I agree the description of slender fingers and chords tastefully chosen absolutely describes Lissa Hattersly who would have been around picking with a group of Musicians in Austin.
Something so feminine about a mandolin, co-written by Jane Buffett. I believe Jane may have had something to do with I Live On a Big, Round Ball as well. Geesh, I'm not even related to you guys and I remember this stuff. Fair winds Jimmy! You will always be missed.
If it was Austin Texas, then the song idea may have started with this series for the Lone Star Hour. Here one can see that in this series, Jimmy with Willie Nelson, Greazy Wheels, and Sammy Smith, there is Mary Egan of the Greazy Wheels who is playing a mandolin. (link to video below) th-cam.com/video/bOvrLT0t1YA/w-d-xo.html You will see they are in a field somewhere in Austin, doing this series. 'Shelter Ranch'
Lil Bunny Morse.. The gentleman smugglers.. goggle it. And Jimmy Buffett is cooler than MJ 23.. Henley Thames Morse could sing Little Miss magic by 3 yrs old. 😎🦐😎🤟☝️🤌🐟👋👌🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰
This is pure Buffett. Just real folks. That is why he was so great.
One of my top 3 JB songs, along with Come Monday and The Captain and the Kid.

So true!
Jimmy seems modest and down to earth.
Thank you for making the lyrics of this song come true. This has always been one of my favorites. Sail on, Jimmy. We miss you.
One of the prettiest songs Jimmy has written.
Played this as a tribute yesterday at a music festival, bluegrass style. Folks were amazed it was a JB song. Yup, so many gems.
You have always been a favorite of mine.
I saw you at Jones Beach and it was awesome. What a perfect place for you to put on a concert.
RIP Jimmy.
Thank you Delaney! So grateful to have your dad in my life ❤my hero😇.

What a gift to us all to see Jimmy in his raw form. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thank you for sharing your father with us. So honest and pure. Only for his daughter would he have done this. ❤️😊
Wonderfully underrated deep cut. Makes me think of an old friend who loved that album. Wore it out every summer swimming at his house in Kentucky.
Thank You Delaney for sharing your Dad with us! These are moments to treasure, one of the most talented entertainers in my lifetime!
Man, it is hard to see him so old. Rest in paradise, Jimmy. Thanks for being the soundtrack to the best times of our lives.
Yes it is, but the voice never waivered.❤😢
Everyone gets old if they're lucky. Nothing wrong with looking your age.
I like to picture him entering paradise and ordering a cheese burger.
Fan since I was 15. Jimmy was 31 then. I love your dad. Thanks. There was only one.
This is so great Delaney. Thank You! The fact that you and your dad sat down and did these videos shows how there's always a human being behind all the fame, and a real family that went through it all. Godspeed Jimmy, and peace to you the whole family.
Thank you for sharing your dad with us, Delaney. This video was just what I needed right now. Much love to you and your momma.
Keep Jimmy in your heart for a while. He'll always love everybody, when all is said and done. Hold him in your thoughts. Take him to your dreams. When the winter comes, keep the fires lit. Keep him in your heart for a while.
Zevon love!

WE ALL MISS YOU JIMMY B. 🎄🏝Merry Christmas, Happy Heavenly Birthdays' to Jesus & Jimmy🍹
I met a guy who played in a warm-up band for Jimmy for a tour. He said Jimmy was a true gentleman who paid attention that everyone in the show got taken care of.
A father spends time with his daughter.beautiful!
Have always loved this song ... Truly a teasure. Thanks for sharing Delaney.
I was hired to play for a new years eve party 1984? The boss " told me "don't even show up if you can't play something so feminine about mandolin"....
I learned it, and I got paid...happy
Great story about a great song. Always one of my favorites; don’t know why he didn’t play it more.
This song, which is one of my favorites, along with this video is literally prophetic! God Bless Jimmy thanks for this song and video. Whoop!
This is FANTASTIC!!
One of my favorite songs! Gosh... Miss JB. What a treasure he left us with. (And, thank you, Delaney)

JB spread joy where ever he went. We've all seen JB the entertainer, but you've shown us JB the man. Thank you for sharing this guy with us, Delaney!
Miss him being in the world.
Absolutely wonderful. Thank you for sharing this ❤. He will be missed by everyone.
Jimmy Buffett reminds me of a line in a Merl Haggard song. : I’ve lived the kind of Life most people only dream about , I write my songs and then I sing them !
Love these videos - Thanks Jimmy and Delaney!
Priceless!
I am so happy and proud of myself for having been listening to all Jimmys music for at least the last 35 years.
I love this song.

Jimmy is a legend they never die they just fade away to an island
I have always loved this song...

I lived in Austin then and used to see you around town. The song, the instrument, and you always make think of those times.... somewhere near Austin.
I love this video. The conversation is awesome. The
song is lovely.
Say yes, Jimmy! Always say "yes"!!!

Great great great
National treasure!
My favorite! So glad this video exists.
Same here! Love all these!!
I love these videos! So nice to know you are just a guy like all of us!
Super fun! Thanks Del, Jane and JB. From the Schloem's on One Particular Harbor MM 52 Bayside. We love all the Buffett's.
I've been a big fan way b4 the Parrot Head days, frankly before it was cool. My friends "were.. listening.. to acid rock until they were numb...at that time, you might say.
I don't know that it's cool now to be a Parrothead.
Love these.
Every song is true by a poet , Texas poet
Absolutely love these videos 😊
She co-wrote “Kick It In Second Wind”
Pretty sure that song is about Lissa Hattersly, sweet mandolin player from Austin.
I agree the description of slender fingers and chords tastefully chosen absolutely describes Lissa Hattersly who would have been around picking with a group of Musicians in Austin.
I followed Greezy Wheels. I even asked Cleve (Lissa’s brother) in an email if that’s who Jimmy is singing about here. Cleve answered “Possibly.”

I’d like to see Sierra Hull play and sing this song
Go nana miss you jimmy 🙏🏻🥂🌴🦜

thank you for this, 50 years ago gone in blink, history like this needs to be preserved.
Trivia question - Did Jimmy ever write a song call "Let your smooth side show"? Please let me know.
Right now I'm learning My Head Hurts My feet stink and I don't love Jesus. Maybe Jimmy could tell us about that one.
Wondering if you ever found that gold anchor charm?
Love that interaction between Jane and Jimmy. They sound like my parents lol
Lil Bunny Morse.. The gentleman smugglers.. goggle it. And Jimmy Buffett is cooler than MJ 23..
Henley Thames Morse could sing Little Miss magic by 3 yrs old. 😎🦐😎🤟☝️🤌🐟👋👌🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰
