They could have slowly moved the lorry or throwed some canes on road side itself. insted they stoped the lorry. can't blame the truck drive they let them have some as everyone. This happens not only in here but have seen somany videos from other places also. Generaly they won't hurt if u move slowly without making such disturbing horn or noice. Why these places elephants don't attack without provoking is just because they got used to traffic movements.
This is not predictable in other less busy forest routes.

Foolish sugarcane lorry driver and all selfish passers by. No one has the courtesy to ask lorry driver to park left extreme, so that ambulance can pass thru the right. The Force vans passing by the left attracted the elephants to come on left, at least during that time other vehicle people could have helped the ambulance to pass thru the right side of lorry.
I believe this should have happened anywhere other than Tamil nadu.
