Nice show! Those engelhard rounds are some of the best I have seen. Love all of the vintage poured, but I don't know much about it to appreciate the rarity of each....but still very cool.

My favorite new style bar out of all I have seen is probably the 100 gram cast Scottsdale bar..I also like their 10 oz poured...but as far as vintage bars...I dunno, they all look really cool to me...especially the bread loaf shapped chunky looking ones..as opposed to the flat ones..I'll come across one I'm sure...are the premiums on those vintage usually a lot more than the newer bars?
Yes, vintage carries much higher premiums due to the age and collectability/scarcity. I have a bunch of Scottsdale products. Among modern bullion producers, they do a great job. I have the 5 oz prey bar, 5 oz poured, 10 oz poured, 100 gram and the stackers. Great stuff!
AWESOME!...sounds like you got most of the neat Scottsdale products..;)..they do an amazing job...and I figured the vintage carries a much higher premium, from what I have heard...but definitaley worth paying extra to get some neat stuff..;)
If you look in enough LCSs, you can occasionally pick vintage up for like 3-4 over spot. Some of the pieces, I have acquired for a few bucks over spot are commanding 40-50 per oz on the collectors market.

+Erli niner (9er) The H and H go for stupid premiums online. Most fetch 280-300+ range. I paid considerable less for mine. Most of these old pours have numismatic value, as collectors go crazy to add the more unique and scare ones to their collection.
Beautiful bars! I really dig those Amarks. anytime I see an old bar that is a strange weight I try to pick it up. Great job over the last month or two. 300 oz is no joke! Crazy!

Hey Stackmaster G, I got a question for you. I was at my LCS today and he had a silver bar which caught my eye. It was a vintage stubby thick bar and all it had on it was a stamp of a S with a crown above it and 999 stamped on it. It didn't have anything like weight stamped on it. It weighed 4.8 troy oz. So I asked him what company it was and he said "Silver Mat Co". So my question is if it is worth picking up for a couple of bucks per oz over spot. My intuition says yes, but I would like to know what you think. I can't find anything about it on the web. Thanks for your reply
Things seem to stabilize in the markets for me, although on a lower level. Just collecting my regular divs, using them for bills now. Maybe I will start re-investing next few months. Market has been disappointing for me since mid 2014, I am down overall since then. I just got 200 silver shillings from the UK and I also got the lunar tiger kilo and more monkeys. Will do a vid next few weeks. I think I want to pay off one of my mortgages this year, will probably buy much less PMs.

SMG, Watching this video again this morning. Crazy, unreal. I'm eyeing some vintage silver myself, especially if they're at same cost as the modern bars. I recently bought another 100 oz silver bar.....an Engelhard extruded style. Also, I was fortunate to have bought several ounces of gold, when spot was near $1100. Then, I decided to flip them all recently with gold at $1225. Score for me. Nice video again. Must be cold in northern California, I see you're wearing a vest. Ha.!! We just had 95 degrees last week and now mid-70's this week.
Thanks again buddy and so glad you are a fan of vintage. The return on investment can be very good if you get these rare bars at less than 4-5 over spot. When you get into ultra rare, spot is not even remotely a factor. They are like rare coins to some extent. I know of bars that have gone for 2-3 grand at auction. Those are very old ingots from the 40's-50's though and are almost never seen. Yes, it's been chilly here. Take a look at this blog, written by Ken Conway. silveringot.blogspot.com as a reference for vintage bars. He's a great guy who I have gotten to know over the last few months.
haha...yes, stay away from the those milk spots. I'm going to try and add some more gold myself. I picked up a handful of fractional 1/10th oz pieces in January for very low premiums, in fact close to melt. Wish I would have bought more, but you never know when metals will spike.
StackMaster G Very true about the price. I grabbed a gorgeous shield back half sovereign & have a 1/10 eagle on its way this week. I also got various silver from the Victorian era up to the 80's & traded some coin slides for a few modern pieces.
I buy all over, coin shows, dealers who I met through eBay, connections I have made on IG and YT. Some may ship to England. Don't really know that answer to that.

When our economy crashes do you actually think people are going to care about the rarity or numismatic value of those coins or bars. NOT. And my friend, if you pay a hefty premium for the coins, do some calculations to see just how high Silver will have to go before you actually start to see a profit worth of your collection. It has been known for some time now that precious metals purchases are not an investment perse, but a hedge against inflation which by the way is supposed to hit the ceiling in July. I always advise people to purchase 10 ounce bars sealed from the factory in plastic, or one ounce gold bars also sealed in plastic. That way buyers know there has been no fudging or funny business going on with their proposed purchase.
I do appreciate your concern. I have tons of bullion for that type of event that I highly doubt will occur anytime soon. I have lots of generic gold and silver at this point as a hedge. I won't need to part with vintage pieces and have no intention of selling those. I'm debt free with significant cash and real estate assets. If a crash occurs, I'll be using my cash to buy stocks and real estate at a very significant discount. PMs are like 7 percent of my portfolio.

Yep. It's an old Silvermat. They generally fetch 120-125. I'd pay 100 all day. Sounds like you can get it for 10 over. That's a steal man. Great find.

I'm eyeing some vintage silver myself, especially if they're at same cost as the modern bars.
I recently bought another 100 oz silver bar.....an Engelhard extruded style.
Also, I was fortunate to have bought several ounces of gold, when spot was near $1100. Then, I decided to flip them all recently with gold at $1225. Score for me.

Thanks again buddy and so glad you are a fan of vintage. The return on investment can be very good if you get these rare bars at less than 4-5 over spot. When you get into ultra rare, spot is not even remotely a factor. They are like rare coins to some extent. I know of bars that have gone for 2-3 grand at auction. Those are very old ingots from the 40's-50's though and are almost never seen. Yes, it's been chilly here. Take a look at this blog, written by Ken Conway. silveringot.blogspot.com as a reference for vintage bars. He's a great guy who I have gotten to know over the last few months.
Price is right doubt you can go wrong.

StackMaster G Yeah, i'm good thanks, still adding some gold & silver, mostly older stuff with zero chance of milk spotting.
haha...yes, stay away from the those milk spots. I'm going to try and add some more gold myself. I picked up a handful of fractional 1/10th oz pieces in January for very low premiums, in fact close to melt. Wish I would have bought more, but you never know when metals will spike.
StackMaster G Very true about the price. I grabbed a gorgeous shield back half sovereign & have a 1/10 eagle on its way this week. I also got various silver from the Victorian era up to the 80's & traded some coin slides for a few modern pieces.

When our economy crashes do you actually think people are going to care about the rarity or numismatic value of those coins or bars. NOT.
And my friend, if you pay a hefty premium for the coins, do some calculations to see just how high Silver will have to go before you actually start to see a profit worth of your collection. It has been known for some time now that precious metals purchases are not an investment perse, but a hedge against inflation which by the way is supposed to hit the ceiling in July.
I always advise people to purchase 10 ounce bars sealed from the factory in plastic, or one ounce gold bars also sealed in plastic. That way buyers know there has been no fudging or funny business going on with their proposed purchase.
I do appreciate your concern. I have tons of bullion for that type of event that I highly doubt will occur anytime soon. I have lots of generic gold and silver at this point as a hedge. I won't need to part with vintage pieces and have no intention of selling those. I'm debt free with significant cash and real estate assets. If a crash occurs, I'll be using my cash to buy stocks and real estate at a very significant discount. PMs are like 7 percent of my portfolio.
