how did you attach the jpeg image into chatgpt? Does it work with the free gpt ? Also ... does the jpeg need to have meta data - can I just take a screenshot of an image and then convert it to a jpeg to ask chat gpt to analyze it ????
JPG and RAW files typically have different color space. Perhaps if you told GPT this, it could accommodate for the change? Might also be worth telling it which RAW format you’re applying the preset to, as Nikon, Canon, etc are all a bit different through the “eyes” of Lightroom.

@@royvanderwens its a software photo enhancement when color grading, just like what you did, i enhance my personal photo with radiant, after that i did what you did with chat gpt to grab the settings of the AI so that i can make presets for Lightroom
Some people have bad results. Gpt isn't very complaint I've noticed. I'll work on a solid prompt that has a great results every time. So bare with me on this 💪🏽
Well actually it is closer than you might think. I have made the og grading on the reference photo and know what the setting are. The only thing GPT has trouble with, is the tone curve and calibration tool. Ironically real humans also have trouble with those tools 😂
@@royvanderwens Yes. I think there is big misconception that presets are this magical one click solutions. People buy presets from someone they admire and think that their photos will look exactly the same by applying presets. Presets can be useful in so many ways but are rarely a one click slap on solution
Absolutely! I mean, I've put in a lot of calibration between my camera, ND and most filters and the post processing. My grades are specifically made for my style of shooting. For now color grading stays difficult for most.
I have used ChatGPT 4o. it is a payed version. Idk if the unpaid supports it tbh. But what I do know is that the unpaid can find the settings, you only have to fill it in manually.
Theres only so many combinations of ways to grade a photo. Plus being inspired and copying are basically cousins. All inspiration comes from somewhere, if I see your grade and try to make it myself it's no different, assuming I figure out what you did. So, all this changes is that you can't gatekeep your editing method, which shouldn't be the determining factor anyway it should be the composition of the image.
Ask Chat GPT to "create an Extensible Metadata Platform file for me please" and it'll let you copy and paste code. I was not able to get to create a file though.
I had that same problem at first. But suddenly gpt decided to make them. You could ask gpt to write the file in xmp code and give you instructions on how to make the xmp file yourself. It is probably something simple. Let me know if that works :)
I don't have a paid version of ChatGpt .. so I cannot try, but I have an idea if someone could test it. Some photos are left with full exif data by their owners, so that could be easily read in Photoshop. Then you can manually enter those values in Lightroom and make a preset out of it. Is there a way chatgpt could do all this automatically, so you upload a jpg photo with full exif data to cahtgpt, and ask it to make an xml file (preset)? can you try that ? That would be 1 on 1 preset steal/hack .. or how you say it "interpratation" :D
I now understand. I think that would miss the point if it comes to "stealing" the look. But I do like the idea and definitely going to test it out based on accuracy. Thanks for the tip!
I wouldn’t say it’s stealing because you would not have the original image from someone else. This is like capture one’s match look it will get you in the ball park of the look of an image. Which let’s be honest everyone does this manually anyway
If it’s in the ballpark, it isn’t quite the same, don’t you agree? That’s why I mentioned in the video that it might be more like an interpretation of the look. I have to say, though, I’m impressed! But you’re definitely right; everyone is already doing this manually, haha. As a photography community, we have to share a bit to help each other out, I guess…
@ completely agree. Photography to some degree is always inspired by someone else’s work. Otherwise they wouldn’t be ‘editing styles’. I’m going to give this a go tomorrow see how it works out I have the capture one version that’s decent but it’s not perfect neither sometimes it gets a really good look and a lot of the time you end up thinking how does this look anything like that reference image
I tried several times now, and the results are really bad. It has a tendency to drive the temperature slider all the way on the blue, only uses limited settings, does not tweak the curve panel etc. I don't see any use for it at the moment. But good if it works for you. And thx for the video nonetheless :)
@@royvanderwens Yeah, didn’t do any good, im also subscribing to plus btw. Its quite limited at the moment, but the more people train it the better I guess.
@ my point is at the end of the day what is really being claimed here? “Oh I put teal in shadows and warm up the highlights, I lift the blacks and don’t let skin IRE go above 640, I add density to reds, and mute warmer greens” it’s all been done, in all combinations, some people just feel a need to charge lazy people to have it done for them. I think charging for presets & LUTS is absolutely ridiculous.

Thw Mac app from GPT. I don't know if you need a paid account to use it tbh.
