    I live in Ubud now. I just moved here 2 months ago and am loving it so far. I am an amateur chef traveling the globe trying the best cooking classes / schools to learn cuisines from different cultures. I have taken a ton of classes here and I think the best, for fellow tourists out there, is Bali Farm Cooking School. Why I love it: it's outside of Ubud (transport included) so you get into real, lush, green nature and start your class out by picking vegetables and herbs straight out of the garden. It's all directly farm to table with 6 different courses to prepare. The food is incredible and staff super helpful. Would HIGHLY recommend. Cheers!

    7:19 This is what we called TOUCH SCREEN FOOD REPLICATOR.
    You just choose the food by touching the screen , and the food will prepare and appears!
    Indonesian find it before Star Trek era.

    Umm.....I was there Ubud in 1999. Yes an unforgetable 'must keep coming back' experience, cultural centre. Two things you don't seem to cover - 1. the magical Buddhist aire of the place, the constant mellow chimes and atmosphere. (Has it changed since '99?) And the homestay - you are joking! at the price I think you made a mistake, 42Can $ I think you meant 4.20 Can $ per night inc b'fast.. I paid $1.75 for both of us that night, doble bed mosquito net and...you can imagine, simple paradise foor an Englishman!, a couple of black crawly things but nothing too scary!! For sure Ubud up near in sight of the volcano is a lure of a lifetime!

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was 42 CAD for what you saw. It was a complete studio. What you pay was almost 20years ago. Some thjngs has change. Thanks for watching

    Nice job and thank you for sharing; I notice you said how much it was for the hotel and a couple of other things but you didn't say how much you spent for the hike, how much did you pay the tour group for the hike?

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pricing for tours depends a LOT on season and which company you book with and even for how many people you book at the same time. We paid about 35USD per person at that specific time.

    I am guessing you are using a Go Pro for the walkaround footage?
    Do you use a chest harness or handhold the camera?
    Great video's by the way.

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use the Gopro for action shot (in water/running/driving motor bike) and mainly use DSLR for most of our shots. We don't use chest harness due to the shaky video it gives. We combine the gopro with a baton, but really prefer more the DSLR for the quality it brings. Thank you so much for dropping by, have a good weekend!

    • @dodgyaz
      @dodgyaz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the reply :)
      I have a DSLR, but was wondering if I should get a GoPro as well.
      I guess the GoPro could be good for Waterbom Park :)
      Thanks

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are tight on the budget, there is many cheaper Chinese brand camera that will do the job. Or even better, nowadays, most of the cell phone provides good quality video and are water resistant. Keep the cost of the hobby as low as possible when you start and you will eventually find what you really need and spend your money on the right things. Most importantly, just do it, go out and film your trip!

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We spend somewhere around 50$-60$ canadian dollar and we were very confortable with that budget. Try to eat at local restaurant and bar. You will safe money there and have a great experience 👍 have a safe trip!

    hey thr whats the Mount batur package price? N isit possible to ask the driver to stop by certain locations that we wanna go like ubud market b4 sending us back to our hotel?

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mount Batur was around 40 CND per person and yes they can drop you off in Ubud but they don't do double stops so if you get dropped off at the market, you'll have to find your own way back to your hotel afterward. We hope this helps!

    Hopefully I'll be returning to Bali in a few months and heading away from Kuta this time, so this is great for some ideas, thank you.
    Saying that, I'm glad I wasn't up that mountain with you. And I bet that all of those people visibly taking photos at 2:43 wish they weren't either. Flying a drone right in front of their view is unbelievably selfish. Most people don't get to travel as much as you and might not see another view like this for years

    • @TakyoTravel
      @TakyoTravel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually never reply to negative people because it nothing productive, but let me tell you that the people there requested us to do that shot so they can all have that beautiful memory. Our drone never got close to anyone at the point to bother them, we would never do so. We travel a lot, and with that comes also more respect to travelers.
